Morning all
snowing here again not too bad just fine flakes
I have a dental appointment at 2pm to have a front tooth out, not looking forward to it but it has to be done,
Mom's knee op has been postponed until June now as they won't touch it until she has some tests done on her eye, they still don't know what made her temporarily lose sight in her right eye, Doc said it could have been a slight stroke but not sure.
chalky - well done on the house clearance not easy but necessary, time for you both to chillax as they say
kathy - I was so sorry to hear about your BIL he has really been through hell but I hope something can be done to help, keeping fingers crossed for the house sale
jean - hows things? hope all is well
f1 - we had visitors cancel as well, so I had a lovely day just knitting/crochet and swapping between various UFO's, and managed to finish 2 :T so there's a space in my UFO bag now
mrs-m - yes they are being put to good use with great enjoyment
ginny - I hope OH is feeling better now and you have got over the lurgy, my DGS would be pulling the stuffing out to, good idea about the liner I'll do that as well when I am nearer to finishing still have a long way to go though I keep hoping from one thing to another at the mo
shaz - must be easier for you to know where Josh is, at least now he has a few comforts from you and Mum
Moragtod - I hope things work out for your son

Well just when I needed my phone most - it's the only way my son keeps in touch - I managed to drop it in the loo last night (forgot it was in the back pocket of my jeans). Although it spent the night in the airing cupboard it wouldn't switch on this morning so it's gone in for repair, but with bank holiday weekend looming guess I'll be without it for a while. Hope DS picks up FB messages...
So many of you seem to have bigger worries than I do so it feels a bit selfish going on about minor things - sorry! - and lots of hugs to those who need them... and many thanks for all the kind thoughts.
One very touching thing - I bought a pair of sandals on Ebay from a lady who'd tried them but didn't get on with them - and when they arrived, there was a lovely little note tucked inside, wrapped around a small scented candle, thanking me for buying them! That made my day... and at least the sun appeared briefly today too - a very welcome change, even if still freezing cold.
I'm knitting and crocheting (yes, both - always several things on the go at once!) to relax a bit - but the stash doesn't seem to diminish at all! And I've not bought any for weeks - honest!
Good night one and all,Morag

I have one square left to do on the scottie dog and ran out of white wool:mad: OH laughed at me because he knows it will have to be perfect - he suggested one cream square :eek::eek: and then went and hid in the office - chicken. Anyway as an ex girl guide ( one session I survived) I had a ball of white stashed so panic over. Am going to finish it tomorrow now as I am cross eyed.
Morag, the presenter on Create and Craft dropped his phone down the loo just before he went on tv yesterday and managed to sprain his ankle trying to save it :rotfl: so its not just you.
Hope everyone has a lovely warm and peaceful Easter weekend with time to rest and see family. xxxClearing the junk to travel light

Hi everyone - I woke up early this morning so I've been surfing for the last hour or so.
Shaz - I'm glad the stairlift is now up and running. I know you feel sad having to have one but anything that makes life easier has to be a good thing. Hope Josh settles in.
Chalky - enjoy the rest.
Pippa - hope the extraction went well. Hugs to your MIL.
Moragtodd - bad luck with your mobile phone. I read somewhere that if you put a wet phone into a bag filled with uncooked rice, the rice will absorb the water over two to three days. I've never tried it, but will do if it ever happens to my phone.
Ginnyknit - I just had to laugh at your OH! Men just have no idea, do they? Mine is colour-blind so I never ask his advice about colours and, on more than one occasion, I have been so appalled by his choice of clothes that I've sent him back upstairs to change! He once bought a t-shirt that he thought was red; it was a horrid fluorescent orange but he only believed me when DIL1 asked him if he'd been 'Tangoed'!
I'm still working through my oddments of wool and have made some more IS hats but now I need to make something for a niece who will soon be eight years old - possibly a little handbag or something like that.
I hope you are all keeping safe and warm.

I have tried to add the link to the update spreadsheet to my sig, but MSE won't allow it due to abuse and mis-use (not mine!), so I will add it to a post once a week (I will aim to do it every Monday after I have done the update).
Here is the link:

Hello everyone, I`m still here - just. Been popping in lurking, just to keep up with things, but been too tired to post.
had to come on when I saw this though.
Moragtodd - bad luck with your mobile phone. I read somewhere that if you put a wet phone into a bag filled with uncooked rice, the rice will absorb the water over two to three days. I've never tried it, but will do if it ever happens to my phone.
I can confirm that it DOES WORK.
My DD dropped her phone down the toilet when she was in town the other week, fell out of her hoodie pocket. She was devastated.
When she came home we put it in a plastic box with dry rice in it, layer of rice, phone, then another layer of rice and laid it on top of the radiator. 24 hours later she was able to use it again :T
Well, still at home coughing and spluttering. Hardly been out of bed this week, no energy at all. Cold and shivery, so have been cuddled up in bed with 2 hotties, one at my feet and the other snuggled into my middle, swallowing painkillers regularly.
Thought I`d be able to go back to work today but had to phone and tell the boss I still felt like rubbish, and would be off for the rest of the week. No point in going in and passing on my germs to everyone else, although that`s how I got it. One of the youngsters came in generously coughing and sneezing eveywhere last week.
Brain is seriously foggy and I can`t recall offhand who is poorly/ has poorly rellies, so huge hugs to all who need them.
Will be back when `normal` service is resumed.;)Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
