Afternoon all
Sorry been MIA for a few days been a lot going on.
I've not been feeling quite right IYKWIM not ill exactly but sort of under the weather for a while now.
DGS came for a sleepover on Friday we picked him up from school we all had a great time he is full of fun, we popped into the caravan shop on the way home on Saturday...he loved it in and out of all the tents, trying all the chairs and endless questions he was fast asleep by the time we got him home.
Mom is having a knee replacement on 20thFeb and the run up to it is...tiring to say the least...we were a bit surprised but pleased they are doing it at her age(91) at least it should give her some relief from the pain, she sould be in for 3 or 4 days depending how it all goes. ROCS are coming in after she gets home to do the Physio, and they will make sure all is as it should be.
We are booked to go on holiday to Spain on 26thFeb I was all for cancelling it but she wouldn't hear of it, my sister will be coming up and my neice will there as well so they said just go, so we are going OH is really looking forward to it. We are meeting up with a couple we met there 6 years ago we all seemed to hit it off right from the first day,we have kept in touch and have met up same place, same hotel, every year since.
I have done some knitty stuff and a couple of owls for my friend and some squares for MrsTwins stash. DGS wanted a teddy bears picnic from the Jean Greenhow book, so thats done but ooo those little sandwiches are so fiddly....but he loves it as far as he has seen...and thats the main thing.
I am sending lots of love and gentle (((hugs))) for you all, Take care everyone and keep warm

Hello and lots of love to one and all xxx
I would just like to reiterate my thanks to you all for the support you have offered in recent weeks.
We are off to Spain today for a break ans some much needed relaxation time. Hook will be by my side.
Amongst all the adjustment needed following MIL's death our Ds,DDIL and William have announced they are moving to Dubai. Our son has been very unhappy in his job for a long time. So sad,and we are very proud that he has been proactive in making a change. But my quiet, deeply felt sadness at them being so far away is being keenly felt just now. We only have one grandchild and he was patiently awaited. He ihas brought the whole family joy beyond measure so as the song goes "the times they are achanging"
Of course I keep telling myself "you can not live your life through your children and grandchildren" "there is Skype" etc, etc. and all that is true. And of course we will adjust but right now tears are as close as breaths.

chalky - I can sort of understand how you feel, our DGD's are in Haywards Heath 3 hours away from us and that wrenches the heart each time we have to say goodbye. It is such a shame it had to come when things are still raw for you both, but good for your DS and his family for doing something about his unhappiness at his job, it is very brave of them to go start a new life in another country... Doesn't make it any easier but as you say skype is there so you can tune in and see William and have a chat and a chuckle at his latest antics. Just wish I could give you both this in person (((HUG))) xx Safe journey and have a lovely relaxing time in Spain
Love

Chalky I hope the weather is kind to you in Spain, you certainly deserve it hunny. My heart would break in 2 if DD and Dgs went away but would put a brave face on it like you. We give them roots and we give them wings as they say.
OH is bad today. he got up for an hour and we went to pick little man up from group but as soon as we dropped them off and got home he went back to bed. What do people do all day that don't knit or do crafts? I would be a basket case without it. Apart from nipping to the market on the bus and the trip to pick DGs up taday we havent been out of the house since Thursday I think. Im officially hibernating :rotfl: still I consider myself lucky to be able to do what I please and be warm and cosy.
Hugs to all xxClearing the junk to travel light
