Room for improvement there then KC! :T At least you know what you need to do next time! :T

I don't see why you can't freeze pancakes (mine are never left for long enough to try :rotfl:) - perhaps try with a couple rather than an entire freezerful?! :rotfl: No idea what the best way of heating back up again? Someone will know!

Good point - I'll have to think about that, now the herbalist has asked me not to use the microwave....

You could perhaps leave them out for half an hour to defrost, then stick back in the pan for a little while?

Still snowing here :D Slept on the sofa cos Mr Daffs is away, and Im Soooooo cosy! :rotfl: Was a little worried I'd be cold, but several blankets and two hot water bottles did the trick nicely :D Fell asleep with the tv on, and was rather startled by the programmes starting again at 7am and being greeted by an unexpected male voice saying 'good morning, are you awake yet?'  I am now!

Was going to Shred this morning  but the prospect of getting out of my cosy pjs and exercising isn't filling me with joy :rotfl: And I'm remembering PhD is the priority, of course! :T So breakfast, dressed, PhD, and I *might* shred later when it's gone dark again :rotfl:

Yep, thats probably the right way to go. Now that the big accounts are out of the way - the French accounts take a fraction of the time, and I've already had to do most of them for the English accounts anyway - I'm rejigging what I store where a little bit - throwing out a little bit.

You slept on the sofa! Did you mean to, or were you a bit spooked at being in the house on your own? You must have been sound asleep not to have woken till 7am, thats really good!

Love the snow photos! We popped out at one point last night to find that our next door neighbour had built a giant snow rabbit in the garden :rotfl:

It's a long drawn out process of getting used to being in the house on my own... :o I used to be really spooked, always had been, so sitting up with all the lights and the tv on was the only way to do it... I'm not really spooked now, but haven't yet got into the habit of going to bed - partly cos we sleep in the attic and it feels a bit shut away from the rest of the house!

I *know* that if we were burgled I'd be better off in the attic where I didn't know what was going on, rather than on the sofa :rotfl: And I also know how very unlikely it is that anybody would bother to burgle us in this weather! :rotfl:

But our sofa is actually very large and comfortable :D And rather than be lying awake listening to noises, I tend to watch some mindless tv, fall asleep about 1am (later than usual), and sleep for the rest of the evening :D I actually went back to sleep after I'd been rudely awoken at 7am, only to be rudely awoken again at 8.30 when the phone rang - just once - and then went dead again - grrr!

Still haven't actually managed to move since then, not even for breakfast or a cuppa or to put the heating on! I did open the curtains - but lying looking at all the snow is making me want to move even less :rotfl:

Oh dear! Will pull together my resolve and go and put the heating on and do breakfast at least :D

  • Hi Cheery,

Pancakes freeze really well (the sort you have with lemon and sugar on Pancake Day - crepes is the posh word isn't it!). I find it best to layer with silicone paper to make it easier to separate them.

I tend to defrost by putting the required number between two plates over steaming water, and turning if need be. (I don't have a microwave)

You've put thoughts in my head for a lovely lunch now! Cheesy broccoli pancakes :j:j and the extra pancakes can get frozen away.

Thanks GQ! There's your answer KC! :T I knew it wouldn't be long before someone came up with one! :T

Friend rang, he's also snowed in, and he encouraged me to get out of bed and put the heating on, so I did, and have got breakfast, and now back in bed again :rotfl: Kettle's just boiled, but making tea involves getting back out! :rotfl:

I fear it's going to be a long day.... :rotfl:

Oh dear Cheery, it looks like we are as bad as each other. I have let Moo in the garden made a cuppa and retreated to the sofa with a furry throw, duvet and my laptop (it warms me up nicely if I have it on for a while).I am still in PJs, bedsocks, furry boot slippers and big oversized fleecy dressing gown. Very fetching. Building up to making something to eat too but it means standing in the cold kitchen. I have to be washed and dressed by 2 as the hire car is (supposedly) arriving. Mmm liking the sound of pancakes might just build up the courage to brave kitchen for that.
