    Hi everyone

I think we are all busy doing various things lately. DH and I are still knocking down barn walls, which is going well, but the worst bit is the clearing up at the end of the day. By the time I've cooked the dinner and cleared that up, I've been so tired I've been dozing off as soon as I sit down, so the woolly stuff hasn't seen the light of day for ages.

I've also been having problems with a slow PC, which is a pain because I'm doing a lot of online work at the moment; I think I need a new one because I've had this one for years, but that will have to wait until we are back in the UK; I'm not paying the prices they charge over here!

We've had some lovely weather for the last couple of weeks. It's turned a bit colder now, but we still have the sun. Our swallows came back yesterday, a week later than last year; so far, there are two pairs. I can't believe how much I've missed them. We heard the first cuckoo last week, too, so summer can't be that far away!

Anyway, I hope you are all keeping well. I shall call back later on today.

    KathyXX

Anakat - love your policeman; he's really cute!

    morning all
anakat i love your little policeman
kathy you sound really busy im glad its all coming along well but please take care and dont try and do too much
i hope all are well, hugs to all that need them

friday was a sad day obviously but it was a lovely service and it was nice to see family i havent seen for way too long.
we all took comfort from the fact that gran is buried in a beautiful little churchyard very close to my Aunts grave (she died way too young 13 years ago so gran has spent a lot of time visiting and always said that was where she wanted to end her days.
gran had 7 children and i cant remember the exact figures but the amount of grand and great grandchildren she had was quite impressive.
also had a chance to speak to my brother i told him that all of my 'good cause knitting friends' were always keen to hear updates on lily and lolas progress and often sent their good wishes and prayers when they were nedeed he asked me to thank you all and said something is certainly helping as lily seems to get one challenge after another thrown her way but she always manages to find the fight from somewhere to overcome it. he also told me how grateful the hospital staff and other parents are for the things we send in. he said it s not something you even think about utill you are plunged into that possition so he asked me to thank you all for your support to the hospitals as well.
lily had another setback at the beginning of last week when she managed to losen the tubes by poking at the tapes with her tonuge and managed to force the oxygen tube lose which caused her lungs to collapse, it was a scary hour while someone manually pumped oxygen for her while the tubes and machines were reinserted and attached.

got to take youngest Ds to the dentist for a check up this morning could have been worse he could have got the appt for yesterday and gone on his birthday. cant believe hes 12 now. where do the years go?

    have a good day all

morning all, got back from a weekend in blackpool yesterday, but was too tired to post.
it was a knitting holiday at the westcliffe hotel, paula who owns the hotel was so friendly and very helpful, there was a full day tutorial called knit to fit which was run by susan crawford, so now i can alter patterns to my own exact measurements and hopefully everything will fit perfectly. the holiday was full board, and the food was delicious. and there was a trip out to a lovely yarn shop, of course it would have been rude not to rescue any lol. enjoyed it so much i have booked another two holidays for this year.
off to go and catch up on all of your news now, looks like i have missed a few pages
    love and hugs

ps, the holiday was booked as a last minute thing as i needed to get away me and A were having disagreements and i needed the space to think. while away i decided that it wouldnt work, so back to being single, on the positive, more time for knitting
mrs mp, the years fly dont they, my wee babes that were born prem in april 1995 will be 17 this month, and are big strapping lads. special prayers to lily
    anakat, lovely policeman, well done
kathy, dont forget to breathe lol, you sound so busy
f1, well done on the clearing and sorting, the flattening thing can be ignored, i havent done any since last august when i broke my wrist, and realised body heat makes the creases drop out
isom, how are you doin, are you onto grown up food yet?

glad you enjoyed your knitting weekend away SK but sorry to hear that the romance isnt working so well, perhaps just time to take things a little slower and see what develops. anyway it doesnt mean you cant be friends does it?

sorry to hear that the romance has gone awry socky...as mrs m said hope you can still be friends. Good that you had a nice wend away!
Good the the funeral was a time to catch up but sad that so often we just dont have time to see people in between isnt it...
sorry been awol...have been feeling a bit bleugh...dont know why - prob just the adjustment at not being able to stuff my face plus lack of routine not good for me. Am planning a tidy tomorrow as mum is away and want to get things relatively ordered for her return in the vain hope that she may manage to "get" a system! Doubtful but I live in hope!!
Yes socky am on proper food-had my first proper meal yesterday of chilli con carne...lots of protein! I eat tentatively with new things as dont know what I will/wont react to...so far sugar has had a reaction which was nasty to say the least!
I also realise that my totals are non existant so far this year but will remain as such for a while as am enjoying making things for me for a change...am still coordinating things and have a box to send off for lou and a few cat blankets which is something!
Hope all are well. Anakat love the copper!

hi everyone, bet you thought that i had disappeared again - no such chance. we have been having lovely weather (with bad weather predicted for this week) so we got busy on the garden (seeding where it needed some - just about everywhere, and then watering every night) and also the veg garden. i have been digging holes for the tomatoes to go into next month (the holes get filled with manure, in advance, so it has some time to bed down before the tomatoes are put in), we have also been weeding the broad beans and the potatoes - however, i think the weeds are winning - its incredible how fast they grow, even without water.

on the crochet front, i am still making the little jumpers for the south african orphans and am meeting my one per week target, and am happy to say that i am slightly ahead of target because, once it gets really hot - it gets to 45 degrees in the hight of summer - i just cannot bear to touch the wool it feels all clingy.

hope everyone is managing to stay happy and keep a smile on their faces - there is someone out here who cares! and dont forget it. have a great day all

hope you have a safe journey and a lovely time in Devon Anne, what a shame the weather has taken a turn forthe worse.

being lazy today so far i have finished the front of Lolas jumper, finished reading mums list and done about 4 hours of cross stitch. i did wizz round so the house looks reasonable but couldnt be bothered to clean all day.
    its horibble out here

    morning all,
anne hope you have a lovely time in devon
weather here is strange, was snowing yesterday with strong winds, and today we have blue skies and the sun is shining.
knitting wise, i finished an adult hat for the homeless yesterday, today i plan on finishing socks for daniel, and trying to concentrate on wips rather than starting anything new
    love and hugs
