Hello one and all and lots of love tucked in.
Well after watching the terrible weather back in the UK I wish you had all arrived on that magic carpet and joined me with an iced glass of Tito Verano and stopped me turning the air blue, blue, blue when my sewing machine would not play game this morning.
I suddenly wanted to do a bit of quilting. You know the loveliest quilting you see on people's beautiful blogs! Well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has got to be the machines fault--- Tension wrong - Swallowing the beginning of the seams!! Needle constantly unthreading :mad:and just about anything else you would like to add -- Luscious quilting -- not even good enough for car cleaning cloths!:rotfl:

So a trip to the beach and a long cool swim was called for and did the trick! Oh! and a cool glas of Tinto Verano too!:j
Hope your projects have worked out better than mine today x
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • CHALKY - Check the bobin case is clear of fluff or bits of cotton...... - DWS had exactly same problem - oh and she had it threaded up wrongly. So give it a new needle and start again eh.
Sorry I have been missing yet again, I am still playing catch up and failing at every turn. I will succeed tho' - it might just take me longer than I hoped.
Love and cuddles to you all, I know some are really struggling. Will try and pop back a bit more often.
F1 - the cards are a 'PLAY' project - but I am desperate to get to them properly - other STUFF just keeps getting in my way, soon as I crack them believe me you will all know!

chalky, hope you have better luck with the sewing machine next time.
I've been to see my friend jackie, in intensive care, while i was there she opened her eyes and squeezed my hand, tears just came flooding down my face, i'm sure all the positive thoughts and prayers have done their trick, thanks everyone, the doctors and nurses are saying that hopefully they will be able to take her off the ventilator tommorrow, such a relief that she is on the mend,
    hugs to all

    Good Morning everyone!

I thought I had better pop in and tell you that if you pop over to SIBOL you can read all about my Blanket Delveries. I went to the Nursing Homes yesterday and delivered Blankets. They were just so well received and I would like to thank everyone for their kindness in helping me.

Some of the MSE Blankets have gone to Homes and some are going to Dorset County Council today when the courier arrives. These Blankets in particular are still needed by Elderly folk out in the Community which is lovely because we are reaching others. I have promised some more to them later on in the year when the weather starts getting worse.

Your Blankets were absolutely gorgeous and will give others such a lot of comfort.

I shall keep you posted about the Olympic Blanket as you know we have been experiencing problems with the Silly Olympic Committee!!
Thanks to everyone for everything, your help is very much appreciated and I shall continue to help the Elderly our Blankets are certainly bringing lots of smiles to their faces.

Pop over to SIBOL! Enjoy the read.

I would also like to say that.......

Due to the high intake of 6" Squares coming in to my home unfortunately I have had to put a 'SQUARE STOP' on future Squares until January 2013.

The reason is because the Olympic Blankets have taken up such a lot of my time and the Squares have been neglected. So my plan now is get each and every Square made up into Blankets. I have to be realistic as to what I can do with 'SIBOL' and it has got to a stage now where I must be honest with you all.

However..... There are lots of ways you can still help. SIBOL is not closing for business. We are still working hard away and I am STILL ACCEPTING CHALLENGE SQUARES and also 'MADE UP BLANKETS'. So there is plenty to be doing.

    Thanks everyone!

    Hi everyone

Shaz - what wonderful news about your friend; you must be so relieved. I doubt you'll get out of Hobbycraft without buying at least one thing!

Mrs Moneypenny - hope Lily is doing as well as can be expected.

Chalky - hope the sewing machine is now behaving itself!

Mrs TWins - I will go and take a look at SIBOL in a minute.

Jean - make sure you take time out to breathe now and again.

F1 - you sound VERY young to me!

Pippa - it's great that both you and your OH are doing so well.

Well, this is the first day for a while that I've not had any work that needs to be done in a hurry, so I've done a bit of housework and a lot of just flopping about reading (Tess of the D'Urbervilles). The weather has been really strange, a mixture of cloud and sun, but at least it's not raining so DH can get on with the roof he's working on.

Well, I'm waiting to hear from my sister about the care package that should have been up and running for my mum by now, but nothing's happening, so she's had to do a lot of chasing up. It seems there are so many agencies involved, and none of them talk to each other, so things have just drifted. The sooner we've sold this house and moved back, the better, but the buyers are few and far between at the moment.

    Will pop back in later.

kathy, hope the care package is in place very soon for your mum
    mrs twins, lovely blankets
chalky, is the machine behaving today?

been to hobbycraft and was well behaved, and only brought home three balls of sock wool, and a knitting pattern book.
a while ago someone mentioned asking on freecycle to see if any one had any spare wool that they didnt want, well i am pleased to say i have had three offers, and i am going to pick them all up tommorrow, so once i've picked them up and looked at what has been donated i'll post and let you all know
    hugs all
