    :hello:
Can I ask for some help please?
I am being a Christmas Elf for a 14yr girl
    Postpals
Kim is being our “Head Elf”. She will assign an Elf (volunteer) to every child and the elf then gathers gifts up to the value of £15 and sends them in December. It is a little like the Christmas shoe box appeals we are all familiar with. Anyone of any age can be an elf, whether it’s little children picking gifts which they think someone their age would like, or adults who now have a good excuse to buy that pink fluffy present! We like to assign 2 Elves to every child as in the past people have committed to being an Elf but then not sent anything (or let us know they couldn’t continue) so that means we have 240 volunteers to find!

and wondered if any of you know ,what style of hat and scarf sets teenagers like this year, my Granddaughters are too old or too young :rotfl:

Thank you Pippa. My Dil is making this inot a real pennypinchers event but its also going to be beautiful. Im already excited, for once I will be helping with a wedding and know its truly appreciated.

Had a long day, DGS's minder was sick so we had the boy here and he was very confused as firstly its school hols, secondly he was told he was going to minders and didnt. Autistic children do not like changing plans even at 3 and a bit. So he was very ratty and slapping us but we sorted him out firmly - no smacking as he doesnt understand it. Eventually he suddenly fell asleep on the couch and woke up much better and just in time to go home :D

    Hi everyone!

Jean - hope you are feeling better now; glad there was not too much damage from the weather. Here it was just a bit windier than usual with lots of rain but yesterday was sunny and cool, and today is sunny and really cold. I had ice in the water on the bird table - the first time since last winter. We have brought our orange trees into the conservatory and I will bare-root the geraniums later and bring them in for the winter, too.

Chalky - it can't be long now until your trip to Dubai!

Ginny - how lovely of you to look after the little boy in an emergency; it must have been a relief for his mother not to have to worry about him.

Well, I made my bathroom curtains and I am really please with them and with the fact that I feel a lot more confident using the sewing machine now, so it was good practice. I need to look for other projects now!

The dining room has now been measured for floorboards and DH has been repainting the room while we wait for them to be delivered, so that will be next week sorted. We have started clearing out some of the furniture, so it's looking a bit bare now.

My Mum is having laser treatment on her eyes soon, so I hope she is not as shocked with that as she was when she had her cataract done last year. The cataract has come loose, apparently, so her vision is really poor now and the optician thinks that that is why she feels 'seasick' all the time, so we are really hoping the laser treatment does the trick. Apart from that, my sister says that Mum is becoming very much more confused these days, which is really sad. She thinks that my Dad (who died in 1969) was best friends with my dear BIL who died three months ago! We are not trying to correct her because it would distress her too much, but Jane finds it very difficult because at the moment it is all that Mum talks about.

Well, I am going to get on with the update and will post back on here when I have done it.
