Pregnancy's Best Kept Secrets

Oh my goodness!!! I am due Sept, but I think I knew most of this already. Bit scarey though, but like most things you just have to get on with it I suppose. This has given me inspiration to be more organised for after the birth.
Things I have noticed so far.... people touching my tummy, it's a bit creepy especially as they don't ask they just slink over in a weird way .... the indescribable pain of a bad back and physically not being able to walk due to pain and being given only mild painkillers and the number of an osteopath (thanks!)...... severe morning sickness is not remotely amusing, injections just so you can sip water and losing so much weight I thought I would loose baby (he's fine, kicking right now).
But, I think my pregnancy has been a bit extreme in parts, I'm actually quite looking forward to the birth!!! After all of that suffering it CANNOT be worse and at least it'll only last for a few days at the most. :rotfl:
Oh and peoples constant comments on my size, I don't really have much of a bump, and the peanut butter and booze debate. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
i am so glad to see some more posts on this thread after i 'bumped' it.
as i am TTC, the stories are sooooo frightening but also very informative and inspirational!!!
keep them coming ladies for us that haven't yet entered the world of those that have given birth.0 -
Nobody told me about the sweats!!!! I woke up every night for two weeks after giving birth wet through with sweat apparently the bodies way of getting rid of the excess water you carry in pregnancy, and that when that goes waking up drenched in milk from leaking boobs, my leaking was so bad that i ended up cutting towels up to put inside my bra!!!!!! When i got out of bed it was like water pistols at dawn my dh would be ducking to avoid the streams of milk coming from my boobs!!!!!!!lolI don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

I have eaten peanut butter, brie, raw fish sushi, had the occasionall small glass of wine, and the baby is FINE.
No one tells you how judgemental people can be even complete strangers, or how ppl think your belly is public property. i just step back from them if they want to touch my bely.
if you gain a lot of weight its 'gosh you are getting huge' and if you are not fat people say 'you have not got much of a bump' (BOTH of these have heppened to me - huge with DS, doing a Nicole richie this time:eek:)Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I had this! Well kind of.
I've never heard anyone else having it though. While I didn't think I was inside someone else, I didn't feel like me. I knew what I was doing but it was like I was outside watching me.
It sounds very hard to explain. It was after the birth of my first baby. It lasted for about 3-4 weeks. I had a bad birth (kiellands forceps, roatation and delivery - that was written on my baby's name tag. I'll never forget that!) and lost quite a bit of blood. I think it was overtiredness. It did feel very weird, and I thought i'd never feel normal again.
The only other time it happened was when I was newly pregnant with baby number 2.
Funnily enough - I had a similar things straight after the birth of DS - i came round from sleeping making the same screwy up faced faces that babies make! Only the once - really thought it was weird - it was though I was so totally absorbed in the baby that I thought I was him! Nuts!
I have laughed so much at this thread - i'm so glad i'm not the only one who went through hell!!0 -
