Shaz - glad your Mum is through her op, and laying the law down. It seems to have been a massive complicated procedure. Pleased that she's awake and talking.
I would worry too, if it was my Mam, but while she's in hospital, it's a chance for you to have a break, and you can ring them up if you're worried. See how things are on Sunday and take it from there. Still praying. Lots of hugs. x x2025 Fashion on the ration

your all so lovely, its great to have friends on here who i can talk to, especially on days liketoday, your support has helped me through.
just back from visiting mum, evening visiting is just 6.30 til 8pm, not long enough really.
anyway she was laying the law down again, saying i should start packing, i called her bossy boots in a nice way, and she said stop worrying i'm as tough as old boots.
doctors are pleased with how the op went, they expected to take her to intensive care or high dependancy unit after op, but she's in a side room, on a normal ward. tonight she is on a drip, and morphine pump for pain, but doctors say she should be able to take drinks tommorrow
i'm gonna have an early night now, its been a tough and stressful 24 hours, and glad its behind us now
love to all

Shaz - it must have been a really stressful time, but it's great that your Mum is on a normal ward and doesn't need intensive care. I wish her a speedy recovery, and hope that you can enjoy your break knowing that the worst is behind you both. Now, get packing - I can be bossy, too!

B]HI Mrs Cd[/B] .. Lovely to see you posting
Well the fiesta is still in full swing.i think the music went off at about seven. Thatis how to party. I slept but not sure if Doh did so I will leave him in peace for a while!!!
We went to have lunch at our friends house here in Spain yesterday and rats(yuk, yuk, yuk) had got into her garage and eaten through all the pockets on the snooker table that was stored there for when thr grand children come. They had also eaten through the bag which stores the rat poison!!!!! So poor thing not only found the damage but dead rats as well.
Can you guess what my next project is? To crochet six new snooker pockets!!
I am going to try a prototype first!
Well lots of love to one and all and gentle thoughts for those with their hands overflowing xxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Haha it is going to be spot the typing errors til my cataract op!Try and do a good deed every day.0

Oh Shaz what great news, I was missing all day yesterday but kept you and your mum in my thoughts. You MUST go away for the break then you can return refreshed and ready to do lots to help your Mum.
I noticed Mrs CD - couple of days ago as well as Spikeyhedgehog - I am so glad you decided to OUT yourselves, welcome to you, please stay a wee while.
Chalky - I did spot the typos but we can read them no bother - some prof up at a uni decided years ago that if your brain gets the first and last letter it makes up the rest of the word......so you carry on.
Have a great day folks, I intend to spend it on the knitting machines

Chalky - the snooker table pockets sound like a challenge, especially as you don't want them to get saggy after a bit of use. I wonder if you could use string or something like that which would be pretty robust? I understood what you typed regardless of pre-cataract-op typos!
Mrs CD - I echo what Roamin says; please stay, you are more than welcome.
Well, we have someone looking at the house this morning (yes, it's STILL for sale!), and this afternoon I have to get the holiday home ready for guests who are coming tomorrow, so no peace for the wicked!

Finally got 5 mins to sit down...busy,busy lately... did Mom's washing, then got up into the loft for a few kitcheny bits, made numerous cuppa's, and got a bag ready for MrsTwins, we were going to meet up yesterday but have decided on next Friday now, I am really looking forward to seeing her
shaz - I agree with your Mom and all our friends on here the break will do you good, you will come back with renewed energy, and ready to look after your Mom xx

jean - how's the kitchen?... we are almost finished just a few finishing touches to do...my job I've been told
chalky -RATS :eek::eek: I hate the things, although I have never seen one up close only on TV thats enough for me. Snooker pockets would dishcloth cotton be strong enough it's quite thick,
mrs-moneypenny - what you describe with your MIL is almost copyplate to how things were with my MIL except my OH visiting everyday, we were too far away but he always said he wouldn't as it caused a lot of problems between her his Dad, but she knew if she needed us to ring and we would be there. I used to bite my tongue A LOT too but for all that I loved her and like you I did my best for her. She died in 2010 and I really miss her
Hello and welcome to :wave:Mrs CD and Spikeyhedgehog please pop in and say hello from time to time, we are a friendly lot and love it when new friends join us
A friend has given me a huge bag of yarn and most of it is 50% wool, some is mohair and there is a cone of cream DK acrylic and cotton mix, I have used a lot of that though on the last bag of squares I've done for MrsTwins. I aim to sort it properly this PM and bag it all up so I know what's what !!!
I am off to do OH some lunch now so TTFN
