I drink no added sugar squash. A health trainer said to drink dilute juice, but I found myself not bothering to dilute it, so the squash is lower calorie. I have it very weak though. And I drink coffee, sometimes a fair bit, but only with skimmed milk. And fruit teas. I don't drink fizzy drinks unless it's as a mixer, which is rare.

Forgot to say before, but I grill all my meat, or do it in the slow cooker. I don't fry anything.

It's just a case of cutting down on cheese and unhealthy snacks I think, I lost a couple of stone last summer but then put it all on (and more). I think I've lost weight in the last few weeks, but my scales are useless, I can get on them, off and straight back on and there's half a stone difference! I'm going to start using the machine at Boots and weighing myself every few weeks, to get a better idea.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Ames - try reduced fat cheese as you can have more, or extra strong mature cheese 'cause you need less - on SW you would be allwed 350 skimmed milk and 28 gms cheese/42 gms reduced fat cheese a day - luckily I don't drink milk so I have twice as much cheese. SW found in studies that calcium aids weight loss for some reason, hense the emphasis on milk/cheese

Well, I'm off to my bed folks - leaving you in charge Ames & Spoon - here's the key - last one here to lock Fred up for the night

    Hi Ames
Agree with 3Dogs. I did the WW programme a few years back and lost a lot of weight which I've managed to keep off by following the eating plan (more or less anyway) .

The secret is to eat a lot of the good stuff (lean protein, veg), less of the carbs - though you do need carbs to fill you up - and some treats otherwise you feel deprived. You have to eat to get your metabolism moving, the worst thing you can do is not eat.

Calcium is definitely important. I eat the ML yoghurts as well, skimmed milk and I always buy very strong cheddar, you need much less of it because it is strong and it's much more filling than the milder stuff. Eggs and tomatoes also fill you up and don't need much doing to them (and eggs aren't as damaging to cholesterol levels as was thought).

    Good luck

I'm off to bed now, leaving you in charge of Fred.

No, it's not just the mullers, it's weight watchers, shape 'feel fuller longer', any really that say fat free, very low fat. I don't know about the Adsa one's but I will check them out. Lots of them say 'low fat' but when you check the label they are high in calores - I think any 100 cals per 100 gms or ess would be OK

What do you drink - do you drink water (8 glasses a day) as this is important to flush everything through and replace water in your system - I drink VERY weak black tea, hot water, filtered cold water, 'no sugar added' squashes (all free on SW), and the very occassional diet coke/pepsi Max
