I am sitting here looking at a bottle of Brandy...ooo don't do it can't be in charge of trying to cook lunch with a glug of that down me,anyway its too early I would be asleep the whole afternoon :rotfl:
psso - did you manage to get the plants in without getting too wet?
chalky - ahhh he will love it,has he been before? our DGDs are 6 and 8 and swim like little fishes they love it, their Mummy took them for Mummy and baby lessons right from the start. It's a tricky situation when friends have problems isn't it? I believe we all have a relationship crisis in our lives and if we are meant to be together we will be.
kathy - hope all is well with you and your's x
I have been flitting from one thing to another lately, finished a lappy for MrsTwins then edged off and joined the squares for another should get that finished tonight, have also been working on some childrens hand warmers for DGD's Christmas Fayre at school, made them up as I went along, tried doing holey ones and they turned out ok,
right better go see if lunch is anywhere near done...this was supposed to be a quick post...sorry...
Love to all and enjoy your day whatever you are doing

4 prem body warmers
i finished the blanket for my brother memory box but i ran out of wool, it was supposed to be square but has about 2 inches missing off the last corner, as its a smaller copy (using 2 balls instead of the 4 i used for lilys, im hoping it will be alright if i make a 'feature ' of that missing corner by sewing a ' handmade with love' label across that edge. do you think that will look alright.

Hello all!
Still working on little cardi (only for18" chest but I really am a slow knitter!) and am on the second front.
Just been reading through the last few pages to catch up and wanted to send (((hugs))) to all with illnesses and relatives with illnesses and also with various family problems which need solving.
My brother (autistic and recently diagnosed with Parkinsonian symptoms, possibly Parkinsons) had an horrendous interview with the psychaitrist from the local social inclusion unit - thank goodness my sister (M.E.) was able to go with him and secretly record the whole thing. Basically it was obvious that she had no sense of caring or responsibility and was only concerned with getting rid of him and saving money. She didn't look at his notes, didn't make any notes, refused to talk to my sister who had written permission to be there and opened proceedings by asking my brother how his schitzophrenia was (one of the things he definitely doesn't have but happens to be the psychiatrist's speciality!)
Fortunately ISOM has made some suggestions about how social services might be involved. Basically, we sisters are his only family, neither of us lives close by, both of us are ill, and if we dropped dead tomorrow my brother has been deemed capable of making all decisions and looking after himself even though he is dyslexic, dyspraxic, has ADD, autism, and now Parkinson's which will increase his compulsive behaviours. The psychiatrist#s only suggestion was that he should get all his Drs to send him letters so that he knew exactly what is going on - when my sister pointed out that his dyslexia would mean that this wasn't very helpful and anyway how was he supposed to make everyone do this? she was first ignored and then told that "this line of discussion is unhelpful and cannot continue"
Anyway, sorry to vent on you all, but really been feeling very angry and helpless about all this.
Did love the bath scrunchie Roamin - I'm definitely going to give that a go and if I can make mine as good as yours there are definitely C*******s present idewas coming on for me! You are so clever, and thank you for sharing such an original idea.0 -
sending seakay lots of (((hugs))) xxxloves to knit and crochet for others0

Oh seakay..what a disastrous outcome that visit was for your Brother and sister. I have previously had to fight my Dear Wee Sisters corner and her worst nightmare is her own Doctors receptionist....I give no quarter on that score just plough right on!
Thank you all for the lovely things you have said about the softie scrunchie - here is a picture of number two...this was using the Knitting Machine cotton which isn't nearly as successful and the colour choices were limited but works fine for me. I shall drop down a couple of hook sizes if I am using it again, but it was that or Aran weight cotton which I just know would be far too thick..might see if I can find some DK cotton on my travels.
