mind you the end of the birth i was away with the fairies and didnt have a clue what was going on yet i only had an epidural and had given up on the gas and air a few hours previous.
a friends husband says that when they cut his wife it sounded just like someone slicing bacon with kitchen scissors :rotfl:
getting cut again is the only thing scaring me about this pregnancy, actually no... i didnt even feel them cut me, its the stitches i dont want,
my stitches "healing" experience is something i wouldnt wish on anyone :eek:0 -
This thread has been such a great reminder of all the good and bad that pregnancy and birth can bring.
So much so that last week my OH had the snip!
It was a taster of being the DH at the birth for me. He seemed to be in a considerable amount of discomfort (extreme pain according to him), and all I could do was stand by and watch, whilst offering the occasional word of encouragement: like 'it'll all be over very soon', and 'it'll all be worth it in the end', or 'millions of men have gone through it, so it can't be that bad!'
I've had a blow by blow account, plus show n tell of his 'after effects', which, granted, did resemble a very over-cooked large baked potato. He's done barely a thing all week, and can't walk very far. Hmmm, I got off the delivery bed to walk back to the ward, pushing baby in his goldfish bowl. Was home within hours, washing the kitchen floor, looking after the other 3 kids, cooking tea, whilst breastfeeding and doing all the usual without expecting so much as thank you, let alone a gold medal!!
Just goes to show, it's probably just as well it was left up to us girls to 'shell 'em like peas', because I think otherwise, floors would stay unwashed, children would go unfed and the human race would otherwise die out!One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -

i was rushed up to the labour ward about an hour after mr mob had been sent home. i wanted to go to the toilet and the midwife barked at me to 'hurry up and get on the bed' as i needed to go on the monitor. i burst into tears as i was
a. scared (first time birth)
b. wanted mr mob there
she then barked 'why are you crying'
stupid cow. it was a false alarm though in the end.
suprisingly, given that i swear like a trooper usually, the only swear word i uttered during birth was '!!!!' and only said it once. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -

You might be lucky! I've had 3 babies with no cuts and no stitches. Just had small tears which healed on their own, and were painless apart from stinging the first couple of days when I had a wee. Here I go again on my own....0 -
