Thats some advent calendar! I confess, I don't have one - I've tried to in past years, they're just not my thing. But that one sounds lovely! DT is on her way up north, you know, and is doing fine - if your direct route seems blocked, you might investigate hopping over the Pennines (if *they're* not blocked) to go to Manchester and up north from there.... she's past Carlisle now.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I saw on your thread Ruby, I'm well impressed! :j :j Enjoy your bauble
And thanks for the offer to send me one - that would be lovely, but we really do have more baubles than sense in this house already, so please pass it to someone who doesn't have many :j
WI done - and we got 3 free mince pies from people from a church who were giving them out in the street - very MSE (and came with a free blessing :rotfl:) Very Christmassy too
Thanks KC, we will be heading over to Manchester then up the M6 when we go - at the moment they've closed our main road to Manchester (Snake Pass) though :rotfl: I assume that the other main road is open by now (A62), so we'll be able to go up that if nothing else. The problem will be north of Inverness I think! But we'll see...0 -
Anyway, our giant icicle obviously considered my slightly threatening behaviour overnight, and decided to give itself up this morning. Fortunately nobody was underneath it! It broke in half, but I bravely stuck it back together for the photo - blimey it was heavy!

I'm quite lucky, I suit all manner of daft hats

Thanks Pickle
That hat's not off Ebay, bought it for 99p in the charity shop last weekend
(charity shop for the coat too, although it was a while ago now!)
((LT)))))) Is it your neighbours who won't fix their guttering? Must be vile
Water's coming in again now, but we seem to be having a bit of a thaw, so hopefully it'll be over soon. Mr Daffs got a bit over-enthusiastic jabbing about with his spike-on-a-stick and knocked the central heating outflow pipe off the wall :rotfl: Add it to the list of things to sort out when I'm rich next year... .:rotfl:
Christmas shopping a success
:j :j Didn't get everything, but did make a jolly good dent in it, and lots of bargains too :j :j Had to come home because it was raining and dark and crowded, and I was carrying lots of heavy things
Got a few hours to myself now though... Just eating a 'french bread pizza' (actually just cheese on toast with a bit of tomato puree and mushrooms :rotfl:) then will sort out the presents I bought, find some Christmas music and get making cards
Then Shred before Mr Daffs comes back, and a nice hot bath
