ginny glad your DH got over his glitches, why dont you think about a hand fast as a vow renewal sometime? glad you had a good time

My first attempt sank like the original when something went horribly wrong and almost 2 years in i had to scrap it and start again. (I did cry)
been in garden all afternoon so titanic now has lit portholes with back stitch round them. when its ready to launch at least another year DH is going to get it framed for me.

will do some knitting when the light fades

    hope all are well

pleased to forum wasnt gone all weekend as we feared

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying the sunshine if you have it and staying dry indoors if you don`t.:(

It`s my weekend off so of course the weather is unpredictable. Nice and sunny yesterday so had to sit in the shade crocheting, now it`s persisssssstantly raining with rumbles of thunder. Deep joy.

Been doing lots of squares - granny variety - and sewing them up into blankets, ponchos and shoulder wraps. Making inroads into the stash mountain -can you see my halo shining ? Very satisfying and DD is impressed that I haven`t bought any new wool (ssshhh, she`s away for a few days in August so what the eye doesn`t see ........:rotfl:)

Will HAVE to purchase some new pink DK though. Her friend is having a baby in September and I`ve been asked to make a crochet blanket for her. She was convinced she was having another boy but the scan she had shows it is a little girl, so I`ll have to do something else with the 6 balls, in 3 shades of blue I bought from Marriner yarns. I only bought one ball of pink. Looks like I`ll have to go wool shopping - sigh -:D

We are `shopping` from the freezers this week for meals, trying to be good and save some pennies. Have the fridge freezer in the kitchen for the everyday veg, sausages, chicken etc and the small chest freezer in the shed with heaven knows what in it  Haven`t seen the bottom of it for a while so need to use up the stuff and defrost prior to refilling it. Could be some interesting menus ;)

Mrs MP -Well done persevering with Titanic. I haven`t done any cross stitching for several years. I have a Winnie the Pooh birth one I bought for little J (he`s 3 now) never been opened and a lovely owl with a dark background which I just know will be a challenge with my failing eyesight. As well as my glasses I`d probably need a magnifying glass :rotfl:.

Chalky - hope your nether region is a bit more comfortable.;)

Jean - hope the sweatshop is keeping you cool and the weeds haven`t taken over the polytunnel completely. Did you enjoy your shopping trip and more to the point did you have the coffee and cake ?

Ginny - hope your DH is a bit better and your stress levels are manageable.

Kathy - if you are lurking (((hugs))). Thought about you all on the 26th.

Right, I`m off to explore uncharted territory -the freezer- so `I may be some time ` as Captain Oates is supposed to have said.

Me and shops just don't get on!! As it was S-I-L's birthday on Saturday I ended up making the cake .....victoria sponge-lashings of fresh stawberries and a ton of fresh cream - it went down so well I get to make another one next week for DH (yep his birthday follows hers by one week). I am ' all tuckered out ' with this entertaining lark, so will need to rest up this week to enable me to enjoy next weekends festivities!

Ginny, glad you had a good break, and sending lots of love to you both

Mrs Moneypenny - remember to ensure you can get the Titanic out the back garden gate or you may have to resort to hiring a Crane!!

Love and cuddles to you all, hope you have some good weather too
