Thank you all for the welcome back xx
kathy - I am sending gentle comforting hugs to you(((HUGS)))
jean - ouch!!! they are the worst of any bites I think, they drove me mad with the itchies a few years ago, and it took ages for the marks to fade. Thanks for the scarf link, I have a bag of all sorts just perfect for it.

Hello everyone.Confuzzled suits me perfectly too. I have just put some washing on and put the washing liquid in the fabric dispenser!!! Also bought some pillowcases and instead of two packs of two ordinary ones I now have 3 pillowcases. I was an Oxford type. What use is that I ask myself?
Mind you dSIL just phoned us on her mobile to introduce us to her new brand new grandson in America and thought she could Skype with just an ordinary call.!!!
Must be something in the air!!!
Well I hope Things have slowed down jeani could make a right mess if a trifle if I made it at that time of day. Hope your Dh as had a lovely birthday.

Well i am working with all my little balls of wool and making a scrappy Lappy. I did not think I would like them but they really are fun and I have managed to solve the overflowing small balls tin.
It has been horrible here all day and we had planned to do a car boot sale with some of the overwhelming piles of stuff from DMIL'S barn. But not to be!

spready all up to date now.
Ginnyknit - I did manage an hour relaxy-vooing while DH went out on the bike. Cake was delish (I sometimes forget to make cakes - perhaps because I want to eat the whole thing).
Anyone got a decent recipe for frozen raspberries? Seems "they all thought" I would put them into the trifle?? NOPE - I go with the traditional tin of mixed fruit in syrup and there is a tiny bit left in the fridge for whoever gets to it first today! Oh and had only one disaster - the first carton of cream ended up looking like scrambled egg... good job
I had a spare - this French cream is notorious for just not behaving.
sending you all a great big huge cuddle and lots of love for a happy MOnday

Hi everyone, I'm back. We came back late on Thursday. I've been up to my knees in laundry - the stuff that we brought back with us, and the stuff from the holiday home that we look after. A party of eight had been staying in it, so I had to collect a ton of washing (bed-linen and towels) from there, and get it washed, dried and ironed ready to go back on the beds by yesterday! It was a tall order; my poor washing machine did fourteen loads in two days. Luckily the weather was great for drying, and I spent all day yesterday ironing!
I hope you have all been keeping well; I have missed you all. I kept meaning to log in but the time just whizzed by, as it does!
Anyway, first of all, I haven't caught up with all the posts that I missed, which I will do later. I want to send special gentle hugs to Chalky because it must be such a difficult time for you. I really feel for you. I know you will miss your son and his lovely family so much, and I hope that Skype will be some compensation. It makes life away from my family much more bearable for me, and you will be surprised at how quickly William will get used to seeing you on the computer. I thank heaven for such wonderful technology.
Our time away was a huge rollercoaster of emotions. The funeral for my DBIL was absolutely perfect for him but, oh, so very moving. So many people, family and friends, turned up that they ran out of seats, and people were standing right at the back and down both sides of the room. My dear sister got up to say a few words - I don't know how she did it, and seeing her standing there looking so sad, lost, and vulnerable is something I will never forget. She's just a year younger than me and when we were at school I used to protect her if anyone picked on her; I felt so helpless seeing her up there talking about her life with him because this time I couldn't help to take her pain away. It had been a dreadful last few weeks for him, and I hate the fact that that awful disease was so cruel to them both, and their children and grandchildren. Jane has been so brave and strong. He wanted to go out to the sound of motorbikes and the crematorium was wonderful and more than happy to have his friends there on their bikes, so he got his wish.
In the same week, a great Aunt had come all the way from America with her family on a trip that had been arranged before Christmas. The visit was to see my mum because it could possibly be the last time they would meet; my great Aunt celebrated her 90th birthday with us. She is amazing for her age; she and my mum are very close, and she tries to come over every year. The trip was planned so that they could spend time together every day for the three weeks that she stayed but my other sister, the one I have mentioned before that caused so many problems last year, decided she was taking Mum back to her home miles away in Lincolnshire. We tried all we could to stop her but the staff at the care home would not get involved in a 'family feud' as they called it (regardless of Mum's state of mind), and she got her way. It meant that she is missing the last week of my great aunt's stay. My sister didn't even have the decency to offer Jane a word about her loss, and didn't even come down until after the funeral. The whole family is disgusted at her behaviour, as you can imagine. I will do something about it but not until Mum is back safe and sound, which she should be, apparently, on Thursday. I think all this will make Mum's condition even worse. And as if Jane has not been through enough; I am so angry and upset about it all. I hope you don't mind me sounding off but it is doing me good just typing it out.
I was not able to do any woolly stuff because my tendonitis flared up and affected my right hand; I'm trying to do a bit of crochet now and again and it is slowly getting better, but that was another frustration.
Apart from all that, it was good to see the family, we had some great times with the children and grandchildren, and the trip has made me all the more determined to get back for good as soon as we can. We hope to arrange another visit this year, so I'm keeping everything crossed.
We have a house viewing this morning, and another one tomorrow, so I'd better get some housework done and keep my fingers crossed. Will call back later when I've caught up on all your posts.
Thank you, Jean, for keeping the spready going; you truly are a star. I've just read that you've been bitten, so I hope you are recovering.
with love to you all

