Hello everyone and lots of love tucked in especially those with their hands totally overflowing just now. The gentlest thoughts to those with any sadness in their lives.
It is sooooo hot here. Not complaining but my goodness ..steaming.

Things are going really well on eBay but it is a lot of hasstle. But got to be better than a car boot sale.

Went on my photography lesson yesterday. Wow!! I loved it but a lot to learn.

I am hooking with the beautiful Debbie Bliss cotton that came from the sale at Black Sherp wools. I am learning about Mandalas. Every day a school day and all that.
I am reading about Mandalas being a source of calm when meditating and someone described crocheting a mandala as a moving ,creative meditation. And it really is.
I want the cottons to go a long way and touch lots of projects so for me just now it is mandalas and dishcloths.

If anyone would like mug coaster size for Craft Fairs etc please let me know.i would willingly hook some.

    Well must get on xx
Try and do a good deed every day.

this one has such a choice - can't make his mind up!

    UPDATE

    2 hedgehogs
    2 mice -

well if I am doing the spready I had better have something to add! Still ploughing my way through the basketweave crochet blanket - yes that's the one I started in the pampervan going to the UK at the start of May - also still being distracted by the crochet bags on Lndyf's blog - talk about an addiction!

Hope you all have a lovely relaxing Sunday x

    Hi everyone

Jean, I love the mousies, and the arrangement of cheeses!

Well, we are keeping to our original plans and will be leaving for the UK on 18th July. DBIL's funeral is on 26th July. It could have been earlier but the announcement won't be in the local paper until this Thursday and my sister was worried that not everyone would know about it in time if it was any earlier. He is going off in his Grim Reaper t-shirt, jeans, and the socks he had on when my Mum accidentally caught him wandering around naked (well, naked apart from the socks) after a bath one day! We just know it would make him laugh. It will be an informal occasion at the local crematorium then up to the pub for a drink afterwards, exactly as he wanted. It will be a very sad day but we hope a celebration of his life, too.

My sister seems to be coping and she has her sons around her; she says they have been great. They're grown-ups now so are looking after her rather than the other way around, which is comforting for me to know. For all my Mum's memory problems with the Alzheimer's and dementia, she understands clearly what has happened; I had a feeling she would.

Anyway, we leave on Thursday and come back on 1st August possibly with my sister but will leave it up to her.

It has been absolutely scorching here and I hear it's the same over there. Friends of ours said they went to the Hampton Court Flower show and it was 50 degrees in the exhibitors' tents, which must be unbearable. It gets to about 36 degrees here, far too hot to sit out in for more than ten minutes.

Anyway, I will catch up on all your news when I have a minute. I've been asked to do some last minute articles about SAD, the winter blues, so want to get them done before we leave.

Hi Marianna, lovely to see you here

Jean, love the little mousie but I fear you may be about to become a neighbour of Chalky in Bonkersville, Arizona :rotfl:. You have upped the photo op ante with all that fromage!

Kathy, I smiled at the thought of DBIL in a grim reaper shirt and smiled even more at him wandering about in nowt but socks, only to be caught by your Mum! With stories like that to share over a beer afterwards, I'm sure it will be a celebration of him and his life. Thinking of you all.
  • OK Kathy, have made a note of the dates - trying to be mrs efficient (well I know that won't last). Adore the send off garb - those socks are truly special then! Boiling here - I have to be in the polytunnel VERY early in the morning and then again its VERY late at night - automatic watering will not do the weeds for me! I suppose I could time it so that me and the watering are in there at the same time - perhaps not eh!

I didn't use all MY cheese some of the stuff was really runny and smelly- the way I like it - nor the cheese board either- but perhaps with the next batch there is a slim chance that further supplies of cheese will be in the house. May have to change my nom de plume to GROMIT by the time I get through.

Love and cuddles to you all

psso - no its not the KAS one ....... and I do love that little jumper pattern but I guess you have not heard my "la la" problem with buttons ............... do I dare admit .........

I don't like sewing them on as Im always worried that I wont sew them on enough and little ones will put them in their mouth and you probably guessed the rest - there I said it I confessed :eek::eek::eek:

F1 - some ways of sewing on buttons you might like to try.

I usually do it the same way as post 6.

Kathy - how shocked your mum would have been if your BIL hadn`t had his socks on - completely starkers :rotfl:
This trip home will be even more emotional than usual but I`m sure all the hugs and kisses from your grandchildren will help.

Jean - hope the snowpeeps aren`t melting in the heat :D

Cracking on with a knitted blanket as I`ve run out of the yarn for the granny squares shoulder wrap -guess where I`m going once I get off here ?;)

DD and little J are off swimming with her friend and her wee boy so peaceful here for now - apart from the dogs barking at workmen next door.

    Back later.
