I can see that there's loads going on on here.

First of all, Chalky - have a Happy Happy Happy Birthday AND I am so glad that William only has three more weeks in plaster. Loved his card that you posted on FB!

Elaine - will be thinking of you; at least the waiting around is almost over, although you are bound to be anxious.

Collieheart - welcome to you. I am so sorry to hear of your health problems, and hope you don't have to wait long for a transplant. What part of France are you living in. I live about thirty miles from Poitiers in Deux-Sevres, Poitou-Charentes. Please don't worry that you have to be at a certain skill level; it doesn't matter in any way. Anything you make will be welcome by someone in need.

Well, I have to go - we are still helping our friends and their holiday home sale, and it's all been a bit manic. It hasn't helped that we went to the house this morning and their elderly neighbour dragged DH in; she had the oldest most Frenchiest pressure cooker on the go, and couldn't open the lid. He undid it for her, then she insisted we had a 'small aperitif' which turned out to be some very potent stuff; one small glass and we nearly keeled over!

  • Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Mioliere, I'm in Marseille, PACA. Poitiers is a lovely town. My boyfriend is often at the nuclear power plant near there for work. It's lovely!

Hi Colliehertsyou............I am in rainy Brittany Welcome - I missed a load over the weekend - SIL and her Beau have now departed so perhaps I can get back to the concentrating and the other little things that keep me occupied....strawberries are plumping up in the guttering - lettuce isn't doing too well I fear but its an experiment ....if you don't try these things how will you ever know.
ELAINE - try please and just let the family look after themselves for a wee while eh? I can chase them daily for you if needed - nag of the week I am.
William will soon be out of the BIG RED PLASTER STUFF and running everybody ragged again.
Chalky - sorry I missed your birthday - was there any cake for me? See that's why I forget the birthdays - nobody is sending me cake. I did make SIL some of your cranberry oaty tray bake (for the second time) and she and I managed to scoff the lot in two days. I have a serious sweet tooth, so now she has departed I will be on lettuce for a month.
Off to walk dogs and see what is occurring in the greenhouse - there was a bird in there earlier - I hope to heck it has now departed.
    xx

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHALKY :bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:

only just logged in and almost missed it, I hope you had a lovely day doing exactly what you wanted and the sporty one spoiled you a bit(lot)but knowing him I am sure he did :) xx

psso - It must be a sort of relief for you now knowing when it will be, but try not to go worrying about your family they will cope. Granny squares are a good idea not too much to think about,
Jean - you and me both I have the sweetest tooth ever...into jelly beans at the mo not the fancy flavoured ones just the cheapo 3 for £1 ones from the supermarket ooo yummm
kathy - you made me chuckle ... then I remembered when OH and his friend used to make pear wine, I used to to Yoga with friends wife and afterwards we all had a curry and a couple of glasses of wine, lovely until later when I tried to go to bed...and the darn stairs wouldn't stay still...I will say no more but I have never laughed so much..:rotfl:

I've been sorting my stash out it was all over the place never realised I had so much and OH has been cleaning the cars, so I got loads of other stuff done as well still haven't done the ironing but I will...sometime ;)

Off to finish a UFO off now then I can have a bash at a 'little yellow duck'
Take care and love to all

    Happy Birthday, Chalky.
Hope all goes well next week, psso.

Am still busy knitting poppies. I keep trying different patterns and the finished poppies are all lined up on the shelf in the sitting room. There's still quite a bit of red yarn left so will carry on until I run out.

Psso, hope all goes well, sending hugs xx

Just booked a little break for us at our little fishing place in Lincolnshire. Got a huge discount as we are regulars now and hoping for an extra night for £25 when we get there. If I didnt have the flu I would start packing now :D Instead I will be mostly sitting knitting and concentrating on feeling better. We go on the 11th of May so not long to wait. All my work on fleabay has made it possible and Im going to buy some new clothes too.