dearest Kathy, sending you and yours the most gentle and supporting hugs, im so sorry that your other sister is being like that. I cant comprehend why some people seem to want to do things designed to hurt and upset other people. I hope jane finds comfort form the fact the service was exacty as your dear bil would have wished, and im sure she will have the support of those who love her to help her through the coming months and years as she adjusts her life.
hope ive managed to write that correctly
hugs to everyone.SPC~12 ot 124

Thank you so much, Mrs Moneypenny; Jane has the most fantastic sons and daughters-in-law. Along with the grandchildren, they will take great care of her. It comforts me knowing that she is well-loved. I hated leaving her but it would have been harder if I didn't know that she had such great support.

dear Kathy, I am so glad your BIl got the funeral he wanted, how wonderful. My heart goes out to Jane, these coming months will be hard but with good family around her it will take the edge off it Im sure. You have to try and sit a little after all the emotional stuff you have been through I have to say your other sister is a nasty piece of work and her timing is terrible. Your poor Mum was quite settled and with the people who love her, now she will have to settle again. Good luck with the viewing, would be great for the outcome to be the one you want right now.
Chalky I love the idea of your SIL thinking she could skype, sounds like me :rotfl: i was terribly impressed with myself when I tweeted the other day. Am saving like mad for a tablet, apparently it will be good for me - ask DD as I dont know why. Means that hubby can sit at the pc doing cricket paperwork and I can still do stuff apparently
Am going to do a little gentle jewellry making in a minute, sciatica playing up so DD has been and hoovered while I played with DGS bless her.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Thanks, Ginnyknit. I am impressed with you tweeting; I've yet to do that! I have several friends with tablets and they all say they are really useful; I will probably get one at some point, so that DH can use it instead of taking over my laptop and messing it up - he doesn't really do computing but I don't see how he can do much damage to a tablet. Hope the sciatica eases up. DH has had that and I know how painful it can be.

Hello to everyone. I am really trying to get ack to ousting every day ... When there is a ap and I get out of the loop I don't know where to start ... If you know what I mean.
So.... kathywords fail me. I think that sister must be very jealous of you all. I think she must realise she s not a very nice person and almost continues with a self fulfilling prophesy .. Again, if you know what I mean.perhaps she is jealous of you and Jane having such lovely families.
All fingers crossed for viewings and thank you so much for thoughtful words xxxx
f1Whoo Hooo . Lovely blog posts again. Brilliant, courageous you!!!!
ginny I agree with your daughter. Tablets are great. Hope jewellery making goes well.
jeanyour cooking sounds lovely. Making me hungry though.
annakat I was thinking about you today ..hope you are ok.
I am completely hooked on Crochet Mandalas just now. I am loving making them with rich colours in cotton. They provide a good relief from the circling Granny stitches for the Lappys for DDILS Nans Nursing Home.
Love to each and every one o you xxxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi Chalky,
Thanks for thinking of me. I am working on a big project for some-one. So not been able to do any charity stuff lately. I do read, and wish everyone all the best.0
