In retrospect... birth is the easy part!!!!!!!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Had horribly quick second stage (20 seconds)
I bled for 11 long weeks afterwards
I had giant feet afterwards and couldn't even get my slippers on. I did wee it all out though.
Some of my stitches 'fell out' and I was rather worried to find bits of blue string in the shower.
Yup, but the birth was the easy bit though!0 -
As soon as my son's head was out he started wailing. I was still in pain but it was very funny. Just a crying head sticking out of my hoohaa.
It was like something out of Alien. He seemed to be there for ages.
Funniest thing I have seen for ages

My OH had to have stitches but what amazed me was I was chucked out while the stitches were done although I'd been there the whole time she was screaming & pushing & almost breaking my fingers (I foolishly let her hold my hand). !!!!!!?Winnings

A couple of things no-one told me...
You have to get out of bed to roll over, or it takes about 5 minutes.
You might think you don't have any stretch marks, but they can be hiding under your belly button where you can't see em.
You'll feel the need to tell everyone all the gross things that are happening to you while you're pregnant, even though they won't want to know.Debts May 09 [strike]£100 Od[/strike], [strike]£1550 boiler[/strike], [strike]£1750[/strike] £400 credit card  Goal - to 3k of savings by Oct 2009 in time for Baby num 2 :j Total so far £12000 -
That duvets are a godsend - I stayed at my mum's over Christmas and she uses sheets and blankets. I didn't pull the sheets out of the side enough and now know how one of those elephant seals that you see on nature programmes feels as it flobs out of the water up the beach to get to where it wants to go.Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early0

I have a pregnant friend who thinks its going to be all hearts and flowers - how I wish she'd seen my neighbour (a similarly chirpy first timer) return with her new born baby yesterday. She was so traumatized she couldn't remember if she'd a had a boy or girl!! So was white as a sheet and hobbled from the car to the house!
