Knit Your Square to Give Your Share - PART 4

Hi everyone. I didn't get on here yesterday because DH's brother and his family phoned to say they will be coming here from the south of France for the Easter weekend, so I've been busy getting the house ready. They arrive some time this afternoon which will be nice because it's DH's birthday today so it will be good to get together with them all.
Jean - I'm so glad that the spready link worked and that it seems everyone can read it, so I will add it to my updating posts every week. With guests here for the weekend, I may not be able to do the update until Tuesday this week. Thanks for the lovely Easter card!
PSSO - I hope you are feeling a lot better now. I always swear by Lemsips when I feel like that. Thanks for confirming that the rice thingy actually works!
Welcome to you Ceecee!
Ginnyknit - it was me who mentioned crocheting a handbag - I will experiment with a granny square version and see how it goes!
Anakat - that looks like a brilliant competition but sadly it's only open to UK residents so I can't enter. I hope someone on here wins it!
Well, BIL went into hospital for what was supposed to be a gastroscopy but when they arrived no-one at the hospital knew anything about it, even though my sister had the letter confirming what the appointment was for! Heaven only knows what was going on there but they had a real runaround and nothing got done in the end. They were hoping that something could be done to help him to feel more comfortable and to be able to eat but all they had was a day completely wasted. With time so precious, it's hard to believe a hospital could get things so wrong.
We've had some strange weather this week; we've had three or four good days with plenty of sun and mild temperatures but, without any warning, we woke up to snow yesterday. It turned into sleet after a few hours and we had a day that was more like a gloomy foggy November than March, and certainly not like it should be seeing as we are so close to the first day of summer! I hope we all get some decent weather soon.
Well, if I don't get back on here until our guests have gone, I hope you all have and happy, healthy, and peaceful Easter.

kathy - how annoying for your DSIS and BIL I hope they get something sorted for him soon, enjoy your weekend with your visitors...Tooth came out fine thanks for asking, she did 2 fillings while waiting for the anesthetic to take effect and the tooth was out before I realised, and she popped the new one in...sorted...took the painkillers as ordered and I am fine now
still keep biting on it though hard not to as it was a front tooth...

psso - I hope you feel better soon
craftycrafty - we were hoping to get down to the caravan over Easter but changed our minds its too cold maybe next week though if it cheers up a bit, I would like to get it all opened up and levelled as well, if it needs it...
A few weeks ago I made a ripple blanket for my friend's DGD and am now working on a pink/lilac granny for her, today she e'mailled me to ask if I would do another ripple and a couple more owls and hedgehogs for her nieces phew!!!
She certainly intends keeping me out of mischief, but I must say she insists on paying for the yarn which is gratefully received
Love to all A xx0 -
Happy Easter, everyone! and special thoughts for all those feeling under the weather or just not having too good a time right now.
Got up before dawn for Service of Light in our local churchyard; it was COLD!! Lovely standing round the fire with our candles lit.
The garden's looking really neglected but it's just too cold to want to do anything about it. The ponds were frozen this morning - fish swimming lazily around under the ice though. So no gardening, will get some more blanket squares done this afternoon instead.
Good luck to those planning to line the Thames for the boat race! I wouldn't fancy standing outside in these temperatures...
