Well I think I got a dud Wi fit. My one just sits there gathering dust, not removing it.

Visit to the hairdresser to have the fly away mop tamed, shopping for an edible ink pen for DD1 to decorate son in law's cake. He retired from the Navy earlier this month and hits the big 40 next Wednesday so she's having a bit of a do on Saturday, so I've been roped in to help with the catering and last minute shopping.

Started sewing up the latest blanket this afternoon, just do a few squares at a time so not too boring, knitting project on the go as well, so staying busy but nothing strenuous - apart from lifting the kettle for the necessary reviving cuppas.;)

Off to snuggle in bed with the book.

Good morning everyone ... Early for me but the sun was rising and casting an orange glow right across the bedroom and it was too pretty to ignore!

Market day here today so will soon be on my way with my basket to fill with fruit and veggies. It's so annoying when you get back to the Uk and tomatoes are silly prices when they are 50 cents a kilo here. Funny shapes they may be but who cares.

Talking of bargains I went into the local cancer charity shop yesterday and there were balls of Stylecraft wool some baby soft, some double and some chunky ..... 50 cents a ball. So that has built the dwindling stash up here a bit. Even DOh could see what a bargain it was. I will probably need up making something to take back to same shop!!!

    Right news.

Ginnymrs Twins emailed me last night asking me to thank you on her behalf for the gorgeous blanket you sent to her. She can't log on here and wanted you to know it has not only arrived but she is thrilled with it.

Psso I hope that special birthday goes well. It sounds lovely and the perfect occasion to celebrate.

    jF1,psso , jeandusting!!!!please don't swear.

I had an email from the hedgehog hospital yesterday and they do indeed need more hedgehogs. They seem to sell so well and they do amazing things with hedgehogs the size of a walnut in the Intensive Care unit. I do not want to be presumptuous but if anyone does have any hedgies hibernating for me I would be ever so grateful of their arrival any day after the 4th May when we arrive home. You are so kind x x x. Xx

Well I must get a wiggle on or else this early start will slip by.
Try and do a good deed every day.

Thank you Chalky for passing on the messge from Mrs Twins. Sounds like you are keeping busy and finally relaxing xx

Im a bit wooly headed this morning as I was up at 4.30 to take DD and co to Liverpool airport. Her OH drove there nd mine drove back, Suprisingly at that time in the morning its only a 25 minute run with no traffic either way. However I thin this will be the last time hubby can do it. Time doesnt matter to us as we sleep whenever we want but its a bit too much for him. Her OH's brother will pick them up and would have taken them but his car was going in for a service today.

We were worried Dgs would be upset when we left them but he was a big boy (aided by 4 magic jelly babies - grandma's secret weapon) and said bye bye grandy and grandma, see you soon ! :T

Ive had a little nap and now Im going to sit and crochet something, the order for this first day of my holiday from them is rest. They go to the other grandads twice a year and little man thrives there, last year he found his voice there so goodness knows what he will do this year :D

Hope everyone is doing ok hugs ginny

Hi everyone. I hope you are all OK.

Chalky - it's great that William is doing well. Fingers crossed that the next x-ray confirms that he is well and truly on the mend.

Dawn -lovely to hear from you. Keep in touch when you can.

Well, I have been busy helping with the forthcoming sale and moving-out of the holiday home we look after. There has been a lot of loose ends, mainly because the owners are all in the UK so have asked me to do things like cancel utilities and the chimney sweep and so on. I keep thinking of things that need to be done. We have move out the furniture that the new owners don't want and bring it back here to sell. The owners wanted that done at the last minute but have finally realised that time is running out.

We have also been helping another friend who, sadly, has been taken in by a Russian romance scam. It was only by chance that he shared the correspondence with DH who immediately smelled a rat, luckily before our friend sent off via Western Union, the money the desperate 'girl' apparently needed to be able to come to France and meet him. He keeps getting emails from her that make him think she is genuine, but I have Googled the words she has written and they come up time and time again on scam-detection sites. Honestly, some people would rather do anything that find an honest way to earn a living, won't they, even if it means scamming decent people out of money.

Anyway, I have managed a bit of crochet in the evenings and have almost finished another blanket.

I will try and do the update tomorrow; I have the morning free, so will make a point of sitting down to do it.

Will catch up with you all tomorrow.

kathy sorry to hear your friend got sucked in by the romance scam but thankfully for him you and your DH managed to step in before he parted with any cash. i hope he finds someone worthy of his friendship closer to his home that is genuine.

roaming im afraid its true the wii, wont help with the dusting, but if you drink enough wine the dust becomes less noticable.

im home alone, Dh has gone back to work for the final shift of the week, DS2 has just gone to meet a friend for the cinema, and DD3 and her fella have just popped round to pick their veg box and my Tesc0 card up, as their car needed filling up and i had a decent fuel saving but dont buy fuel so i said they could have it.

Loving the little yellow duck idea, will definately be making some. Hve downloaded the pattern now I just have to think where to put them????

Spent my Saturday without Dgs - :j day off :D went to a vintage/foody/crafty market and bought a few treats for lunch. Then nipped to Hobby craft for some more Womens Institute yarn, lovely quality and knits up fab. Its actually hobbycraft wool with a tiny doantion to WI but I guess every bit helps.

Going to spend tomorrow being nice to myself as Oh is going to score a cricket match so packing his lunch then its free time for me - might knit ducks :rotfl:
