a while ago, i had to attend a medical for employment and support allowance, well yesterday i got the letter saying i had been put in the support group, which means they have to pay me more money, which they have backdated to the 29th dec, so i went on a bit of a spending spree yesterday, and bought myself a digital tv, which is being delivered on sunday, cant wait, my old tv is around 15 years old, and sound and picture quality arnt great.
planning on finishing some projects this week, as the pile of unfinished items is threatening to take over lol

    Hi Everyone!
Just popping on to say I had a great morning on Friday, Pippa came to see me with her hubby. She doesn't live too far away from me and has been kindly helping me with 'take a bag'. She assembled 25 Squares for me and personally delivered a beautiful blanket she had put together for SIBOL. I showed her our SIBOL's and our 'Going For Gold'. I am not joking when I say 'tears came to her eyes!' She really was quite emotional on seeing them. So nice to meet one of my 'virtual friends' who aren't 'virtual' anymore!
I will be posting her blanket on SIBOL as soon as I have time to take photos.
    Thank you pippa!
    Love Suex

    Hi everyone

Mrs Twins - it's so lovely to be able to put a face to a name, isn't it? I've met Chalky twice now, and she is as lovely in the real world as she is in our little virtual one! Can't wait to see the photo of the blanket!

Chalky - I am SO sorry we made you give William extra kisses and cuddles; what a chore that must have been (NOT!)
I'm making my mum a bag with the lovely wool you gave me; I bought some beautiful fabric for lining it, in our fantastic local haberdashery - I took some of the wool in there, and the assistants were really interested in what I was doing, and want to see the finished result, so I'd better do my best stitching-in! There is plenty of wool left to be able to make something for Summer and something for Megan, too.
Shaz - hope things are looking up for you.

Mrs Moneypenny - hugs to little Lily.

Pippa - hope OH is doing well.

Well, this is my mum's last day in her house; she moves to her residential care home tomorrow. I've had a lovely chat with her and she is so happy about the move. She has a big room overlooking the garden, and she can even have a bit of the garden for herself, to put all her tubs in, which she is delighted about. She will have her own phone, which is something that we are all really thrilled about, and the home has a 'snug' complete with internet access for Skyping, which is another huge bonus. All in all, I think it will be a great move, and I can't wait to visit her there and, instead of her having to think about catering for us and so on, we can just take her out for the day and enjoy being with her.

Well, I hope you are all enjoying some good weather. It's lovely here again so, although I have some work to do, I shall be sitting outside in the garden now and again.

    Have a great day, everyone.

Its so good to call in here and see some good news, we have tough days and a bit of sunshine is welcome. It is good to meet virtual friends isn't it? Course you wouldnt want to meet me cos Im horrible, thats what my Dd just said when I took DGS home 20 minutes early and woke her up - she was joking ...I hope...:rotfl: Trouble is he suddenly decides its time to go and gets our coats and keys and drags us to the door, no mean feat at 2 years old :) Now I just have to put the house back together and find all the things ha has hidden and its time to potter.

Moliere, I do hope your Mum settles well, it all sounds positive and a nice place.

Chalky, you must have a big smile on your face after cuddles with the little man. I know I have , Michael woke me at 5.15 as he has an ear infection so we played in his bed till 6 and he just kept giving me lovely smiles and hugs - you cannot buy happiness like that.

    Morning
It was lovely and sunny a while ago but the clouds seem to be gathering
DS2/DIL and DGS coming later and DS1 paying a flying visit on his way to the NEC for some sort of meeting ???

MrsTwins - Hi Sue it was lovely to meet you on Friday, yes soppy me went all teary eyed :o couldn't help it, the blankets were all so gorgeous, and to see the "Going for Gold" Olympic blanket in the flesh so to speak I have never seen anything like it...words fail me... It's a pleasure to help out I really enjoy it,
the blue one is almost ready just a couple of finishing rounds to do, then I will start on the latest bag of squares I may take it down to the caravan with me x

chalky - awww they are so gorgeous when they are small aren't they, don't mind all the munchies then, DGS is 4 and 1/2 now and is getting to the stage when if I want a cuddle it's when he wants to and on his terms IYKWIM, unless I can just grab him :rotfl:
kathy - I am so pleased your Mum is happy and looking forward to a new phase in her life, it will be such a relief for all of you knowing she is where she wants to be and there are others around, it will give her a feeling of security and she won't worry. Yes it is better to take her our when you visit, I know from my Mom she looks forward to it we try and take her to a different restaurant each time and she says "Where are we going today then and can I do a bit of shopping as well"?
ginnyknit - I know just what you mean, they do like to 'tidy up' don't they :rotfl: such fun having them though, I just love it. How is your OH?
f1widow - no I don't mind at all :) It takes lots of patience and some people just can't cope with these things but the 'ill' person must come first it's just the way it is, and has to be, so it's just sleeves up get on with it...sounds hard but stiff upper lip and all that is the only way to cope, this thread has been a life-line for me so supportive and caring and I can't tell you how much it has meant to me :A
jean - hows things with you? hope the internet is behaving now and Edna has left the [STRIKE]premisis premises's [/STRIKE]building

Well I must away and get some lunch sorted chicken roast today if I ever get it in the oven

    Morning all!

Just dropping in for a quick catch up and to say that the latest email from Innocent Smoothies said that the annual hat collection is starting up again soon
    http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/bigknit

For those that don't know, they ask people to knit hats to put on Innocent Smoothie bottles which go into the shops in about November; each one sold with a hat 25p goes to Age concern.
Hats can be a simple beanie or bobble hat or something quite fantastical like an animal or person.
As long as it will fit over a bottle top then it's wanted!

I have managed a couple of inches of sock but have been mostly sleeping this week and trying to ignore all the gardening and washing that needs doing - hopefully next week I will have more energy and be more productive!

Love and hugs to all - hope that tomorrow goes well mioliere
