hahaha!! Emlou I was the same, daughter had masses of hair and they couldn't get the wee electronic things to stick on her head cause of it...I didn't mean to but I shouted out really loudly 'it better not be bloody ginger' and the midwife just looked at me and laughed, she says no no it's o.k it's black, I only asked because I had a bet on with OH that she'd be dark haired but because he was born with ginger hair he thought it was going to be that colour...He's still never given me my fiver!!

LOL! I was exactly the same, no offence to any ginger people, but when DH was a child he had bright carrot red hair, after looking at photos of him as a baby I kept dreaming of a baby with bright red curly hair. As soon as the midwife said I can see the head, I was asking what colour is the hair.
My waters broke in the morning with both boys, with the 2nd I went in in the morning, they wanted to see if I was in labour, put me on a bed and midwife came in with what looked like a miners lamp on her head so she could see better!!!
  • Pregnancy's best kept secret to me was: kids don't suddenly reach 18 and become self supporting.
I am still paying through the nose for my baby boy...who is now doing a degree in forensic science. Costs me a fortune, still requires time and attention, likes me to do his washing and ironing and still lays his head on my shoulder when he feels unwell a.k.a hangover. Kids eh? who would have them lol. x

Pregnancys best kept secret for me was that morning sickness can actually mean morning noon and night from 6 weeks right through to 9 months! It was the best diet I had been on LOL!

Also I realsied that when they induce you there are no guarantees the baby will want to come! I was in hopsital for a week with them trying to induce me every second day-eventually they said one more try and then a section but luckily my dd decided that she would actually like to meet everyone! The induction process was the worst part of the whole experience it was really painful and the gel made my ladies bits hurt.....a lot!

I loved the G & A it really worked for me and I kept asking the midwife if she was ok and not too tired !!!:rotfl::rotfl:I asked her if she would like some muesli bars that I had in my bag (to keep her strength up :D)

Like someone else said I was a bit fed up pushing and gave an almighty push and my DD (9 Ibs 6) came out in oner ouch-I had to get stiches and they were worse than the actual birth!!!

Never mind it has not stopped me wanting another and as long as the weight loss goes well plan on getting pregnant next year!

I'm feeling really scared now! I'm pregnant with my first baby and had no idea what I was letting myself in for!

I'd do it all again - even the sickness that required medication, the SPD that required crutches and the 2-3 times a week monitoring I needed!

Oh yes, ir's worth it. Take our word for it, you'll forget/not care about the vast majority of any problems with your pregnancy or labour.

    Thanks for the reassurance!
I'm a little worried, but then I suppose people are worried about the unknown! I hate needles and have never had a medical procedure/operation in my life! I have such mixed feelings about the birth etc, but I really am looking forward to meeting him/her!
