Sounds like youve been busy F1! Do you make the reborns or did you buy him? Dont think you've mentioned them before? I saw an interesting documentary on them a while ago. Regardless am sure it will be hard to part with him but unsure how bad the money situation is. If you want to chat it though feel free to let me know! My debts are coming down and one loan due to finish (8 years later!) in November...Northern rock made a tidy £8000 in interest!! Lesson learned-albeit the hard way!!

isom - bottom of my sig is my Debt Diary name over on debt forum (although I have not written anything for a week or so) - had a second light bulb moment a few months ago when I realised that our debts were not going to go away - I was not to be an ostrich anymore - circumstance and a total inability to cope with it all has left us severly in debt and am determined to change our ways!- plus no longer am I "I want it Im going to have it" - its now "I want it dont need it" (thats right isnt it roamin - my twinnie name over on Loving Hands) - the girlies have all been wonderfully supportive - I have spies on me - mentioning no names chalky, roamin and psso! which is very good as I know I cant be led astray:rotfl:

As for the dolls I brought him as a kit you get head, arms, legs and body - brought the paints etc to paint him (although pics dont really show the detail) have used mohair in his head (using felting needle!) and then he is filled with all different types of weighting products - glass beads, fibre fill and my all time favourite body fat! - which is lovely squidgy balls for his bottom! - i wanted to do one with the view that maybe I could do them and sell them - WRONG! so now i have that idea out of my head - he is finished - and all the goodies brought to make him will probably go on ebay - its an expensive hobby and Im changing my ways!

hello everyone - i have been either gone or lurking for a long while, although i have not stopped crocheting - having had a look at some of my squares - i have had to put a stop to the knitting - its shaming how poor my tension is!

things have been ticking along for us in france, and true to form, the french "need" for loads of medication has outed! i have been put on cholesterol pills, have been prodded and poked (and been for my first mamogram at the age of 40!!!! - oowwwwwwww) and i have now decided that i am going to have to put my foot down and get back to "normal" - no additional pills for me! Last year was very busy with my aunt and her stoke/move to a nursing home/losing her sight and her depression - sadly, but also happily, she passed away last month. added to all of that, we decided that we were going to be almost-selfsufficient. the amount of work that required was way way way more than i expected, although, to be honest, the hours saved in making the trip to the local grocery store (18kms away) has been worth it. i now only shop about 2 times a month for milk, fish and salad (cant grow it here in the winter, the snow seems to freeze it somehow!) Other than that we have had to deal with our small village shrinking further with 2 english couples trying to sell (to no avail at the moment) and 2 of our older residents being moved to nursing homes for their own safety - its all so sad.

anyway, i have been crocheting up a storm and have been on target with my little jumpers - i aim to make one a week - and have been keeping an eye on what is happening with knit-a-square in south africa.

hope that everyone is well, i have not had a chance to read all of the 312 pages, but will try to make my way through some of them asap.

    hugs to all

roaming - what a great idea - never thought of that -my OH will be happy, he hates "bought" lettuce and loves the local types that are a bit bitter and very crunchy.

thanks for the welcome home - i am glad to be back, i missed you all and certainly missed catching up on all the happenings.

will certainly not leave "home" again!

just back from dentist so thought id pop in and say hello.
didnt get my crown in the end ive got a short tooth so dentist wasnt happy to crown it as he said it could mean having to pare some off the tooth below to make room for the crown which could fall off anyway so he decided it was safer to take as much filling as poss out and refill and see how long this lasts. was very brave and opted for no injection (i is tough) it didnt hurt at all so filling done tooth feels fine and i havent got a numb mouth and best of all because he refilled one that had fallen out last time i didnt have to pay anything for todays visit (i was expecting to pay £204 for the crown so thought i had £157 left to pay) managed to finish another bodywarmer while waiting

ISOM my friends DH has a bag called teddy because it 'growls' occasionally

i agree with expensive hobbies being frustrating, i joined a pot doll making group years ago i made a baby doll and bought a bust with the intention of firing painting and adding wig for a friends 40th birthday she was 50 last year:o, anyway i paid for the bust and the week after i finished the baby doll and was dur to start sanding the bust down ready to fire teacher decided she dint want to run course anymore so just gave me the unfired bust which was totally useless:mad:. i have since managed to get it fired by someone who worked in a college that had a kiln but i was really annoyed that she took all the money off me knowing i wouldnt be able to complete it. its sitting in a box in our room just incase a local course ever starts again so i can paint it.
knitting and crossstitch ae my slightly less expensive passions now;)

off to ice DD2s birthday cake (shes 23 today)

hope all are well hugs to all

mrs m - ouch you are a big brave girl! - that was too  for words about your dolly - makes you wonder doesnt it - my mum did something similar at the local college on "day release" as I used to call it :D but also made dolls from pre-bought heads and limbs that were ceramic, made the body and added wigs - made the clothes etc - she does not have the room for them now and they went a while back - she gave me two of them and my wonderful hubby when we moved dropped them!

DS has popped his head in door and gone and I keep coming to the computer with the aim of sticking the Archers on iplayer to listen to whilst I make a start on my craft drawers - needless to say I sit here write a message - get up make a cuppa and never get to "doing" a thing!

ooppps meant to say HELLO DPIXIE - its lovely to see you - good to hear from you and hearing what you have been up to - sorry to hear about your relative - good luck with the growing! xx
