    Hi

Sorry been absent again for a while. been a bit sad here. My dad who's been ill for a long while passed away at the beginning of January, so I've been busy with mum helping with funeral arrangements. I was with him when he passed, and it was all very peaceful. To him it's a happy relief, and we're all glad he's no longer captive to a body that no longer functioned properly, but, it's very sad not having him with us anymore :-(

Anyway. I've been busy making chunky socks for my girls. On my third pair now, three more to go lol. Not really worth doing chunky socks for my daughter in Alabama USA. They don't get enough cold weather lol. though they have had snow, this will be the third year in a row. Snow is usual for that part of the USA. It doesn't last long though.

Well. I've finally got a craft group up and running :-) Not many of us at the moment, but it's formed, so that's the main thing :-) Meet at my house mainly, weekly, then once a month at our local Costa :-)

Be blessed and prosperous :-) Hugs to all in need. ((((hugs)))) love you all.

    A work in progress :D

Salome, my deepest condolences to you and your family. it is very difficult isnt it missing a person but in a way glad that they are at peace and no longer suffering.
The selfish part of me would love to have my fil and darling little lily back but only they knew how difficult it was to bear their pain so as hard as it is to let go and however much i miss them i tell myself they are no longer suffering. i hope that all makes sense, hugs and supporting good wishes to you.
im so glad your little crafting group is taking off, i wish i lived close enough to join it. As for socks you are definately a braver and better woman than me to do them, i knitted one thing on dpn that was a little hat for lily and t definately was a labour of love not to be repeated. Im a lefty and to watch me knit is i have been told quite amusing, i cant hold both needles so the right hand is used to wrap the wool while that needle is wedged in my hip, not good with dpns i can assure you. i look the most awakard and clumsy knitter but my theory is as long as it turns out ok and someone can use it im happy

love and hugs to you all

jean so glad you can get AF in france, ive never used it myself but have read very good things on here, hope you an get all you want

Salome, sorry for your loss even though it was a blessed release - I fully understand your feelings as I have felt like that myself.

Mrs MP glad you are warm and cosy again.

Roamin, I love the hat, so easy and cute too. May have to go and make one or two myself!

I have the Landlords workmen fencing my front and back gardens so am a very happy ginny at the moment. They are great workers and never really disturb us and are very thoughtful too. I will have a little driveway at the front soon so no more carrying shopping across a slippy muddy grass verge, down the path and then tracking mud into the house. I can also get heavy stuff from the back of the car into the doorway easily too :j:j

Oh not to bad this week after a lousy weekend again. I packed hospital bags on friday night and made butties for myself to grab if needed but luckily sorted out the problem myself and we stayed home. Im really really tired but my spirits are good.

Hugs to all my dear friends xxx

  • Back from France today to an overheated house (lodger had turned the heating up much too high while we were away!) but better than freezing.

Anyway now I'm back will get to my stash and see what looks suitable for some SIBOL squares. I've been working on a couple of very different blankets while away, one in squares (great to get on with while travelling - thirteen 6" squares done during the drive from the south of France up to Calais) and another where each piece is worked based on the previous one, so too big to carry around. Wonder if I'll ever get either of them finished? Trouble is whatever I'm working on seems to give me ideas for different projects, then I'm longing to start on the new ideas and find it hard to get the existing ones completed....!

Glad to be back to my usual computer and will really try and work on getting to know all these group things better - so I can understand what all the messages are about - need a shorthand dictionary!!!

Best wishes to all those not feeling 100% at the moment; hope for some spring weather soon.
