morning all, how is everyone doing, back after hibernating for a while, site says I haven't logged on since 16th nov, where has that time gone?
for those that remember I had to have an mri scan back in nov, and the results really upset me and I've been coming to terms with the diagnosis of ehlers danlos syndrome, a rare connective tissue disorder, which is also genetic, and my boys have both been tested and found to have it also, there is no cure, just treat the symptoms as and when they arise.
on a cheerier note, been doing a fair amount of knitting, but haven't been writing down how much, so will leave updates til we start again next year.
hope everyone is as well as can be, will try and catch up with all posts soon.
love and best wishes to all

Hello chums and belated season`s greetings to all.
Just a quick call to let you know I got home from hospital on Christmas Eve. Might have been better staying in tho` as the shenanigans with british gas nearly tipped me over the edge.......:(
Anyway, I`m here and awaiting a further `urgent cardiac out patient appointment ` in the words of the consultant.
Just have to wait and see what the next step is.
Shaz, isn`t that the same thing Lou over on LH has ? Joints popping out at odd times ?
Like you I have been doing lots of knitting and crochet but always seem to miss the update, dozy woman that I am, so have quite - ahem -a large box of stuff done this year. Must try to get it sent off somewhere in the next couple of weeks.
Have to go now, can`t even sit at the puter for very long without getting tired.
Love to all.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

still haven't had time to catch up with posts, so I didn't know you had been in hospital Elaine. (((hugs))) take it easy, hope you get well soon.
not sure what illness lou has, but ehlers danlos, does cause joints to dislocate easy, it also causes lots of other things, as its a connective tissue disorder, and 97% of your body it causes lots and lots of problems, from pain, and severe tiredness, to bowel problems, heart problems, etc etc, no cure, just physio, strong pain relief and treat other symptoms as they present themselves. the girl who plays izzy in corrie, has same condition both in real life, and on screen, she it the patron of the charity, ehlers danlos support uk

Hi everyone
Elaine, good to see you posting and I am so glad that you got home in time for Christmas. Good luck with the consultant; will keep you in my thoughts.
Shaz - so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that the boys are affected, too. If they can't cure it, I really hope that you can be helped to manage it and that life can be as normal as possible.
Chalky - you must have been sad to see the family go but it sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas with them.
Jean - sorry, but I can smell you from here. Perhaps I need to be across the channel! Seriously, I hope you can have a shower soon; it must be such a pain! I hope your Friday turned up!
After a lot of rain, the sun is shining here today and the sky is mostly blue; I hope we can all say goodbye to the rain, although I know winter hasn't done its worst yet.
I'm still crocheting teddies from the simple pattern I posted; I've made different sizes by using different thicknesses of wool and different hooks, so it's becoming quite an interesting collection.
Anyway, I will do the update tomorrow, and try and get back on track to doing it every Monday, now that the festivities are almost over.
Have good days, all of you.

I am not SMELLY............. I got to be the very first in the new shower - daraaaaa
not a leak anywhere - thank goodness or I would have been running around in the buff - while it got fixed. We do have another shower downstairs but not nearly as conducive.
Glad you had a good day shopping Shaz - nab a couple of cuddles from the baby just for me.
Kathy will send you a me mail when I get a chance on the big pooter (lapdog at moment) about next years spready.
Off to do a bit a knitting on the machine - planning some slipper socks and so far I have managed a pair that would fit a 5 year old and at the other end of the spectrum GIANT feet...... I really should pay attention instead of trying to wing it.
Ye all have a terrific day
Jean

well Christmas day was great boxing day errr unique and shall I say that that part of the family will never be asked again for Christmas (oh forgot they invited themselves) they arrived 2.5 hours late - ate barely nothing - and caused a few bits of mayhem - and no-one laughed or joked or anything - all that preparation - buying food clearing up on Christmas day for that! - well never again - MIL is very cross with SIL and children as is DOH - anyway drawn a line under that one - chalked it up as experience - cleaned up and forgotten about - my DS was an absolute gem and a very well behaved lad which I am pleased about.
Am trying to have a few lazy days just knitting and pottering after the stress I had some really lovely presents and need to sort them out and tucked away - my craft room was used as santas grotto/hiding/wrapping so looks like a day after the Next sale in here so need to tidy and sort - as well the 2014 stashbust is due to start on the 1st so need to do some weighing of my stash - had some more for Christmas too :j
Anyway have wittered on enough - love to all
shropshirelass, k2tog, anakat, maytaurus, ginnyknit, pippa, and all you other lovely ladies (mind goes blank these days very quickly!!!!) hugs to you all and thinking of you - hope you are all well xxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
had a fab day with my stepson, and his family, got loads of cuddles off grandson, enough for every one of you, he is growing so much, he's only 4 month old but looks much bigger, his mummy's milk must be made of good stuff lol
they bought me a new mobile phone for xmas, and when I opened the box, it was in its own crocheted case, with my name on it, goodness how she managed that, and also the phone was already set up for me, and they'd taken a photo of grandson, and saved it as screensaver for me.
cold and wet outside, so looks like a good day for knitting and crocheting.
hugs and love to all
