Dear chalky, I have to confess emotional me had tears reading your post I just dont know what to say but am pleased that you and Sporty are off for a break hope the time away together is just what you need, I could not begin to imagine what it will feel like it breaks my heart when I do get to see Mum and Dad and they are only 60 miles away but due to circumstances we see them very rarely so lord alone knows what it would be like to be the other side of the world - lots of love and hugs are coming your way and as Pippa said I only wish they were not virtual but real hugs - will be thinking of you xxxxxxxxxxxx

ginnyknit - was sorry to hear that DH has been rough today hopefully tomorrow will bring a bit more energy. I agree I cant imagine sitting doing nothing my MIL used to knit but has not for some time (yes I have got my eye on her stash .....:rotfl: Im awful arnt I!) and since FIL had his treatment for cancer and was really poorly mentally after all they do is sit, they pop to local garden centre or little Tesco or really anywhere they can get a lunch (she also does very little cooking) the only thing she enjoys really are her cruises - my Mum is very crafty and likes to bake so she is always doing something and Dad too pottering around, reading, he is mad on exercise etc so if they stay in they have plenty to do but MIL hates not going out and has nothing to do in home. Sending you also lots of hugs xxx

After seeing chalkys sad news I really dont know what else to say but hope everyone else is ok at the moment and for those having trouble or poorlie thinking of you and sending hugs xxxx

Oh blimey Chalky, it`s just one thing after another isn`t it. You must be feeling as if all the carp things are falling on your head at the moment.
You need a REALLY BIG brolly to shield you from any more. I asked the GP if he could prescribe one for me not long after Jim died and we discovered DD was pregnant with little J and LIFE was just sooooo horrible. Unfortunately they aren`t available on prescription :(

Hope the Spanish weather cheers you up a bit - it MUST be warmer than it is here. We`ve got snow as well today, think it seems to be all over the country.

Ginny, hope DH is a bit better now. Not good when they are under par.
I`d be cracking up completely if I didn`t have my knitting or crochet to do. I`m not one for TV watching, only a few programmes that I watch, although I love reading and love to curl up with a good book.

F1 - get your eyes off MIL`s stash !! Use up your own first my girl or I`ll have to get into my wee motor and come and sort you out :D

Socky - hope you aren`t doing too much knitting and hurting your hand/wrist/arm. Can you tell my memory can`t quite remember what was painful ?

ISOM - take it easy and look after yourself.

Brain is fogging now so I`ll love ya and leave ya. Huge squishy hugs for all of you who need them.

    Hi everyone

Chalky - I hope you have arrived safely in Spain. I really feel for you about your son and his family moving away; believe me I know how painful it is to be far away from precious loved ones, but I promise you that Skype will help a great deal, and it will mean that William will still know the real you. Of course, it's not like being there with them, but it is the next best thing and has definitely helped me. Hugs to you.

Pippa - I hope you are feeling better now.

Ginnyknit - hope your OH has a better day today.

Mrs Moneypenny - I think you're right about the need for a group hug.

Crafty - love the pillow; it's really sophisticated and ideal for a boy.

ISOM - hope your boiler and water problems are over now.

I hope that the snow isn't too bad in the UK. It's been really cold here lately but the sun has actually put in an appearance over the last two days and I even managed to hang some washing on the line, which is something that has been impossible for the last couple of months.

I have no further news on the family front other than that my Mum is still doing really well, and BIL is 'reasonable' as my sister puts it- 'reasonable' is good considering how ill he is, so we are grateful for that.

Nothing much is going on here. I have crocheted some more baby hats but am running out of suitable colours. I think I have enough to keep me going until we visit the UK at the end of March, though, but I can't wait to visit my favourite wool shop again.

I hope you all have a fantastic day.

  • kathy, good to hear that your mum is doing really well, and enjoys the activities in the home. sorry to hear that your bil is so ill, but at least he is being positive just now (((hugs)))

all the snow here has washed away with all the rain we had last night, which is a blessin g, as i am going to my craft group this afternoon. my wrist and hand are healing very well now, and i am almost back to full speed with the knitting. i do take more regular breaks now than i used to, as i still get twinges if i overdo it. loving having a kindle and read lots in between knitting.

    love and hugs to all

  • kathy glad you mum is settled and doing so well, best wishes to your bil it is such a sad and difficult time for you all
SK all our snow has gone as well, i normally love snow but our DD had booked a holiday in new york with her fiancee so you can imagine her panic on friday when all flights to NY were cancelled due to bad weather thankfully they flew off early hours of tuesday and landed safely, i got a text to reassure me they were safe the hotel was lovely and they'd enjoyed a bus trip round manhattan. they booked it this week so they could spend valentines in the 'big apple'

hugs to all that need them, im busy cleaning at mo so house looks presentable for romantic meal in tonight. well as romantic as you can get with 2 teenage boys playing on the xbox while youre eating LOL

Once again thank you, thank you and thank you again for being such a lovely lot. Friends in deed of the best variety.
Your support has meant a great deal to me of late. I think of you so often xxxx

Well we had a brilliant trip down, with no problems and the sky is blue and the sun is shining so I am simply going to relax(hook a little) and let the Spanish life recharge my batteries so that I am better able to cope with everything.

I do send the same good wishes that you have all sent me straight back to each and everyone of you because I know so much has been going on for so many of us of late.

Back to woolly things in next post .. I promise xxxx
Try and do a good deed every day.
