Hello all - how are we all? Weather has been awful and there are the adverts for planting etc on the tv this weekend - homebase you will be lucky!!!!
chalky - boy you were sorted quicker than I thought you would be - sending lots of hugs to you and sporty as Im sure the task has not been easy xxx
isom - hope you are continuing to get better xx tell Mum yes the race was good - wont bore you all but our boys sadly had some problems in the Pits so had to both retire early - and nasty Vettel "overtook" Webber near the end and disobeyed team orders - Hamilton went to the wrong garage in the pits ........ so yes quite exciting - and I admire Mum for keeping up with it xx
mrs m - hmmm F1 as Ive said before not only does hubby work it we live eat sleep watch and talk about it ..... funnily the boys dont want to talk about knitting or craft as much :Dxx
kathy - Your poor BIL he is such a fighter I truly admire him - hope they can ease some of the difficulties for him and make it easier for him to eat - oh I dont want to jinx it but if they are talking money I really hope this is promising xx ps thanks for putting shawl in scarves good idea i never know whether to start a new "item" or put it in an old section, bit like squares now I just list them as "squares" but they head off in all different directions for different charities xx
morag - oh dear I hope DS's problems are sorted soon - dont forget we are all here for a sympathetic ear if you need us - so a big knitting virtual hug for you xx
ginny knit - :rotfl::rotfl:Im so sorry I should not laugh but I totally get what you were saying about hubby with the period pains it did make me laugh out loud - you couldnt have had any more on top of what you had - sounds like you are thoroughly run down - you need a good hug and a pick me up so am sending virtual one xxxx
Well here was getting ready for a long awaited visit from Mum and Dad, Sister , BIL and lovely nephew but they have decided not to come due to weather bit disappointed but it does mean the dust can stay put for a few more days :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I am really trying not to be so OCD about cleaning other than the old bones are playing me up there is more to life than cleaning (she says typing this with one hand duster and polish in the other .... old habits die hard!!!) hubby was very disappointed that they are not coming as he thought all the ironing was going to get done :eek::eek: He and I have not seen eye to eye for a week or so nothing major just a few digs here and there so obviously feeling guilty he did go to Aldi at the weekend and brought me back a ball of aran and a ball of baby wool - he had also been to charity shop and lovely lady handed him a bag with a few rescued balls in for me too - so my stash is increasing far more than its decreasing ..............needless to say Ive made him a cake yesterday and one today for him to take to work for tomorrows meeting - I am having a good success rate with Mary Berry's All In One Method receipe
Better be off and settle down for the night with my woolly stuff and a cuppa - hugs and love to all xxxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

but Oh my goodness I have missed my quiet hooky moments and sharing special thoughts with you lovely lot xxxxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
hugs to all the poorlies, and the poorly loved ones, and those going thru a hard time just now.
hopefully seeing josh this afternoon, me and my mum have bought him a few basic things, i've got him a duvet, and some bedding, its too cold just now to manage without one, and mum has bought him a kettle, and some cups, we've also got him some basics food items too, as he says he has no money, we're not entirely sure wether to believe him as he has told us this before, then later hes had expensive new mobile phone.
am happy today, got a phone call last night, telling me my stairlift is ready, and the man was coming at half 8 in the morning. well he did turn up, i slept in lol, so had to answer the door in my nightclothes, but he is working hard to get it installed for me, and i'm keeping him happy with endless supply of tea.
at mo i'm knitting baby hats with some lovely lemon 4 ply, a change from the teddies. and its a lovely colour for such a cold snowy day
love to all

Hi everyone
Chalky - enjoy your quiet moments!
Jean - thanks for the emails!
Shaz - I hope things work out for Josh. I hope also that you are soon able to use that stairlift!
DundeeDoll - welcome to you! I'm sure you will enjoy it here!
F1- hope things are better between you and DH now; I think the badweather gets everyone down especially when it goes on for so long.
Moragtodd - I hope things work out so that you don't have to worry so much about your son.
We're still waiting to hear how BIL has been getting on in hospital; hopefully, they'll have found a way to make life a bit more bearable for him.
I hate to say it but it's a lovely sunny day here today and the temperature is already 20 degrees +, but the night-time temperature is forecast to have a 'real feel' of minus 5. It still gets down to freezing at night and in the early morning. The rest of the week, apart from tomorrow, looks like it will be very wet, so we will make the most of it. What a long long winter it's been. I can't believe some of the pictures I am seeing in the newspapers of the snow in some parts of the UK.
Well, my hooky stuff this week is to finish off a summery garland I am making for my mum to cheer her up. I am making flowers for it now, and just have to remember where I put the buttons I bought for it (in the shape of ladybirds and bumblebees), which should finish it off nicely.
Keep warm and safe, all of you.

Kathy forgot to send good wishes for your BIL, I hope they can make him more comfy. Am also crossing my fingers that the land sale goes through for you, red tape is worse over there I hear.
Had a scary day with OH yesterday, thought he had a small stroke but the symptoms went away and left several doctors baffled and me exhausted. He is resting at the moment.
F1 hope Hubby sorts himself out, men are a royal pain in the bum aren't they? OH's last guilt trip netted me a little guilotine for my card making as the big one was ruined by him chucking it in the office any old way so it warped.
Shaz I would love a stairlift, my life would be complete. Apart from Hubby using it , I could put the washing basket on it, send it up then shout DS to take it in my room instead of waiting for him to remember to carry it up for me :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light

Ginnyknit - thanks for your kind wishes for my BIL. Hope your OH is feeling better now; that must have been quite a scare for you both.

Thank you too kathy, yes OH is doing ok and his temper has improved too
I have not wasted my day whilst he slept, I have nearly finished the Scotty dog cushion, just on the gusset now :j I think I will make a cotton liner for it as DGS would probably pull the stuffing out through the holes but that should be very easy due to the simple shape of the whole thing. Hugs to all x

met up with joshua yesterday afternoon, and took him back to his place with the things we had bought him. to say i was shocked at the place he is living, its a tiny room with a single bed, small fridge, mini oven with two rings(which at present dont work) a clothes rail, and a sink, and the rent is over a £100, shared bathroom which has brown stuff smeared on walls its horrible, but hes happy, and can have his gf stay over 5 nights a week.
stairlift is all working, and makeing life easier, but still got a bit upset, silly really, but having a stairlift at my age(42) was not what i expected, still i'm thankful for my life, there are so
many worse off.
kathy, hope they make bil more comfortable
ginnyknit, hope dh is better in himself today
mrs mp, hope you enjoyed your extra long knitting session
love to all
