  • Tracker says my desire is at customs now. Does anyone know if i will have to pay for customs because on their website it says something about I might have to pay for it. I'm not really sure how customs works.
    Help appreciated.

I would certainly not be happy to pay any charges, afterall we have already paid for the items bought and waited a silly amount of time for them. Mine is still saying in customs so waiting for that to clear seems to be taking a long time.

Elite savings said there is a back log in customs and it is unlikely to be processed through customs until next week

I have had 5 orders from HK in recent weeks latest was last Friday and I can tell you that each order was only in customs for 2-3 days, so I doubt there is a backlog at all. PS none of my orders were from elite savings.co.uk

But I am glad I chanced upon this thread:T

PS I had to pay customs and handling fees on each item, though the VAT was hit and miss. If you really do get this item and have been unlucky enough to get stung by customs you will pay import duty and then VAT on the whole lot thereby possibly not saving a bean. Sorry
  • I too got worried but was intent on giving them the benefit of doubt, after nearly month getting worried about what I had read..I noted that they were no longer using moneybookers to pay - but you had to use some gold trading broker to move the money about. That was then too far I jumped out and asked for a refund, which they have done and in good time. It remains to be seen if its a scam or not.

    Dear XXXXXXXX,

You have received a refund of GBP 278.48 from Paramveer Takher (sales@elitesavings.co.uk) with transaction ID 303243341.

This amount has been automatically refunded to your credit/debit card (VISA, 4xxxxxxxxxxxXX46). Depending on your bank, it will take up to 21 days to show on your credit/debit card account statement.

You may view the above mentioned transaction in the 'history' section of your Moneybookers account.

    Sincerest regards,
    The Moneybookers Team
  • How many people that cancelled their orders have received the funds back into their accounts and roughly how long did it take? Elite have given me two timescales now, neither of which have been met. I don't fancy waiting the 21 days quoted in the Moneybookers email posted by ovr2u above. Also, did others get this email? I've just had endless sh*t from Elite, nothing from Moneybookers regarding a refund. FUMING!!

I spoke to my bank who say they can't find out if the money is coming back in to my account but they are willing to raise a dispute to return the original transaction amount - (that should screw them out of their 10%+50p).

I guess time will tell but any of your refund experiences would be much appreciated.

Also, thanks to everyone that posted about Elite, if I hadn't seen this on Monday (the day after ordering) I probably would have waited around for months potentially to no end. So thank you.

    Christina.
  • Nevermind, I've had my refund!
  • I've been following your comments in the forum. I've also been waiting for over two months now and have received nothing. I've also had no replies from the elitesavings and from the shipping company. The tracking system seems to me to be highly spurious. Just to let you know that I'm cancelling my order. I am going to do the cancellation through the bank and not through elitesavings. I am also going to write to the Office of Fair Trading to report a suspected scam.
  • A week ago I ordered an iPad from elite savings but over the weekend became suspicious and cancelled the order on Monday. They sent an email promising a refund within 3 business days but that was 5 days ago. Moneybookers have not been asked to send me my money and my building society has also been unable to get money back. Meanwhile Elite doesn't seem to be answering its phones.
  • Further to my post earlier, I emailed Elite telling them I was going to spread the word about their failure to refund. They responded saying they TRIED to refund me yesterday but ran into problems (scammers do tend to run into problems when asked for refunds) and that Moneybookers would confirm they had tried to refund. They also said they're trying to do my refund again 'after 5.30pm close of business' today. In other words, waiting for some bizarre reason, until everyone has closed business for the weekend.

I asked Moneybookers just a minute ago if Elite had tried yesterday or at any time to initiate a refund to me and they said No.
This cofirms that Elite is telling porky pies. Think I can kiss my money goodbye, by the sound of things.
