Thanks Happy
I've finished my final person now :j :j :j And meeting my friend in half an hour in a cafe :T so since it's just round the corner, I'm going to pack up my things, head over there, get myself a nice cup of tea, and start my mind mapping in there, as one of us is ALWAYS late, and it isn't going to be me, so it'll probably be her :rotfl:
Feel like I'm moving a little more now :j :j0 -
Ok, starting mind mapping, had a nice chat with friend :T :T Also started the process of thinking about who could help me to do what to get the PhD finished, and texted an old friend asking for some advice
Home now, and sunk a little into gloomy mode againMr Daffs just waking up from a nap, so I'm going to take a cuppa up to bed, and put the world to rights for a bit, and get up refreshed
(can't believe it's already going dark!)0 -
it feels like a proper winter evening here. the rain is pouring down, curtains are closed, water is pouring out of the gutters onto our patio door and step (still). I joked recently to OH that i would crochet him a cover for his nekkid hot water bottle for chrissy. He only found a pattern for a knitted on it a magazine at work so tore it out and brought it home for me to do. It does look nice but it's not going to be as easy to do as a plain crochetted one lol. I have almost finished another little cardi for one of my nieces teddy bears, I've done one already so just this one to finish and they'll both have another chrissy pressy.0

Great stuff LT! (the knitting, not the weather ) Lol at your OH bringing you a specific pattern for a hot water bottle cover :rotfl:
All wintery here too, not raining but damp from earlier, and rather blustery...0 -
Cheery, brilliant news about the job! Congratulations! And you're really powering on with the PhD now because the job is real - good all round.
Sorry about the hormonal grumps coming back tho - how is it all today? Take a step back from it - its not permanent, remember, its just the flux capacitor overloading temporarily ...
I know what you mean about the whole working class thing... mine's a little bit different, but its still there - first one of all my cousins to go away to college, first one to move away, first one to have an expense account and business cards  though nobody every begrudged me - partly cos they didn't understand what I was doing, partly cos I lived down south and they didn't see my life ... its funny down here, you're sort of not "allowed" to talk about class any more, but its very real, how can we not take it into account?
Where's the confused smiley when you *really* need it2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Feeling fine today KC, but then not long out of bed! :rotfl: Have already done a mind map for Christmas presents part of the 50 day challenge though :T
And yesterday I did a plan of what needs doing each week to get the PhD done, and who's offered to read which chapters for me, and when I'll need them written/back by :T So I've got a list of people to contact to ask if they're still happy to do it, and to warn them when their chapter will be arriving and a time I'd like it back bySo feeling a little more in control! :T
And I've been looking at some nice underwear on the internet in preparation for a little trip to town this afternoon:rotfl:
Got a cheery plan for today too :T Gorgeously sunny here! :j :j So I'm going to have a quick tidy of the kitchen, wake Mr Daffs up and head off to the women's institute (of course!) :T Then into town to start spending the underwear fund :j :j Mr Daffs has got a band rehearsal in the kitchen this afternoon - which confines me to the attic for a couple of hours - a good excuse to crack on with some PhD :T Will also grit my teeth and make a plan of attack for meeting examiner on Monday. I'm going to fit in either a run or Shred later, and sort out holiday dates, and make a final definitive list of Christmas presents so I can get on with making/buying them! :T (oh, and sort out a Christmas presents budget - not entirely sure where that's coming from yet :rotfl:)
Not a bad day I don't think! :j :j0 -
That sounds a *great* day! I bet you really enjoy it
