Hi all it's a lovely day here cold but sunny and dry so thats a step in the right direction.
We were supposed to be going down to see DS1/DIL and DGD's in West Sussex this weekend but they are all down with really bad colds poor things.

Its been manic here trying to get things organised for Moms hospital stay, and after-care, she will need someone with her for 24 to 48 hours when she gets home, depending when she comes out I will be able to do that then my sister can take over.
OH and I will do all the hospital visiting twice a day to make it easier for the others.

I went the Doctors thursday about a couple of things, I had nervous eczema years ago and thought this small rash was that back again but she said it's Psoriasis and what have I been worrying about, well that wasn't easy but I told her about mom and everything else, I said I was going to cancel our holiday she said no dont as it's not certain that the op will go ahead until the day mom goes in, and the way I am looking she said I need to get away and let someone else take over.
Then she had a look at my heel, it started hurting a few weeks ago and was getting so bad I could hardly walk at times, I couldn't stand it any longer, it's Bursitis(sp)? she said and gave me co-codamol and said to use an anti inflamitary gel, so fingers crossed it works.
I don't like this getting old it's no fun there is always a bit that hurts ;):rotfl:

mrs-m - did you enjoy your valentines dinner?
kathy - hope all is well for you and your family, it wont be long before you will be home for a while
jean - sounds like you are a bit run down, that's what my nan always said when a cold sore appeared, me I reckon a nice tot of the hard stuff works wonders :rotfl:
chalky - have a lovely time you two and relax....we are looking forward to meeting up when we get down to the caravan in a few weeks xx
ginny - hope your OH is feeling a little more comfortable now x
crafty - love the pillow colours are just right for a boy :)
shaz - so pleased you are healing nicely now
f1 - can you not just drop the odd hint or two like errrmmm, "Oh dear I have run out of ........." whatever colour you have spied lurking in the cupboard :rotfl:

Well I must away my woolly stuff is calling me ...I have sooo many ufo's they are bulging out from beside of the sofa.
I've made a list and am trying to work through it but I keep seeing new patterns and weeell you all know the story :o

    Love to all

ooo sorry about the ramble x

I think I have been slow to welcome new friends of late, so sorry but you are very welcome.

can anyone explain why the tension on my little squares of the big blanket vary yet in general it never does on my granny squares. I think it must be because I have not worked it in sets of three but in single trebles IYKWIM so frustrating
Try and do a good deed every day.

barn is in total chaos..... I have had to pack away the WHOLE OF THE SWEATSHOP - not a happy bunny. Dear Sister in Law has ordered all her new kitchen units, white goods, floor tiles and dining room furniture to be delivered here..... - starting next Friday and no chance of getting them into their renovation (just up the road) much before the summer I am GUTTED to say the least - seems the longest wait is for the floor tiles so that really has stuffed me up . I have nabbed a domestic sewing machine, one pair of scissors and some white thread, if I can get back into the stash for some material I promise to be very good and not make too much mess - do you all see what kinds of pressure I am under? I am using lavender and tea trea oil mix for the mouth - heck knows what they call the zavorax (sp) stuff here and I don't want the whole village knowing what I have - yep the chemists is the font of all knowledge in my neck of the woods!! When are you back home Chalky - I can sort out a button shapes thing for wee Sweet William - I would love to do that for you.

 Rant alert......... I`m sitting here fuming.

Have just returned from the local hotel where we were having a party to celebrate my `baby`s` 21st birthday - little J`s mum that is. (OK it`s not officially till Wednesday but the hotel was booked up next weekend)

Now it was always going to be an emotional time for me as it was where Jim and I had our wedding reception, various birthday /anniversary meals etc and also the tea after his funeral. However, the smile was pinned on and best foot forward.

This is where the  comes in. There were about 50 adults invited plus all the grandchildren of course and most of them had said they would be there. So why on the night, do they not turn up ? All 20 of them can`t be ill at the same time can they - that would be tooo much of a coincidence and of course some folk just didn`t even reply to the invitation. How rude is that ?
Or am I just old fashioned expecting a response to an RSVP ?
Manners cost nothing and a simple phone call, or text even, to say yes or no wouldn`t take long.

Anyway, DD seemed to enjoy herself despite the low numbers and she`s away into Town with her chums to prolong the party. I`m back home with the wee man. He fell asleep in the car waiting for me to say goodbye to the rest of the family, bless him. He enjoyed mummy`s party anyway and there`s still lots of cake for him to eat.

Sorry for the rant but I had to get it off my chest before I blew a gasket ;)
Better get off to bed now I suppose, now that I have calmed down a bit.

  • BU66ER - wish I had booked a flight last week, Elaine no wonder you are in
rant mode, what an abysmal, shoddy lot they are - don't let them off the hook. Tell the whole of the toon who didn't attend and embarrass the whole lot o' them.

Oh and well done for the pasted on smile - I knew you could do it.

  • morning everyone, hope everyone is as well as they can be

pippa, hope you are feeling calmer this morning. it was very rude of people not to rsvp, and for so many not to turn up. at least your daughter enjoyed her party and thats the main thing

jean, sounds like you are under a lot of stress just now, take a deep breathe and count to ten

chalky, sounds like you are having a lovely time, which you really deserve. still get upset with the way the boys are, josh turned up last sunday wanting money and declaring that he had been kicked out from where he was living, i advised him to go to police station, to see if they could help, they contacted social services, and they found him a bed for the nite, and then the next day, they sorted him with a room in a supported house, which he actually text me, and thanked me for the advice.
mum still not good, she sees consultant on tues for test results, then we'll find out which ops she is having done next.

pippa, go on holiday you need to rest, and then you'll be stronger ready for caring for your mum

    hugs all
