morning all
roaming, i do hope your cough gets better soon
nice to hear from you Shaz, brilliant news about Dannys job, i do hope things improve for you health wise soon, hope you mum and the gorgeous little grandchild are well.
Kathy hugs to you i do feel for you and your sister it most be very distressing for you both seeing your lovely mum in such confusion and with her eyes again needing treatment. I hope things can get back to less confusion and she settles once more and can get the op so her vision can be improved again. thinking of you.
F1 have finislly managed to sort the patterns ou this morning so they will be in the post today. you do sound rushed off your feet so i hope you manage to find so time for yourself.
hugs to everyone that needs one i hope allthe poorlies are improving or at very least settling and not getting any worse.
managed to get a fair bit of the front of my christmas jumper done over the weekend and have also started reading a book by Debbie Macomber called a good yarn, has anyone read any of hers? shes a knitter and the book is about a lady who runs a wool store, once ive finished with it ill happily pass it on to someone in our little group.
went to matlock baths yesterday Ds2 had a caving day, its a lovely little town and very reasonable priced shops, had a quick look in one shop that was all beautiful felted bags and slippers it was gorgeous (managed to resist) and found a lovely place to eat - 2 veggie roast dinners for £12! you really cant beat that price can you.
hugs to allSPC~12 ot 124

Hi peeps
I seem to spend most of my time shopping lately, not my favourite occupation... well not food shopping anyway... now clothes or shoes are definitely not a chore, neither is the woolly stuff come to that
shaz - nice to see you back sorry you have been having health problems hope you are on the mend now, great news about Danny's job good for him, hows the little one getting on?
jean - hmmmm jean and vic in the sauna...whatever next :rotfl:...brings back memories going up to bed with vic fumes trailing after me and a blob under my nose, to help the breathing mom said but all it did was make me feel yuk...funny enough though it did seem to work, I do hope you feel better soon x
mrs-moneypenny - I love the Debbie Macomber books I think I've read all of the Blossom street series, I like her style of writing easy and very readable, and the way a lot of the characters stroll through the books, Hannah's list was one of my favourites so was A Turn in the Road, I picked some of them up in charity shops for 50p each a bit dogeared but intact, my friend is reading them now.
f1 -aww Thanks for asking x OH is doing ok putting on weight the consultant is pleased and said it's a good sign, he has an appointment next week and is hoping it will be every 6 months from now on. You will be able to relax a bit when you have time to yourself and I am sure you will find lots to do tidy stash, google patterns, buy new yarn...did I say buy some yarn must be a typo error :rotfl:
ginny - those magnetic letters are brilliant aren't they, our DGD's had some when they were younger and we used to find them all over the place after they had gone home, anything metal had one clinging to it.
off to make OH a cuppa and then have an hour or so with some crochet Love to all Ax0 -
I waffled on so much and forgot to say I hope you feel better soon Roamin - ooo yes Vic rubbed on the chest and a bit round the nose which was already sore from blowing plus a sore lip not a pretty site! I do love Vic or Olbas Oil use it a bit for sinus problems they don't give antibiotics/sprays now but like you use "steam inhalation". I do sometimes have to give in though and ask to have a spray. SO I hope the chesticles are better today xxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0

Just a quickie tonight before early bed.
Oooh showing my age now.
Anyone remember camphorated oil ? Used to have a bottle sitting by the fire to warm it for my brother`s chest when he was little. Had to get it rubbed on every night when he had a cold before the jammies went on. I used to get a liquorice/aniseedy type of cough mixture which had to be diluted with hot water. He wouldn`t take it -didn`t like the taste -Wimp.
Feel as if I`ve been swallowing razor blades again today -ouch. Don`t know what I`ve done to deserve another sore throat
All these bugs hanging about - bloomin pests.
Maybe the frost and snow which is forecast for the hills will kill some of them off. Hope it stays on the hillsHad the coal fire on last night for the first time this autumn...cosy.
Will have a read back and see what you`ve all been up to tomorrow.
