Hi hun, sorry to hear you are feeling down, we all have days like that, it'll pass. The lodger must be contributing to your mood, sounds like he's taken advantage of your cheery and pleasant nature for too long. Having him there all the time is messing up your routines and invading your privacy. He should be paying you rent by now.
    )

What do we reckon? Is that a good idea? Have a kind of inspiration board just focusing on the next 10 weeks (rather than what comes after it, I get too distracted by that and try to do all the nice things *NOW* rather than waiting! :o)? Is that a good idea? So I'd have maybe a picture of someone working calmly and productively, meeting deadlines :o, being proud of the work they'd done, and visualise myself doing those things, then walking calmly to hand in my thesis, and finally being told it's finished.

    What do you think? :)

I think you should make a vision board. I like this lady on youtube, she has lots of short videos that don't seem to be in any particular order so I'll just link to one for you.

You should be able to get study/learning/education type pictures from free brochures in the uni careers office, then hang the board over your desk. And you can spend a few hours making it look cheery:rotfl:

Thanks Mags, I'm just making tea then I'll watch that video :D Does rather sound like something I can spend half the day doing! :rotfl:

Pania - got most confused there, thinking you were saying *I* had the initials of a friendly alien! Most confused, since I actually have the initials of a well known digger company :D

Lodger did offer to make a contribution to the house Mags, but Mr Daffs turned him down, rightly so I think, as if he's not paying, it still has the status of 'a favour', whereas if he paid, I think he'd feel even less inclined to get his skates on.

Party was lovely, lots and lots of gorgeous tasty food, as usual :D We were there to see the wedding photos - absolutely gorgeous, since bloke in question and a lot of his friends are photographers :) And the good lady is gorgeous :) Always a good combination! And there was a video - apparently in Taiwan it's customary to show guests a video depicting how you met :D Apparently this bloke had some friends round for beef noodle soup, one of them went home and wrote about it on her blog, and added a sentence saying how fab this bloke was (and that he was also single :D) and someone in Taiwan saw it, passed it to their sister in law, and they arranged a blind date :D

196 days later, they were married, having only spent 38 days together as she was still living in Taiwan. That was a year ago. Couldn't quite keep up with the shenanigans, as there seemed to be a HUGE engagement party, 3 lots of wedding photos all over our city and Taiwan with an entire series of dresses and suits (and lots of messing around in parks), a short actual wedding ceremony in a registry office in jeans, then several months later a HUGE (like 300 guests huge) reception in Taiwan  All good fun.

So my slight sense of humour failure was suspended for a while, then returned about 11.30 when I caught sight of myself in a brightly lit mirror, hair needing washing, podgy with a nice puffy face :o:o Bed about 12.30, up again at 1.15 in floods of tears :o Consoled only by Mr Daffs being nice, by rice pudding, and by watching an hour of Grease :rotfl: Feel *slightly* better today, but still on the edge... Some plotting and planning needs to happen today I think to restore equilibrium!

WI first though, cake anyone?? :D

oh bless you daffs, glad you had a nice time at the party but poor you feeling icky. me and you are a right pair, with our hormonalness.

I'm going to write a plan of action list for the rest of october and see what I can achieve in the three weeks left, lists always make me feel better, more in control.

oooh cake, i will be partaking in cake whilst out for lunch with my mum, so i shall drink tea and eat cake in your honour.

Have a lovely day at WI, chin up and I will be back to check in for a cuppa and a chat later.

    Much love

    Missy xx

Oh Cheery I do feel for you, and all those with hormones. I had a 'totalectomy' as a friend calls it due to cancer 8 years ago. As well a removing the obvious bits it was also both ovaries and lots of lymph nodes and anything remotely suspicious looking. I now have no hormones and no immune system. I think I prefer the endless colds etc to my previous hormonal state!
Hope the tea and cake helps.

Gosh greenval, sounds like you did go through the wars  I think I'd take a few days of pesky hormones over what you went through hon! I have a friend who calls it a 'hystericalectomy' :rotfl:

WI helped :) And library, and tea and cake :D Back home, had an egg and cheese pancake for lunch, about to whip up a strawberry, yorgurt and honey one :D Mr Daffs flaked out with toothache, and I'm not sure I've got much 'feeling sorry for' energy to go much further than myself :o so I'm going to nip out to a free arts and crafts fare and possibly to visit another friend for a cuppa :D

Ooh, haven't watched that video yet! Perhaps I'll do that over the next pancake :D

Thanks Mags, watched the video, got a bit more of an idea what things are about now :T

Had a nice afternoon chatting with a lovely cheery friend :j :j :j Still on a bit of a short fuse though :o Thought I'd have an hour or two to myself tonight, but sadly Lodger came back before Mr Daffs had gone out! Ah well. He has offered to cook me tea (I said yes :D) and I have explained that I am havng rather a sense of humour failure, and apologised if I'm not my usual cheery self :o He's gone out to the shop, so I'm just going to have a quick bit of a tidy before he takes over the entire kitchen and causes a huge mess all over again <yawn>

    :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

    :D

Did have a lovely long email from friend in Belgium though, so I'm going to reply to that tonight, as well as having a nice long soak in the bath, tidying the bedroom a bit, and watching the second half of Grease :T

Blimey missy you're up early! In fact, you're probably nearly back by now And I've only just rolled out of bed! :rotfl:

On a mission to banish the negativity from the last couple of days, and get a bit more of a hold of myself :D Not entirely sure what that will involve yet as not long up :D But I'm thinking a run (much needed exercise!), some PhD planning (and writing!), and working out just *exactly* what I have to do to get it done before Christmas, and how *exactly* I'm going to do it <wibble>

And a cuppa with a friend later - the friend who was dumped by our current 'lodger'....

Daffs, it sounds like life was pretty tough for you over the past couple of days, hormonalness but also lodgerishness .... is he being told to make some more effort to sling his hook?
