Happy birthdays and anniversarys to those celebrating. Mrs Twins love the blankie on SIBOL, as beautiful as ever.

We have decided to use some of our savings and have a short bargain break at the fishing place went to a couple of months ago. We are timing it after OH's next MRI and while we are waiting for the results. I have a nagging feeling this may be the last chance of a break for a while. I was offered the cottage at medium rate instead of high summer rate so cant miss that chance can we ? I am happy to scrimp and scrape more to afford it and I will be taking most of our food again so it wont be bad.

Glad you had William to stay Chalky, it must have been lovely xxx

Happy anniversary ladies who are celebrating - hope you have had something nice and romantic like a nice meal xxx

Kathy - good to hear the Drs are helping with the medication xx
ginnyknit - just wish we could have a whip round to help out - I know how much the holiday means to you and the family xx

I feel the need to start doing some sorting "again" (feel like the forth bridge with me sorting :rotfl:) During my days of spending pre-I want don't need days and putting money in the pots, I had a real addiction to card making so my stash is soooooooo vast and since knitting I barely touch it so the decisions are being made on what to do with it all - I don't want to loose it all but spending so much time umming and arrrgghhing about it. I think I have only brought cardmaking bits and pieces once in the past 18 months so definitely not bad for me and definitely pass on the cardmaking magazines (as I do really now on the knitting ones)

Also just realised wool often comes my way from freecycle or a bag passed to me from someone but cardmaking was always a costly affair (well at the end of my budget anyway - there was always more costly stuff available) so knitting is potentially a cheaper alternative.

So tomorrow I think I will start sorting

Hugs to all - take care xxx

Up past my ears in that cleaning lark - DS due to arrive Fri/sat - he doesn't give great details. SIL due to arrive next week and her place still isn't ready for them - I am not panicking - I am also NOT moving things into the sweatshop! So go suck eggs is what I think..........
Like Arnie - I'LL BE BACK - I could off course do an F1 - but don't think
that would help the situation one iota.

  • Hi everyone

We have a new Crafting Board you may be interested in.

We have a couple of threads on there we've moved from Old Style. We haven't moved this one yet though as it's a very long running thread on Old Style and don't want to move an Old Style "institution" without talking to you all first.

We think it would be ideal for that board and would love you to all join in over there but what are your thoughts first? Are you all dye-hard Old Stylers (pardon the crafting pun :) ) or are you up for a change of scenery and more crafting fun?
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Hi Andrea; thanks for your post. I will take a look at the new Crafting Board, so thanks for letting us know about it. I think it's a great idea to have somewhere for crafters of all kinds to go, and I'm sure it will prove really popular.

As for moving this particular thread, I shall ask the others for their thoughts. I must admit, I love the thought that we are an OS 'institution'! Ideally, it would be great to be on both boards, but I don't suppose that's practical. I imagine more crafters would find us on the new board.

All you lovely knitters and crocheters on here - what do you think about moving to a bespoke Crafting Board? Please post your thoughts!

im happy to go with the majority vote kathy
I like the idea of being an OS 'institution'! (there are days when i think i should be in one) but can see that crafters would find us easier if we were all in the same place. But it feels cosy here.
