Am hoping to go back next week and buy some more of it Roaming, it was in a CS and they had a basket full. I have a baby bootie pattern that does well in cotton so am going to knit some of those too.

We had a terrible storm here today but thankfully my family were all ok, Dd did get wet picking up DGS after work but she missed the thunder and lightening luckily. I was in bed with a migraine but the storm took that away when it left thank goodness, so my day didnt start till 3pm, hate losing a day like that.

hugs to all off to get something constructive done now xx

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: just killed some sock wool:(
dropped a stitch and could'nt pick it up, in frustration, (tiredness and painful carpal tunnel didnt help) pulled knitting off needles, and it all tangled in a right mess, feeling very upset, pulled another sock of its needles too, tho thankfully, that wool wound up into a ball, sounds silly now, but cried over the wasted wool, and the time i had wated by ripping it out.
feel silly now, plus i have to replace the ball i ruined, as it was colours chosen especially for a friend.
sorry for rant, and moan had to get it off my chest

    morning all

hugs for you SK and anyone else who needs them
i cheated a bit on my update and declared things that were finished so spent yesterday morning sewing buttons on and ends in ive also sewn the label on the memory blanket for my brother, i think that is the hardest thing i have ever knitted, when i did the first one it was full of hope and love, this one still had love and sweet memories but uit was a bitter sweet item to knit. hardest thing now is going to be finding the right time to give it my brother.
made a start on stuff for DS2 school charity stall items last night, ive embroidered 3 little pieces to put into key rings. ive done a "key to my heart" with a piture of a key and a heart replacing those words. and a "car key" and a "shed key" so far, they have lttle pictures of a car and a shed stitched on. ive got 10 key ring blanks so 7 more to do.

hungs to all who need/want one.
back to work offically today so better get a move on.

    Hello all
DGS had a sleepover last night, so nothing been done on the kitchen ...he is so lively and makes me laugh so much, he is in the garage 'helping' Grandad at the moment sorting screws out and putting them in a box, he is full of questions "whats this for, what do you do with that, can I have one of your hammers"?:eek::eek: I think NOT say I !!! unless its a rubber one ;)

O drat ...I have missed both of you kathy and chalky anyway have a lovely time, and enjoy the break whatever the sun decides to do
kathy - I hope "Cruella" has calmed down or will do when she is face to face with you all,
ginnyknit - I am sorry to hear OH is going through the darkness again, I hope it passes quickly for you both x Well done with your bargain wool.
jean - tried one of your scrunchies yesterday but used the only cotton I had it was DK, so it turned out a bit thick, I was impatient to give it a go, so thats my mission for next week track down some 4ply cotton :)
shaz - what a nuisance and how annoying I am sending a calming (((hug)))
mrs-moneypenny - what a lovely but very painful thing to do your brother and family will love it and I am sure they will appreciate how hard it was and the effort it has taken to make it x
seakay - sounds to me like it's the Psychiatrist who needs the treatment...why do people NEVER listen
f1widow - hope the lappy is behaving itself today
Hi MrsTwins - really enjoyed our visit and chat on Tuesday:)
started work on a bag of squares last night, I find it quite relaxing edging round each one, and I leave placing them until I have edged them all... seems easier that way.

Must go get some Lunch organised before we take DGS home, got to get his stuff back in his little trunkie it seems to be scattered all over the house... wonder how that happened then!!! :rotfl:

    (((hugs))) for all

afternoon all, and apologies for my meltdown last nite, things getting to me a bit just now.have decided to have a break from knitting for a day or two, felt like it was becoming a chore trying to get things done, instead of being an enjoyable hobby.

anakat, massive thankyou for the sock yarn leftovers, lovely wool in lovely colours,

the blanket i am making is by kelly lang, think her blog is called heathen housewife. the blankie is made up of tiny mitred squares made with sock yarn, it will be an on going project for quite a long time

    love to all

  • Shaz melt down is good - it makes you realise just in time that you need to change tack! If I get a chance later I will go see if I can find the blanket thingy linkie doo dah for a nose.
Had the first of my annual check ups today and I have to say the oncologist was lovely - put my mind to rest - I have been a bit "off the wall" for the past month or so - Snapping worse than a crocodile at everyone. Perhaps now I can just settle everything down again - well at least till next year! LOL
Pippa - bet you will both miss DGS - I know how stuff gets scattered all around the house when there are children visiting - I also know that WE let them do it too!
Mrs Moneypenny - give it anytime, the love behind it will be appreciated no matter when you choose.
Love and hugs to you all.

So many worries for all on here at the moment. Glad your check-up went well Roamin. x

pippa, we can never find things when DGS goes home, wether its cos we have moved them out of the way or he has borrowed them I never know. He called round for an hour today and was so sweet. He had been to wacky warehouse, to see his friend then to a Birthday party, when Grandad ran him and Mummy home he climbed on his Daddy knee and fell fast asleep with a smile on his face ( and cake in his hair, chocolate on his pants and no chance of a bath)

Mrs Mp think of the blanket as a labour of love

Shaz I had a look at the blog you mentioned, the blanket looks wonderful, can't wait to see yours.

Im excited, Mum has managed to get me another bag of wool from the CS, seems its not popular where she lives so the lady kindly saves it for me - I must make her something to give the lady to show my gratitude. I also got talking to a lady who works in Hobbycraft as I bought some of the budget range needles and safety pins for my Africa charity and she has a bag full of bits and bobs I can use for that so Im going to pick that up from her in a fortnight. I sent some sewing kits to africa with a friend last year and they were so delighted with them that they were going to have 'sewing days. where everyone shares the kits to mend their clothes. How simple is it to change lives, Im so amazed.

Well I had better clock off and get some sleep now. Hugs to all my dear friends here xx
