Pippa great news about your hubby, it must be a relief for you both. Just make sure you keep having a gentle word in his ear and ensure he takes his time. My Oh is ok, minor surgery in October then cancer checks after that. He is very very tired all the time but forces himself to potter. he is off fishing tomorrow with his friend, but I found out offf his friend he fishes for an hour then disappears into his tenty thing and sleeps. I dont care, he is in the fresh air, well looked after and happy as a kid in a toy shop. Then he comes home and snoozes on and off for a couple of days :rotfl: I think he is turning into a cat.
Im just doing the last edging row of a Sibol blankie too - synchronised crochet! Can't wait to finish it and start the next one because the colours are scrummy, it will look lovely. Have great plans for tomorrow, after the blanket Im going to sew lots of things. Im making pencil rolls and little book bags for the African school I do for. then hopefully a few pillowcase dresses - literally made from pillowcases.

morning all
not sure whats got into me friday morning i opened the curtains and thought that elder tree is getting a bit big, decided to give it a bit of a prune then started on the other huge square shrub near the front wall, trimmed the square shrub and gave the elder a really good haircut- it took all day and filled 7 green bags! weve now looked how big the main branches are and how close to the garden wall so i spent most of last night and since 8am this morning armed with industrial tree loppers and they are both shadows of there former selves. DH has told me me will do the main heavy cutting at the weekend. youngest DS was amazed the wall matched the neighbours and had a square coping stone on it he said. "ive lived with that tree all my life!" trouble is the drive is now covered in shrubbery i think it will taek me about 3 months to get it all taken away as they only take garden stuff once each two weeks. oh well ive started so ill have to finish. i am rackng myself up some serious knitting/stitching time for the weekend because of how radically different it looks. i spent all of yesterday doing some form filling and searching the attic for some papers i needed, cant say what for yet but would apprechiate some finger crossing that it turns out ok please. ill let you know as soon as i cant what it is.
Anne its lovely to 'hear' you ramble so you go ahead any time you want. really pleased that you have good news about your DH, and nice to hear the kitchen is coming along so well.
Ginnyknit, gentle hugs to you and your DH, you sound really busy with all your plans.

Hi Folks............Mrs Moneypenny - flat hedgies are with the real ones on the update and I hope I have the right number of body warmers too.
Decided last week - having read about Pippa having a revamp in her kitchen - I can have one as well........great idea, DH all up for that. So we started out looking at units, worktops, etc. So far we have bought the sinks - yep all back to front that's us. I have chosen and ordered the worktops - meant to take 3 or 4 weeks. Bought a few of the electrical bits and pieces, picked out the taps -but there is a 6 week delay on the one I want, so no rush to choose the cabinets or the handles. This is France and we know for a fact that if it all gets completed prior to Christmas it will be some minor miracle, we live in hope. To add to stress levels today we went to Ikea (other shops are available) which is a two hour drive away, having never been in one before it was a bit of a mind numbing experience. This was meant to be a fun day looking at new bed for DS's room (which is really just a spare room)...............oh I never care if I don't get back to that shop ever again. Ended up with neither of us speaking to each other, so we came home for tea and cake instead. Will source bed and assorted bits of furniture at some other point in the year.
Knit your square totals can be found on the link under my name - think you hit the home page? but don't quote me on that one.
Love and cuddles to you all, off for a proper drink now and see if I can sit in the garden with some crochet and relax.

Well!! Last night DD2 was in floods of tears as she said goodbye to all her friends (once again!) especially the one who travelled Oz with her for 18 months. So it was finish packing late-- too heavy --- unpack a bit and then try to get some sleep!
The alarm went off at 3.00  and we were on our way by 3.30 this morning. Traffic was quiet!! It takes us 90 minutes to get to Bristol and then it was check in and she thinking as she put it " wing it" as she had 1 piece of hand luggage ( rammed ) and her laptop! As you can imagine big cuddles and then she was off through departures. Soon had a text to say she had,had to throw away Nail Varnish remover and 1 of the deoderants because they would not fit in 1 clear bag. She had 2!!! Then the next text was to say she was now wearing 3 pairs of trousers, trainers, and a coat because they did make her put her laptop in her full bag! So I bet she was popular in the queue!!!:)
Anyway we headed back home and as it got light I was able to do a bit of hooking. Back in bed by 7.30 and then up again at 9.30! What a weird day!
Anyway it is VERY quiet here and I am just having a cuppa and a break from giving her bedroom a complete overhaul!!
She has texted to say she is in Antibe so the next chapter in her travelling life begins!
It has been an all change day actually as DDIL has finished her maternity leave and William has started at the Childminder -- I have not stopped thinking about him and DDIL and DS all day! I hope he has been OK. We are an hour and a half away so no help on a practical daily way.
Well I promise I will catch up with everyone's news but just glancing back I am so pleased Pippa that kitchen is coming on well and even more pleased there is good news of DOH . Love to you both xx

Really enjoying my ipod though - esp the facetime but need to remember that people around the screen can see too; was chatting to best mate and telling her how awful my boobs were and showed her-not realising that oh sitting right there..poor bloke was v embarassed and I almost wet myself laughing!! Lesson learned!!
Right am off to choir! Hope youre all well..big hugs those that need themNerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

ISOM - :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Behave yourself girl !!! You`ll be locked up otherwise. Would you get to take your ipad to jail ?
Roamin - I don`t mind Ikea apart from the fact I always seem to come home with lots of bits and pieces I could REALLY live without. I`m afraid it`s toys r us that really does my head in. They have soooo much stuff but it doesn`t matter which toy/game I`m looking for..............they never have it. Much prefer to sit with argos bookie, decide what`s required, reserve online and pick up next day. Job done, no hassle.
Mrsmoneypenny - have crossed fingers but please hurry up with whatever it is as it`s very difficult to knit with them like this.
Will your tree survive all this pruning - or do you want rid of it anyway.
Well, I started a baby blanket but 140 stitches seems very big and boring..........so I`m back to doing more hedgies. This lot is going up to Shetland this time (not as many as went down to devonshire or barra) At this rate I`ll be hitting my century before long.
Pippa, I`m catching up with you on the rambling stakes but better go now as have to go and clear up after those messy gp`s.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
