    Oh, and the flash backs

I nearly crashed a few weeks after having my DS as I was driving round a major and busy round about and had a sudden flashback of the second I gave birth... I freaked out and nearly drove into another car! Oops

well just read this thread through tears and laughter - and nausea - as I'm 6 weeks pregnant.

My hormones have gone haywire, my boobs hurt like hell and I've got wind like I never knew existed and all for something the size of a grain of rice that's implanted itself in me  And I have all the rest to look forward to.... :rotfl:

Thanks for sharing ladies it's been... erm... enlightening... :rotfl:
  • I had to wait to get stitched for 12 hours after the birth of baby, 35 years ago. The mid wife pressed on my abdomen as I lay on the bed and I wee`d all over the place. I didn`t think about going because I didn`t have any urges. I must have wee`d a gallon

That you "won't go into labour today and perhaps should go home" by the consultant when you've been in labour since 5am and nobody is listening!

That the information the community midwife gives you is different to that which is offered by the delivery unit. In particular that you won't be sent home after they have started inducing you.... (see above).

That when you mention that you might want something stronger than paracetamol, they finally listen to you and examine you to determine how far dilated you are, they get a surprise that you are over half way and immediately send you to the delivery suite.

That the amazing 'core' muscles that you have disappear, never to return

That they say you've officially been in labour for 14 hours, when you've actually been in pain for a lot longer

And finally, that you feel that your insides want to come out of your nether regions whenever you stand for periods of longer than 5 minutes!

None of that has put me off - I'm planning to try for another in the very near future. Next time, I'll know what to expect!
