Evening all
chalky - we were in Barcelona on Sunday 20th, we were off the ship at 9:00 am and checked into the hotel had a coffee then went for a wander but as is the way in Barcelona we just kept awandering and ended up on the cablecar up to the mountain, walked down and wound our way to the hotel showered changed and set off again to meet OH's brother and his wife and their 2 DGS's they had taken the lads to see the football ground...which is amazing...been a few years since we saw it ...we all sat outside a bar at the bottom of Las Ramblas and talked non stop for a couple of hours, it was so nice to meet and catch up. We didn't know until the week before we went that they would be there the same weekend as us so it was a really special meet up....Love the blanket scrumptious colours
Ginny - you sure did have a busy day but an enjoyable one, I just love pedicures, feet feel like new afterwards don't they? awww the first time I saw DGS in his uniform I went all soppy, he looked sooo cute and somehow grown up. I found a map of the US from 2006 that was in the Independant, if you want I will post it off to you, just PM me
kathy - some people set great store by the amount they spend on things barmy if you ask me, is it a sign of insecurity I ask myself...
M.E - I havent been able to get into L/H for a while now it just sends my lappy haywire then freezes, a garage worth it sounds like a job and a half but ooo all that lovely crafty stuff...heaven
off for a night in front of the TV with my crochet and a bag of jelly beans, but not the yukky tasting ones just the mor**sons cheapies yummm
Love to all Ax0 -

Welcome back, Jean -glad you survived the monsters and hope your cold gets better soon.
Welcome back, Pippa. Sounds like you had a lovely time.
Chalky - lovely blanket!
Well, today I have been mostly helping DH to measure the dining room floor for new floorboards which he is threatening to fit next week - oh, the disruption! I can't stand the thought of it. I know it will be worth doing, and it desperately needs doing, but I just wish he could do it somewhere else!
He has been doing all sorts of odd jobs and every room has had some sort of interference lately. It makes getting on with life very trying but gradually all the outstanding jobs are being sorted and we can re-advertise the house knowing that it is more or less finished.
I hope you all cope with the bad weather that is being forecast for Sunday and Monday. They are still not really sure where it will hit between the south of the UK, the north west of France, or the English Channel, so fingers crossed for everyone affected. I hope they've got it completely wrong and it doesn't happen at all.
It's been a mixture of rain and sun here, and it's still very mild which is good.

Hello everyone ... There are some lovely people on this thread. Today I gad such a lovely surprise.
pippaour paths are destined to cross . We were also in Barcelona at exactly the same time... Happy days x I am thinking of your fan with this impending storm. If you need us to go and check it just shout.
Roamin we
L done for surviving the cuddliest sorry you have caught the lurgy though . Get well soon.
f1thought of you as the cars were racing around today x
kathyso sorry you are going through it again. Hope peace reigns again soon.
I was shocked at myself today. I have a very favourite Auntie ( long story ) but I found myself in M&s today with a packet of drawer liners in my hand for her for Christmas ...... And then I realised she means so much more to me than that . So I came home and made her a
Ot holder in the softest crochet yarn in her favourite colours. So glad I saw the light .
Love to all xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
I never did get back here yesterday - but I did get another 5 seafarer earflap hats done in between the washing, drying, ironing stuff - so don't feel too bad about that!
We are due the storm sometime this afternoon/evening, so I am going to crack on with all the things that are still on my list that require any form of electricity - being stuck out here with the farmers we are the first place in France they shut down and divert the electricity to much posher (more populated) areas.
WEEKLY UPDATE
5 ADULT EARFLAP HATS FOR SEAFARERS
it most probably will be more but I can't guarantee to get back on line - my broadband is dodgy at the best of times!
Pippa - boat trip sounds fantastic - unfortunately it's something I have to do SOLO - after himself spending his life from the age of 16 on the briny sea he has NO intentions of having a holiday on anything that floats! CAN YOU put a link to the photo of your snowpeeps so ginnyknit can see them please?
Ginnyknit - glad snowpeeps are started - I cut the ribbon hanger things from the shoulders of tops I have bought - I am still wondering who thought to put them in there in the first place - the clothes don't stay on the hangers that long anyway and they always float out across your decollete at THE MOST EMBARRASSING times! I keep a wee box in the bedside cabinet just for them.
Mrs Moneypenny - mid term hols are so very nearly over - you get your life back shortly.
F1 - who is it racing around in motors this weekend then? As I can't
raise DS - he is glued to a telly somewhere or perhaps gone to see the action live!
Mioliere - I feel your pain girl - all you can hope for is that it doesn't rain at the same time as the work in progress - deep breaths and get into the zen zone eh!
CHALKY - great to see you at least listen to you instincts - me I would have bought the blessed drawer liners and then thought about a PROPER PRESENT...... am currently knitting a scarf for DWS in very pale, soft, squishy, mohair, I know in the past I have vowed never ever to use the stuff ever never ever again - but it jumped out at me from the posh yarn shop while I was down in Vannes HER NAME WRITTEN ALL OVER IT - you tell me who could resist that.
M.E. - like most on here I have had difficulties logging in on LH I manage to lurk but trying to get a posting on is extremely frustrating
Keep at that garage you can empty it one day - just hope the nuns don't have an ever greater stash hidden away for future donations.
PSSO - glad I am not the only one who is tempted by squishy yarns - so did you take the stuff back or just bung it in a corner and forget about it for the time being?
SHAZ - are you OK - not seen you around in an age, I hope you are keeping well and are very busy - that being the reason you're not on here.
Off to get stuck in to some sort of job for the day and print off a crossword, a codeword and a sudoku for the quiet moments that should keep me out of mischief - sorry if I have missed anyone, its never intentional - but like F1 I have a head like a seive or even a SIEVE !
Love and cuddles to you all - have a terrific day, keep safe from the wind (you know the kind of WIND I am referring to. Back when I can

Good morning everybody. That extra hour in bed was gorgeous. I can doze like the dormouse in Alice for a pastime.
sun is shining beautifully this morning and there are a few apples still left on the tree but the wind is beginning to whip up BIG time so we shall have a storm by the look of it.
Lovely to see so many posts on here . Jean you sound as busy as ever. I visualise you dashing about here there and everywhere at the rate of knots!
Well we have a quiet start to the day and then we are delivering the zingy blanket to my God Daughter ... She won't open it today as her birthday is next month whilst we are in Dubai . A week til we fly and see our little family. Getting a tad excited methinks.the trip has really made me get on with the "C" word which always feels great.
I reiterate Jeans'swords hope all MIA'S are just busy with life not snowed under by it .

Thank you Roamin, thats just what I was looking for and have trawled the net for ages. I have patterns somewhere but cannot for the life of me find them
Off to cut fabirc and swear at the sewing machine :rotfl:
Hope everyone is safe and dry away from the weather. I of course put a double quilt cover on the line to dry forgetting the storm was due so have to go and give it a quick wash and spin.
Hugs to all xxxxClearing the junk to travel light
