Knit Your Square to Give Your Share - PART 4

Hello all - not been online with you all for a while so will ned to take a while to catch up but wanted to say "hi".
Not been ignoring you, just a bit of an amalgamation of things - downturn with illness plus new symptoms, cat died suddenley (she was 22+ and had all her own teeth) and various crisies to send notes and letters to family members about (I know, but sometimes even this feels like a mamouth effort!).
Anyway I have found time to do some woolley things including recycling some lovely sea green yarn from a long abandoned project from a friend of mine - had to be unravelled, carefully washed, hung to dry and stretch a little to remove most kinks, and then rewound into balls. Very satisfying!
And it's our delayed (due to Bank Holidays) knitting club meeting tonight, so really looking forward to that!

Hi everyone
Chalky - love the photo of William! Love the recipe, too, so thanks for that.
Mint1955 - a very warm welcome to you; I see you have been pointed in the right direction on here.
Ginnyknit - thinking about your OH.
Mrs Moneypenny - the picture is gorgeous! How is Lily?
Seakay - so sorry that life has been challenging for you, and I'm sorry about your cat. She must have had a lovely life with you to have lived for so many years. I hope you're feeling a bit better today.
F1 - it's great to know that you are so happy in your new home. I enjoyed the first episode of the 1950s house. I was a fifties baby and I can remember many of those things - they did last, didn't they?
Shaz - hope Daniel's move goes well. Lots of positive vibes on their way to your poor friend. I do hope she gets through this.
Jean - I hope you're taking a break now and again, and not working flat out like you do!
Pippa- - what a shame that the weather made you have to cut short your holiday. Better luck next time, hopefully! Hope OH is doing well. BIL is doing well at the moment, but there's been a hold-up on the care package for my mum, so my two sisters are trying to get things moving again. The long bank holiday hasn't helped, of course, because they couldn't get hold of anyone who is dealing with mum's case. On the upside, mum now goes to various clubs to do gardening, singing, and so on, and she's really enjoying it, which is great because she was a bit resistant to it at first. She's definitely better when she has lots of different things to occupy her, and I think she'll do well when she finally goes into residential care because she won't be on her own. At the moment, one of my sisters is staying with her - until the care package finally gets going - and mum seems much more 'with it', because she has someone there all the time. It's also giving my other sister the rest she so badly needs.
Well, we've had some torrential rain here for a couple of days, and heavy winds that have put a stop to DH's work because he's working on a roof three stories up, then we had thunderstorms yesterday so I had to keep unplugging everything. With all that, I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as some parts of the UK have had it, so I'm not complaining. I just hope we all get some proper summer soon; it's the longest day in less than two weeks!
Well, I've got some work to do so I'd better get on with it.
I hope you all have a great day.

Hello all
Weather has been beautiful here in Brum today,
Good news... for me this time...I had an appointment at the Doctors this morning with the nurse for my lung assessment, I have COPD and have to go every year, it's only mild I am glad to say, anyway she weighed me,took temp then BP, and then all the usual breathing and puffing into tubes etc...outcome was she said I am doing really well lung capacity isn't perfect but it has gone up, weight down half a stone since last year, BP and temp spot on :j I came out grinning like a cheshire cat.
OH is doing really well at the moment he has 2 appointment's next week one at Selly Oak on Monday for his other hearing aid, and the other at the dental hospital to check how his teeth are because of the radiotherapy, so it will be all go next week...
BUT tonight we have DGS coming for a sleepover :T his mummy and daddy are bringing him 5:30-6 o'clock...everything is ready toybox is waiting in the bay and books ready for bedtime story by his bed, new plants ready for planting tomorrow and grandad wants him to help mowing the lawn...hope weather behaves itself...
I have almost finished the ripple blanket for Auntie's 90th birthday in July and have started on a project for MrsTwins and SIBOL, really enjoying it as well
Must go make OH a cuppa sorry not mentioned by name but Love to all will post again in a couple of days
Anne
