Welcome Laura and lucy! Lovely to have you with us!
Happy new year all! Am here but been lurgyfied so not much in the way of hookyness done but lots of sleep; back to work tomorrow :( Lots of resolutions made but this year think some may actually be doable; pay credit card off; loose weight and have me some fun! Alcohol ban in the week begins (not good for weight loss and pouchie not that tolerant of it!). Started a new blanket for a friend who is in much need of a continuous hug as a relative is v poorly.
Chalky so sorry to hear that things are tough at the mo for you; praying they return to less horrible soon.
Hope that this year is a great one with lots of happyness, good health and less stress...lots of love to all xx

morning all, hope everyone is ok, its quiet in here, hope your all busy knitting or doing something equally nice.
broke my new years resolution yesterday, and bought some gorgeous stripey baby wool, planning to knit a baby blanket with it. was planning on staying away from wool shops for a while, but a neighbour told me about a new craft group, so i went there with her, and then visited the shops together, not that i need any encouragement lol
went to see my gp yesterday morning as my knees are getting worse and more painful, have to go to hospital for x rays and then he is refering me to knee surgeon. i turned op down last year, but i am becoming less mobile than i used to be, so will have to have it done this year:( dont like hospitals
    love to all

Hi folks. I joined the thread a while back but although I've dipped in from time to time I've not made any postings... was really really busy in 2012 and didn't have the time to keep up with everything. However I've recently retired (hooray!!) and hope I will now find more time for all the things I enjoy doing.
I knit, sew and crochet, and have made quite a few things to sell on behalf of my local church, which has an ongoing fundraising need for building work. I also did some "fish'n'chip baby" jumpers last year, then had trouble finding where to send them. I did find someone eventually, but it meant a bit more work, as they wanted hats as well as the jumpers!
We live in London but have a second home in France so now that I'm retired we'll be spending more time there - always good to have some knitting or crochet on the go when travelling...
I've always got more projects on the go than I should have, as I'm much better at starting things off than at finishing them!!
Hope to keep up to date with the group in future,
Happy New Year to you all!

Afternoon all...very quiet in here...I have been sooo busy one way and another the last few days...

This year we didn't buy Christmas presents for each other we decided on a holiday so we are off on Sunday to Spain for a week, to Fuengirola we have been there before but its been over 20 years so it will have changed loads. I am sooo looking forward to it some sunshine will be most welcome

Hello and welcome to you lucylollipop it sounds like you have been busy with the needles :)
Hi moragtodd you will fit in real well here most of us have UFO's [STRIKE]stuffed[/STRIKE] placed carefully away ;)
jean - lovely card thank you, I love jacquie lawson cards. Are you still chasing the cows round the field...;)
chalky - Glad to hear all is well with your eyes now and the world looks shiny and new :) hope your dmil is on the mend
kathy - I hope all is well in your neck of the woods
shaz - nooo I don't think you actually broke it just stretched it a bit, and I am sure baby wool is exempt anyway ;):rotfl:

I have made a few flower brooches, purses and other bits and pieces for Moms friends in the sheltered housing where she lives, she has been asking me for ages and I finally said yes ok, I've been so busy and really didn't want to start doing anything else, but I bowed to pressure and gave in, I took them over to her this morning.

The mohair throw/wrap isn't working, the colours seem all wrong, I only have one ball each of most of them as it was all gifted so range is limited...but I will have a re-think another time, can't be doing with it at the mo....

Well better go and get some packing done TTFN
Lots of love to everyone and I hope this year is good for you all

i must share the news i got a christmas with you all, i have felt like but resisted the urge to do three laps of the forum with my t shirt over my head cheering loudly but the news really is that wonderful i am tempted. my uber beautiful and dearly loved little niece is to get a little brother or sister. While darling lily will never be replaced and always has a speacial place in every heart in our family i am really thrilled for my brother and his family.

ww Mrs Mp thats wonderful news about the baby.

All quiet here, trying to de-clutter and get by without spending money -:rotfl: little boy with his finger in a dyke springs to mind!

Have knitted half a monkey, 3/4 of a rabbit and crochetted round squares this week. My mojo is still missing but am keeping busy. Been for new glasses so am waiting for them so I can read small print and destructions for things. My left eye doesnt really work much so have to keep the right eye happy with pretty new frames :D

OH sleeps a few hours at a time all day and night now so have to rush about inbetween and am learning to be very very organised. Ds has the flu, well possibly man flu but ill enough to stay off work and worry all day that his team are messing about while he is away. But he has just put the Christmas decs in the loft - the first time in 3 years :j:j:j:j so less junk for me to fall over (as I do a lot).

Hugs to all in need ginny
