Awww, Cheery, you sound like you really don't want two nights on your own. Cuddle up on that sofa, and get both your hot water bottles around you, he'll be back before you know it.
GQ - thanks for that link! Really interesting - and it stands to reason that something *so* against the interests of the big food companies would be scoffed at and ridiculed.... so, Cheery, if you want a microwave, you can have mine, if you can get down here! Its little, and the turntable doesn't turn, but its pretty new for all that - I got it on Amazon with qype vouchers
Z - thanks for your queries, it ended up giving me GQ's link! And mine were only ever suspicions, I didn't know about this Swiss study.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

As with these things (or indeed anything else) do your own research.

I'll be fine KC :T It's just that I'm so darn reasonable the whole time, I'd never dream of being someone who said 'no, get yourself back here right now it's not fair!' but sometimes I just want to say 'bah, I want you to come home!'
:rotfl:
However, I won't be doing anything of the sort, of course, and if I *am* here on my own, I might use it as an excuse to wear fluffy pajamas and bed socks and drink lots of hot chocolate and watch several Harry Potter films in a row :rotfl:
And thanks for the offer of your microwave! :j :j I'd love to have it - but I'd say it's rather unlikely that I'll make it down there! I am coming to London on 15th December, but don't have much time either side of meeting to be galivanting around the countryside after microwaves sadly :rotfl: Thanks though
Right, onwards and upwards - PhD chapter 8 beckons....

hope the PhD has gone well, can't beleive it took you so long to make yourself a cuppa.
I've been to work, took 3 times as long to get there and back as usual so that was fun. At least it was warm. I left early to come home so have since given the animals lots of straw to keep them warm and put some washing on.
I'm now wrapped up on the sofa thinking that i wish i could type with gloves on as my hands are so cold.0 -

Unreasonable request: no, get yourself back here right now it's not fair!
Reasonable request: bah, I want you to come home!
Just my opinion!!!

I agree. Mind you it never works for me. I am often too reasonable. Oops just went into a rant but deleted it so as not to hijack your thread.
The thing is with men is that they just dont do the emotional bit most of the time. If they want to do something they come at it from a practical viewpoint and never quite understand why we woman feel a bit bleurgh about it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Actually, it's usually the other way round here :rotfl: I'm by far the more practical, less emotional one, and rarely feel bleurgh about anything like that!
(and rant if you like, it's not a hijack, I think of it as all popping in and out of each others houses, chatting round different kitchen tables, so it really doesn't matter which one we're 'sat' at
(and I'm sure you're right MatyMoo! However, at the minute, as far as I know, he *is* still coming home, so I won't be saying either!

i like your analogy about kitchen tables, we always used to linger round the kitchen table when we were growing up and catch up with family and friends. One day i will have a kitchen big enough to have a kitchen table in.
just had a bowl of porridge and some milk, i'm waiting for OH to get home from work, sometime after 8 and needed something to tide me over.
my stacking cooling trays arrived today and look nice, not sure they're as substantial as the lakeland ones but they'll do me nicely and they're ready for the cake fest tomorrow0 -
I like that too - sitting at the table, or leaning over the fence, such a community feel to it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
