Pippa.S - it was a steel hook, went through security without a second glance.
InSearchOfMe - thanks so much for the link; I've ordered one of the tiny little cutters - what a clever idea.

Popped in to say hello................but there`s no-one here.
Where are you all? Have you all gone off somewhere on the Magic carpet and left me behind ? Boohoo.
Moragtodd - I always have a pair of nailclippers handy, they snip my wool nicely when the scissors go awol, as they frequently do in this house.
Suppose I`ll just have to go and do some housey stuff (SIGH) and that will give me more fee time for knitting tomorrow.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Hi everyone
I’ve been MIA again due to a HUUUUUGE order for some online work (editing a website that has lots of pages) that has taken the best part of two days. It left me with very wobbly eyes but has earned me some more pennies for the Grandchildren/Wool fund, and will, hopefully, lead to some more work because the lady who owns the website has said she will recommend me. I’ve managed to keep doing the odd woolly square, and I really must sew some ends in and get them in the post – some to Chalky, and some to Mrs Twins.
Welcome to Moragtodd and Moss2007 – I do hope you both enjoy it here!
May – thinking of you.
DPixie – how wonderful to have you back! We’ve really missed you. So sorry to hear about your aunt, although it seems like a happy release for her. As far as the medical side of things goes here, the doctors will quite happily give you prescriptions for carrier bagfuls of stuff and you could end up a complete hypochondriac (like most of the French!). It’s rumoured here that if a doctor doesn’t hand out a prescription at every visit, he’s considered to be a bad doctor! I even changed doctors because my last one was ‘prescription happy’, and I’m sure from the way he questioned me that he was trying to get me to invent symptoms just so he could write out a prescription! It started to get on my nerves! Good luck with the self-sufficiency!
Anakat – the dolls are great, and so is their hair!
ISOM – hope things are going well for you.
Jean – take it easy; you’re always on the go!
F1 – your Reborn is lovely. I’ve never seen one for real, but they do look very realistic. Good luck with the debt reduction.
Elaine – that’s a great idea about the nail clippers. I seem to have loads (I think some of them came out of Christmas crackers!), so I shall definitely keep one for wool-cutting. Thanks for sharing such a good idea!
Chalky – you must surely be seeing some light at the end of the tunnel if you’re painting now!
DH has been demolishing a stone barn (that was falling down, anyway), so I had to help with that until my work order came in; the friends who want the stones have been collecting them in return for helping with the demolishing, so I didn’t leave him to do it all on his own. Someone locally got wind of what we were doing (it doesn’t take long for he grapevine to get going here!), and bought some of the roof tiles, so that was useful – it earned a few more pennies, saved us the bother of doing something with them, and the chap who bought them loved the bargain he got. I love all this recycling!
I haven’t done the update yet, but I will do it over the weekend. It really has been a hectic week here.
Well, I see the forecast for the UK is good, as it is here, hopefully, so I hope you all get some sunshine; oh, and the clocks go forward, too, so don’t forget that!

Hi all - lovely day today - have sat in the garden for about 10 minutes (not long I know!) our garden does not face the right way and feels cold to me but it is lovely to see the sun.
Have knitted a couple of baby hats - my elderly friend gave me some ideas on the phone so have designed one and made two up so far - am wondering if they are a little too small though - although preemies heads can be so wee
have just had some shut eye - am always so tired - I really ought just get on and so something really - have a pile of that cloth stuff to flatten :rotfl:and am always wanting to sort out some cupboard or other - you must all think I live in a terrible mess
Sounds like everyone has been busy - hope you all have a lovely sunny weekend - big hugs and will pop back and do an update
oh nearly forgot had an email from Lion with dishcloth patterns if anyone is interested - I always mean to do some and put the designs into a blanket

Hi all been MIA again...
Had a very busy week so much going on...
Hospital with Mom on Tuesday we seemed to be there for ages this time then we took her out to Lunch...all this is doing my diet no good at all...took her home about 4 ...then flaked out on the sofa when we got back.
Have been trying to get some order back into the garden since the ravages winter.
We picked DGS up from pre-school and brought him here for Lunch he had a great time sloshing water about in the garden and digging, ended up thoroughly soaked and muddy...he had a bath then had his Dinner and DS2 came for him about 6, he wanted to stay for a sleep over but he had school on Friday so Mommy said no...thats the first time he has asked to stay all night :T so he is staying next Saturday night, his Mommy and Daddy are coming for him on Sunday and we will all have Lunch together.
