Hi guys, dont think i have sat down since I got back from up North
getting parcels sorted, doing jobs and the house looks like a bombsite  Decided to make some little rag dolls so they are cut out ready to start. Found a christening robe I brought home from my shop some time ago, it had a stain on it and was to be ragged but it had some lovely fine lace trim which will do perfectly for the dolls. keep finding bits and bobs to put on them and now decided to do some shabby angels too.
Have actually booked a craft stall for December 2nd in the evening. Its a charity event so am hoping to clear some stock.
Just spent half the day running about to supermarkets, banks, cs's and Dd's - finished for now ..insert out of breath smiley :rotfl:
Ooh Kathy, I love sorting things out like that - hence spending years managing charity shops ! Untangling things makes me relax.

Elaine - why don't you take the wool back? It shouldn't be uneven like that; it must be very disappointing to work with. Hope DS feels better soon.
I enjoyed my sorting out and was surprised by how much I actually possess in the way of ribbons and lace, so will thinking of ways to use it all up over the next couple of decades! And, Ginny, I did find it very relaxing! Tomorrow, I've decided to sort out all my sewing boxes; they are in such a state and annoyed me today when I was hunting for things.

Im sure you will find a use for it all, Ive made Christmas 4 years on the run and used mostly the stuff in my stash. When you think how much I make I dont really spend much, its only special bits and bobs that I have to get. My mum laughs at me because a shopping trip to me is 2 pieces of felt from Hobbycraft and my SIL buys 3 handbags at £90 each - well you have to have one in each colour she says :mad:Clearing the junk to travel light

Ginny, I have a SIL who spends £900 on a Mulberry handbag (why, I have no idea because the un-named non-designer bag I paid £12 for is better than hers!). She also flies her interior designer out to Cyprus to measure up for curtains. How the other half live, eh? I've always 'made' Christmas but this is my first year with a real grown-up's sewing machine, so I am thinking of other things to make besides anything crocheted! I have some lovely bits of lace that I want to use, and it's an exciting challenge thinking of what to use them for.

Hello one and all. A very tired pair of Chalky's here after nearly a 5000 mile trip. All good especially seeing Dd2. Not so good to come home to an 18 month old freezer who has given up the ghost sometime mid trip and all the food has rotted in the freezer. The smell is disgusting. Service from company no better. But hey ho. Will catch up soon xTry and do a good deed every day.0

I'm in Essex too, if you need any more help and it's not too far I would love to help
While I am here I feel I have been very lax on the charity front and am now caught up with doing Christmas stuff. So have promised myself to do at least one charity thing a month next year and post pics, so if you don't see me please shout and give me a swift kick :rotfl:

Oh my goodness that sounds like a job and a half.
I haven`t been on LH for a while, my computer nearly always freezes whenever I try. Have only managed a couple of posts lately and that was a couple of weeks ago. What am I missing ?
And are you M.E. on LH as well ? Sorry, don`t recognise the name.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
