Hmmm, for me it would have to be...
The stretchmarks. Not just on your belly - EVERYWHERE.
The almost constant thrush.
Not being comfortable. Ever.
Feeling so bloomin tired that you can't even move.
The anagonising pain of SPD.
Back ache.
Pooing and peeing whilst in labour (you couldn't care less though as your to busy concentrating on....)
the horrific pain of childbirth. I'm sorry to any pregnant ladies but no matter what the midwives tell you will help, none of it does. I had no pain relief whatsoever with my second as i didn't see the point. The midwife at the hospital kept trying to make me sit on a stupid gym ball - unless its going magic away the horrible painful contractions then shove it, AAARRRGGGHHH!
Lol, i just remembered that the midwife delivering my DS told me (at the point that his head was halfway out) 'Stop making so much noise'. Do you want to push this baby out love? The noise i was making was completely involuntary aswell, which was quite weird.
Thats another thing that no-one tells you about. You hear them mentioning a 'pressure' or 'an urge to push', but no-one tells you this urge to push is an almighty bottom exploding, insides coming out, oh my god i'm going to die type pressure. Liars, all of them! What the Deuce?0 -
when i was between pushes i was screaming with pain and the midwife just went 'screaming wont to you any good so you'd better shut up' i was so scared after that to make any noise that i burst blood vessles in my face, chest, back and eyes trying to hold it in. i looked like i was beaten up.
oh and not being able to walk without it feeling like my insides were going to fall out for about a week after the birth.0 -

My midwife told me to stop screaming too, I was in the middle of delivering a 10lb 9oz baby on just gas and air and wish Id told her to shut the f**k up rather than cry which is what I did do as I felt like a child being told off!!:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -

Yep - I was told to stop shouting too. I wish I'd have told her to shut the f up - If I ever do it again, I'll shout as much as I want to and DH will have to stand up for me if I can't do it myself.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 027

Obscene, I can't believe you were told to shut up girls. Obviously these MW's had never given birth themselves.
I was once asked to 'count quietly, in case I woke anybody else up', but it was said kindly, and only because the delivery rooms were being upgraded and I was in a temporary one on the ante natal floors.
I'm not awfullly noisy, but I do come over all 'opera'. That is when I reach screaming point, I sing it. DH is always embarassed, and the MW's generally find it amusing.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
I was told by one midwife that I was making a lot of fuss and my contractions weren't that strong according to the monitor thingy - when she finally agreed to examine me the baby's head was visible!0

Ha ha! Spot on. I've tried to explain it as being like that feeling you have when you've got the runs and it's coming out now and hitting the opposite wall whether you like it or not - but worse!
The thing that scared the bejeezuss out of me was the blood clots a day or so after giving birth. I was walking down to the special care unit and it felt like my insides had fallen out into my knickers. I ran to the nearest loo and appeared to have produced half a pound of raw liver. I thought I was dying - yuk!! The midwives must get so fed up of having to tell all the new mum's that it's all normal.0 -

She replied: "I know what you mean, when I think of the crap I would tell people before I had one of my own ..." :rotfl:0 -
Yes Suzey, the front bottom piles went as soon as I gave birth. PHEW!!!
No one should read this thread until after they have given birth!0 -
After pains is one blimmin thing they keep quiet.
When I had my second, the after pains, which felt just like contractions carried on for a fair few days, and were especially bad when I fed him.
So girls, if you are having your second baby, be prepared for labour to last for days after giving birth. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
