Am I right in thinking you can just display your work over there a bit like on Flikr??? (I use Flikr now as Loving Hands ladies use it a lot and Lou uses it to display the donations - I sometimes add some cards ive made on there too - which reminds me I have a couple to upload ...)

    hi,
Yeah thanks for the comment :). Ravelry is so cool. Can search for patterns (free and paid), list your patterns in a library, and put photos up for each project too. I looked for a group from us here but there doesn't seem to be one, though there is an MSE Ravelry group where folk from the Knitters thread post stuff- wonder if a charity knit section/thread could be added there ? Or is the yahoo groups one still active ?
I am still knitting away on my scarf (for me), but have all sorts of ideas to use up some acrylic for preemie knits, and maybe even doggy knits :D.

Thank you Ladies for kind comments on my Olympic Blanket, but I am feeling quite gutted today. Just found out yesterday that we may not be able to auction our 'Going For Gold' Blanket. It carries Logos of the Olympics. Did you see the article in the Daily mail about the 81 year old lady who had a doll and made clothes carrying the Olympic Rings on the front. She was advised by Trading Standards not to try and sell for Charity as it was copyright. We have a lot of squares in the Olympic Blanket which now apparently could be a little doubtful! All our hard work! I am gutted.
I have mailed the 'brand protection' people at the Olympics and I am also going to write to Number 10 if I am not successful.
We on SIBOL, and you all here work so terribly hard helping charities and I think it is disgusting that we have to worry like this. I can't even have the Word Olympics written across the blanket!
You can imagine how I am feeling today! So are all the other Ladies on RAV.
If you want to read what's been written please follow the link to RAVELRY.

I have been so terribly busy over the last few months sorting these blankets out and I have not had time to mail you Kathy. I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. She is suffering with Alzheimer's and that's what we are trying to raise money for!
I am doing my best once again to sort this out.
So fingers crossed they grant us permission to use the Blanket.
I apologise for not coming over more often.
Our other three blankets are on EBAY.
Thanks everyone and I know you will be as upset as I am!

    Thanks Ladies.
A friend on RAVELRY is asking her bosses at her work 'Solicitors' to have a look at this for us on Monday. But I don't think we have any chance of being able to sell on EBAY.

I found this blog this morning. Finger Puppets.
    http://halifaxcharityknitters.wordpress.com/2012/03/01/finger-puppets-for-iwk/

You might already know about it.
Have a good weekend everyone, thanks for your thoughts.
    Quiet on here......
    Love Suex

Oh Kathy, I don't know whether you include our totals still.
We have now made 167 Sunshine Blankets. Thank you. x

Yes,very quiet on here but I think that is because everyone is enjoying beautiful sunshine x
I have decided to get close and personal with Mayflowers Angel Claire Bodywarmer. I have made 2 so far.1 in each pattern. I find the one starting at the neck the easiest but maybe not the prettiest?

Our Spanish plumber here, Innez, had his first grand daughter at the same time our William was born. William weighed in, if you remember at a whopping 9lbs 12 ozs to the tiniest mummy and Luna weighed 850 grams!!!!! Can you imagine. She has done really well whilst we have been house renovating and now weighs in at a healthy 5+ lbs ( What an amazing feat) Never mind that William weighs 20+ LBS-- What a chuffer!

So I am knitting the littlest bodywarmers for the hospital where Luna was born. Just what I needed methinks.

    Love to all

    Hi everyone

Thank you for your continued thoughts and good wishes for my mum.

Mrs Twins – I did read about that doll and her Olympics outfit; I think it’s truly disgusting that the lady couldn’t sell the doll, and just as disgusting that it seems you can’t auction off the lovely blanket, not even for charity, especially as there seems to be no problem putting the Olympic torches on ebay. I thought the games were all about being ‘sporting’(which, in one of the definitions in my dictionary, means being fair and just), and bringing people together. I really hope you can find a way round it; perhaps you can write to your local MP?

Pippa – I’m so glad that your OH is doing so well. It must be such a relief for you both.
My BIL is doing well in his fight with the cancer, but he now has cellulitis (which is what poor Lou had after her awful accident) in his face. He’s on strong antibiotics with instructions to go straight to A&E if it starts to affect his eye, so we now have something else horrid to think about.

My mum is having two weeks of care in her own home, where she will be assessed to see what to do next, but it looks like it will have to be a residential care home. My sister is inspecting all the local ones with a fierce determination to get the very best one. She says the people in charge of mum’s case are wonderful, but there are so many agencies to deal with, and they don’t always communicate with each other. Mum, happily, is doing as well as she can, and getting lots of visits from grandchildren and so on, which is what she loves, and she’s loving the weather.

Orkney Star – I echo F1’s words about your beautiful work.

DPixie – I hope you got some sun eventually? It’s been gorgeous here, blue skies and wall-to-wall sunshine. Unfortunately, I’ve been indoors most of the time working, but I try and sit out for a little while each day. Soon it’ll be too hot to do even that.

Chalky – I will go and check out your blog in a minute; glad you had a nice time!

As I think you all know, my work is freelance writing, and I’ve picked up quite a lot of regular jobs over the last few weeks. It’s all going really well, and the wool-and-grandchildren-fund is building up nicely, but I’ve now been asked to do ‘infographics’ and guest-posting, so I’m having to learn as I go along, and it’s all a bit mind-blowing for my poor old brain! Still, every day’s a school day, as they say, and hopefully I’ll know what I’m doing soon!

Anyway, I hope the good weather continues in the UK and here, so that we can all enjoy some much-needed sunshine.

    KathyXX

Oh, I will definitely be doing the update tomorrow. I know I keep saying that, but I really will, and I’m sorry I’ve been so lax with it lately.
