Hey, don't you go back into hiding, stay out and play! :rotfl: Nice to meet you
I *love* the snow :j :j Absolutely love itLast year I had a job that required me to refuse to drive in it (which caused rather a lot of inconvenience to someone else), so it was quite stressful - but this year I'm working somewhere else and go on the train (and can work at home), so I have no need to drive anywhere at all, and don't lose any money if it snows, and live within walking distance of the shops, so consequently I'm just enjoying it
I was quite impressed at Mr Daffs' determination too :rotfl: but it's for something he's been trying to do for several weeks, that people have been cancelling for one reason and another, so he was pretty determined not to let it stop him! It's only 20 mins on the train, so really not that bad.
I'm thinking something that involves mash and gravy for tea0 -
Ooo Mash my favourite, can I share some?
Love the photos. I have been told that flickr and facebook dont link on here anymore so I have been using photobucket.
Sounds like you have had a very productive day today. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Aha, that'll explain it then! Not sure I've got a photobucket account - and now isn't the time to set one up - priorities and all that
It's not actually been *that* productive:rotfl: But it's getting there! I have both of my chapters mind mapped in lots of detail, and have been through and scribbled on both with a pen. Just finished rewriting the introduction to the first one - so I'm getting there, but won't have both done tonight - will be happy if chapter 7 is done - don't know why I keep expecting myself to be able to rewrite two chapters in a day, because it's blatantly impossible!
Back when I've done another section...0 -
Hope the work is going well - you do sound like you're ploughing on!
I was thinking of you earlier, standing in my kitchen looking at the empty mixing bowl ... I'm going to do it ... I'm going to you know, actually make somethingI used an "easy chappati recipe". Hmmm. Bung-it-in cookery is not for me. It was just about edible with a strong topping like peanut butter, but truth to tell it was disgusting. I'm going to get an actual English measure recipe and do a pancake with the proper pan .... I'd like to have flatbreads in my repertoire, but its getting doubtful

Great photo's Cheery, really shows how deep it has got.
Sooooo glad we only had an inch or so down here. Definitely not a fan of that funny white stuff unless I can stay in the warm with Hot chocolate and Choccie Biccies looking out at it. It is no fun when you have 26 miles of M25 between you and work:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Oh dear KC! Did you figure out what went wrong with the flatbreads, or was it just the recipe you didn't like? You WILL have a nice cheery recipe in your repertoire! You will! We'll help
Will see what my bread book says later
No fun at all if you have to drive in it MatyMooPah!
Nearly had a crisis here a minute ago - really fancied mash-and-gravy-and for tea :rotfl: and since I haven't been cooking much lately and just eating far too much weetabixI thought I'd cook. Mash on, veg and lentil mix on for underneath the mash - went hunting round in the cupboards for gravy... None! Who on earth doesn't have gravy in the cupboard??! :rotfl: Fortunately Pippi has come to rescue with impromptu gravy recipe :T :T
I'm getting there with writing - it's just so slow, and there's just so many other things to be distracted by - even when you're entirely snowed in by yourself in an empty house :rotfl:0 -

Cheery's middle name is 'procrastination', but I'm a fine one to talk: I'm a past master! :rotfl:Please call me 'Pickle'

the bins look so funny!
we don't have anyway as much snow as that but it's bloomin freezing here. We've the fire on and i'm frozen stiff, i have top, thick cardi, wrap, blanket and i'm still cold. Why can't we get this place warm?0 -

Pan wasn't thick enough ... I didn't roll it out ... I didn't measure and don't have an eye for quantities ... you name it, I did it
I can make pancakes and then freeze them, can't I? I'm not making pancakes all the time, even tho I like them.... and I can try this again - I've actually made pancakes in the past, so I *know* I can do those.
Can hardly see the screen for yawning, so I better go. Sleep well all

Hope you've warmed up a bit LT. Sounds like you'd really benefit from those windows. I must confess to carrying around a hot water bottle for the past few days (er, weeks... :rotfl:) - keeps me nicely cosy. We only have our heating on low, so sometimes need a little top up
Speaking of which... I've stopped nowDidn't finish my chapter, but did get through more than half, and got nicely to the end of a section :T House is tidy (and I've just done the washing up after tea too :T), and now I've got a hot chocolate, two hot water bottles, and am curled up underneath 3 blankets and a large quilt
Very cosy
Sleep well all... xx0
