Mrs MP so glad it went well, pocket money prices are good when its a school fair and the things I sent were for you to do as you wish with them. Im happy the little girl got a nice gift off you, she will remember that. I love the onesie knitting, :rotfl: was the egg a boy or a girl?
Forgetfulness is hard work isnt it, I have to be very patient with my Mum, who though hale and hearty at 82 forgets stuff as does OH.
Just made a patchwork jam and coconut tart with the leftover pastry from tea and boy is it yummy. Lots still to do but most of it consists of sitting crocheting so I can keep warm

f1 - Well done on the christmas gift bargains, I see nothing wrong with it at all its very OS and your DS will be sooo pleased on Christmas day. Hope your OH is feeling ok. Sorry for the ramble0 -
Hi everyone.
Sorry haven't posted for a while. I do look in on you all. Things busy here. We've had a lot of problems regarding my dad and the care home he's in that has had a very bad CQC report. Consequently mum's been very upset, so things a bit high pressured :-( Hopefully things will be resolved soon. We have wedding coming up in May. One of my daughter's getting wed. Wants a laid back budget wedding, for the reception, it's a bring to the table instead of a wedding present option. It's fun looking to see where we can make a saving and get a bargain :-) Surprising as well how many people seem happy to offer their services as a present :-) Thankfully, she doesn't want a knitted dress :-D lol
have a blessed and prosperous evening. Hugs to all in need of one ((((hugs)))) Love yo all.

Hi everyone
Lots of love tucked in for each and everyone.
I have been thinking!!!!!! DOh always gets worried !!!!!
Anyway with having to be a bit quieter than normal I have been doing a quiet bit of hooking ..... As I do.n
And I got to thinking about Lappycuddlyghans. I have finished two and know Mrs TWins has deservedly packed up 'til Jan 1st.
There is a retirement home in the village where a lot of Alzheimer's patients go. So I sent them an email explaining about Lappys and wondered if any of their residents never had any visitors and were not going to get a present at Christmas. They immediately responded saying they had 4 such patients. Well, I did not want to put myself under any extra pressure to make 2 more. Then I thought of the charity near here called Hannah's and remembered they have crochet blankets in their shop so I popped in and bought 2 lovely ones for £4 each and that has solved the problem and helped Hannah's too. Quite funny really as they email me when they are getting short of Lappys but mine had all gone today!!! So I bet I get an email from them tomorrow asking for some more!!!!
Then talking of things in 4's. 4 old horseshoes appeared on my kitchen work top via Dd2 this morning. I asked her why and she said a friend had asked her to do something crafty with them to sell at the HOrse and Pony CHarity Christmas Fayre. Well you can guess who has been promoted to that job especially as she is leaving for Miami on Monday!
So I will keep on keeping on and send love to one and all. Hope CHristmas is not overwhelming anyone. Some last minute gift ideas on my blog if you fancy a look. I still have not got to grip with photos yet. Too busy multiplying LAppys and transforming horseshoes!!!!!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
that was such a lovely thing to do chalky, you are so kind.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi everyone from a freezing cold France. It's been lovely and sunny but oh so very cold for the last few days. I haven't been venturing very far.
Chalky - good luck with the horseshoes! Hope DD2 enjoys Miami!
Jean - how's the weather in your part of France?
Salome - hope things improve for your Dad. My Mum's residential home is lovely, so I can only imagine how worrying a bad CQC report can be. It's such a shame that the homes need such monitoring; they should all be run in the best interests of the residents.
Mrs Moneypenny - that was a great result from the craft fayre. Well done!
Pippa - thanks for the hug!
BIL starts his new round of chemo tomorrow, so we are keeping everything crossed. My Mum is just getting more and more confused by the day now. She can't be treated for the Alzheimer's because of other health problems, which is why the decline is so fast. My sister did manage to get her out the other day for the first time since we were there in September; the thing is, she really hates the cold weather so this is the worst time of year for her. I have been thinking what to make her for Christmas and I thought a couple of garlands would be nice to hang up in her room, so I am doing one in a Christmas theme and one in spring and summer colours that she can hang up straight after Christmas when all the decorations come down. I haven't started them yet because I am finishing off the dolls I am making for DGDs 2 and 3, but I have been scanning Pinterest for patterns and have lots of ideas. I know it's the kind of thing she will appreciate.
Well, I think I'll make another cuppa and go and sit in front of the fire with my crochet; I have two matching dolls each with all their clothes on but no heads. DH says they spook him out because I keep them propped up on the sofa; he can't wait until I put the heads on but I am doing the hair first!
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
