went on and on at me about how awful my 2 emergency c-sections must have been.

I can see why women have elective c-sections hahahaha!!!

:D I recently fell pg with number 3 (miscarried unfortunately) but having had 2 previous sections with my children I found myself under some pressure to experience natural childbirth (vbac I think they call it) from the midwife who visited me at home and half considered it.

Having attended 3 natural labours (birthing partner for both sisters - lucky me!) and read this thread I feel really glad that I was delivered by c-section and don't have any of these stories - I feel most privileged that I was treated with dignity and came away with my lady bits totally intact.
I feel lucky that I can use tampons and they remain where I put them! (my sisters gradually work their way out after 4 children)

If I do have another baby I have to say this vbac idea is just not doing it for me!

ETA: ummm... I just wondered. how did you tell your OH's your were preggers? I always think this would be a really exciting part of the whole journey... be so interested to hear your stories! :D

All three times I ran around waving the test stick shouting 'oh my god!!!'...so probably not a good example of how to tell your OH :o.

This time was a bit more emotional as we lost our last baby at 18 weeks...but still with the aforementioned shouting....

thanks Ishtar and sorry to hear of your loss. *cuddles Ishtar*

I think I'd be something like you! tearing around the house with pee stick in hand! :D

I'd love to be one of those very composed women who are able to keep the secret for a lovely occassion.

A friend at my old work told her dad by giving him a 'father's day' card.
It was to be his first grandchild.
    It said:

    Dear Grandad,

although we haven't met, I asked mummy to get you this father's day card from me.

I know we're going to be the best of friends! mummy and daddy tell me how wonderful you are all the time (and grandma too!)

I asked mummy to enclose this picture of me... I had my best smile on for you! (enclosed a 1st scan picture)

See you in a few months for a cuddle,
    All my love,
    Baby 'Surname'

That just made me fall onto the floor in a puddle...:o
    it was SO beautiful!

    oooooo!

Have just read through most of this in morbid fascination. I can now safely say I am NEVER having kids!!!!!!!!!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I am going to have nightmares for the next few days though.

My best friend is due to pop in October...might direct her this way though!
