Yep, we managed the conference call (although I might have forgotten to cross it off the list :rotfl:) It was just half an hour late, so I ended up talking while walking down the road, but all our party games are planned now, so Christmas party should go off nicely at least :T
Feeling *slightly* better now after a couple of cups of tea, and a casserole
Still a few things left to do though, and going out just after 7....
ooh, bought myself a couple of treats today
You know, I just don't go shopping at all usually, so completely get out of the habit. When I go Christmas shopping for other people, even with a list, I felt like I was getting a bit carried away buying things *I wanted* as well :rotfl:
Was rather pleased when I got home and emptied my bags, only to find that my 'lots of treats' comprised:
* a copy of A Sand County Almanac (£1.99 from Oxfam bookshop)
* a packet of multi coloured pens from Poundland (£1, obviously)
* two face flannels (59p each)
Grand total of £4.17, and I feel like I've been extravagant! :rotfl: (also feel like I should have saved it to go towards the car )0 -
Oh Cheery, what a day you've had! When its so rare that you treat yourself, of course you deserve a treat of £4.17!!!
Dear me though, the admin in your PhD department really does leave something to be desired, doesn't it! Still, hurray to yummy casserole and chocolate

Glad you treated yourself

Right, need a reason to get off my backside  (well, there's plenty of REASONS, I just need some motivation :rotfl:)
So - timer will be set. I'm going out in 45 minutes. Before then I will have:
* taken today's present haul up to the attic
* printed off notes for tomorrow's meeting (two lots - just to remind myself!)
* brought down all presents that need posting
* wrapped presents and labelled up ready to post
* written Christmas cards
* got bag ready for London tomorrow
* packed stuff for work/staying over in York on Thursday (no time to do it tomorrow )
Sounds like a lot, but actually it'll be quite quick when I actually GET ON WITH IT, and if I do it all before I go out, I can relax when I come home again

hi Cheery, grrrrr to your frustrating day. I think the most terrible crime in all of it was the fact that you only ate half a freddo, that's terrible! are you telling us that you left half a poor defenceless freddo frog out in the world to defend for itself?
Hope your evening improves and you get a couple more cups of tea.0 -
I'm sorry but I've made us both a cup of tea after you day today.
