Shropshirelass - I know ALL about that shortest day/longest night - its my birthday!

Update - Elaine is staying in Hop-it-all over the weekend, she has three options and none of them very pleasant, but it's her decision - when she makes it I will let you know.

Hello to one and all and lots of Christmas love tucked in.
I am sorry to read of psso if there is any way to send her our love add mine in too. What a shame.

Kathyi am so sorry to read of your altered plans for Christmas. However,I hope you have a happy time and most of all that it is indeed your last one in France.

happy birthday to all those celebrating.

Well. The last week has been crazy. My DSIL and BIK decided to buy DMIL'S barn. Then decided to have it refurbished and then decided to change it from a building site to a home to host Christmas in a week. So they stayed with us after travelling from Aberdeen and every day was spent cleaning and sorting. But all is done and they have now moved in!

That gave me 2 days to get ready for my son,DDIL and the edible William ( who is more yummy than ever) to arrive from Dubai. DOH had to travel from Devon to Stansted to pick them up. Then DD2 announced she was able to get home just for the weekend from Barcelona. I was so happy about it all. So Dd1 has gone to pick her up from Bristol!!

Amongst all this my blog was attacked by computer generator spam yesterday. My email is linked to my blog comments and when I woke up this morning my email inbox was registering over 10,000 emails. I was so upset. I could have cried. But I set to and deleted all of them! So upsetting and such a waste of time.

But I picked myself up and did my last bit of shopping. I AM DONE!! And was ready when they all arrived.

I am still hooking and will try and fit in some quiet moments over the next few days but we have William's 2nd birthday party tomorrow so I don't see much progress being made.

Well dear friends as Christmas gathers pace please remember what is really important. Friendships, family and love and this thread has plenty of all of that. So, if the heat in the kitchen,or wherever gets to much log in here and we will all send the gentlest hug xx
Try and do a good deed every day.

SIL's scarf finally finished. It seems to have taken ages.It was a twisted pattern where you slip a stitch then knit one then bring the yarn forward before passing the slipped stitch over - only I kept forgetting the yarn forward bit for some reason.

I've promised to do some knitting for next years shoeboxes so have started a scarf.I've done the pattern before and although it includes cables is a lot easier than that twisted stitch.

Hi guys – I hope you are all doing well and that you're looking forward to a good Christmas – here's to a happy one!.

Thought I'd better let you know what's happening this end! I'm doing good just now - have been able to make decisions (whether they're good or poor, only time will tell but at least I've decided on a course of action.

Have sold my house in Spain and am in the process of selling my home in the UK (subject to contract) so my capital is freed off and I can sort out what I've got to grow old with - lol. I'm scheduled to move house on 30/12 - I've decided to rent now as I can't see the point in tying up thousands in property when I could enjoy spending it..............

You never know - I might even be able to start crafting properly again ( I knitted about a quarter inch of a childs hat on my latest w/end at Vanessa's).
I moved my stash (or about 95% of it) over to the new house yesterday & today trailed it all upstairs - flippin eck - there's an awful lot of it - Hee, hee, hee!!

Thank you all so much for the support I've received over the last year or so! I'll let you know how the MOVE goes

    luv

    Love to you all xx

    Hi everyone

Happy Birthday to you, Jean! I hope you have a brilliant day!

Happy Birthday to Mrs Moneypenny's DS1, too!

Chalky - sounds like you have a wonderful Christmas all set up. Hugs to William!

Poor Elaine; I hope the option she chooses is the least unpleasant and the most successful. I shall keep her well and truly in my thoughts and hope that she is soon back with her family, and feeling well.

Prfungi - wow, what a lot of big changes going on! Well done on selling both properties, and I don't blame you one bit for renting and enjoying the proceeds. It's been a tough few years for you, and you deserve a bit of peace and contentment. Good luck with the move, and with the next chapter in your life.

Well, we had a viewing yesterday. As usual, they made all the right noises, so we wait to see what happens. Once they had viewed, they stayed outside in the freezing cold with the estate agent and we peeped through the window and could see that the husband was pointing at things, so you never know! The perfect Christmas present this year would be an offer we can't refuse!

DH has a bit of a cold. He's pretty good and never makes too much fuss when he's unwell, which is not very often, and is carrying on with a job he picked up - making a gate for someone who wants it by yesterday.

I hope you all have a lovely day!

If only I had a little bit of snow!

Pam - wonderful news - newyear newhome new you
Chalky - busy busy but happy family all around has to be worth it and a wonderful birthday party too.
Kathy - keeping everything crossed that this is the ONE
Thirzah - I find cable really easy - but like you if I use slip stitch I nearly always forget the add one -
Mrs Moneypenny - hope your DS1 has a TERRIFIC DAY - I can help if he gets far too much cake!

I am awaiting the return of DH and DS from the UK today, so off course I have been up since 5am - far too much excitment going on here - they are not due till lunch time, so I have the chance to get all caught up.

Lots of love and squishy cuddles to you all will pop back a bit later.
    xx

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Jean and Mrs MP's ds1. Hope you had a fab day.

Hugs to all, am just finishing off a few bits then spending tomorrow baking bits and bobs. Thinking twinks hobknobs dipped in a little chocolate might be good and mince pies of course.

Prfungi, sounds like a great plan with the move. Hope all goes well, very exciting time for you.

Kathy have my fingers crossed for you, what a lovely start to the new year if you sell xxx
