I have just popped in to make you smile and will read back and catch up later

Here is a good reason not to make up your own patterns

    001-13-1.jpg

But I hate giving up on anything so after my trusty hook came to the rescues and 6 rows of single crochet this was the end result -- Slouchy or what?

Has it actually got light at any time during the day ?? - blurggghhhh horrible weather - it was sunny"ish" yesterday - where did it go - I had a hawk on the fence today - it stayed for a while so i crept around got the camera out and no sooner did I focus than off it went - obviously did not want any publicity

I have been busy all day -- struggling with crazy hats !!!!! Mainly because DD2 left her VERY favourite one behind in the airport in OZ.I eVntually got one that I was happy with -- but it is so heavy you might need a reinforcement in the neck region!!!

Lots of news about Kemps-- I have never bought anything from them yet!
Thanks to all for all those good links with cowls. Think I may try one of those next. F1 -- you are always there for us all with good ideas-- Thank you
Shaz-- I hope you think it is positive news that you have been discharged! I am sorry that amongst this you will have very mixed emotions about the boys!!One day at a time xx

Lots of love to all you special friends who are just too busy right now to post xx

    Hi everyone

Sorry, I’ve not been on here for a few days. We had a busy weekend and yesterday was no different, either!

Jean – I have to nag DH to carry his driving licence and passport around with him here! I think it’s a bit of a nuisance for men, though, especially as he’s not the type to carry one of those manbags around with him! I also told him off yesterday when I realised he didn’t have his high-vis jacket handy. I’ve told him before that, in an emergency, you have to make sure you can put it on before you get out of the vehicle. Why don’t men listen?

Shaz – thinking of you and hoping that things become more positive for you soon. You’ve done all you can for Josh, and I really hope that you can try and put yourself first.. He knows how to find you once he’s come to his senses.

Chalky – love the hat, especially the version that lets you see where you are going! I’m trying to get one done for DIL2 for Christmas but I’m also still trying to get my neckwarmer done, as well as a homeless strip. I’m just using up oddments of wool now because I haven’t stocked up since my last trip back home fourteen (how long?!) months ago, so my stash, although it still fills four big stacking boxes, looks worryingly low! Still, only a few short weeks until I can visit my favourite wool shop, and have a squish and a squeeze of all the wool, and a lovely chat with the ladies in there while I’m choosing what I want! I’ve been saving up the pennies in anticipation!

Anyway, I think I mentioned that our farming friends were going to be giving us half a pig as a ‘thank you’? Well, it’s going to be a whole pig, and they are insisting that they won’t take no for an answer! We realised that our main freezer would not be big enough so we have bought another one which should be arriving this afternoon, fingers crossed (although this is France, so I shan’t hold my breath!). I spent yesterday re-organising the utility room to make room for it. Looks like we shall be eating a lot of organic pork for the next few months. I wish I could take some home with me to give to the rest of the family.

Our boys have booked a Boxing Day meal at one of our favourite restaurants at home, so we are really looking forward to that. We ate there all together the last time we were home, and the food is delicious.

DS2 Skyped yesterday, and Megan is now crawling, and starting to talk – it made me realise just how much I’ve missed. Still, not long now before I can ‘meet’ her properly!

Oh, by the way, thanks for your good wishes for DIL1's birthday (same day as Pippa's) on Friday!

Anyway, I’m waffling, so I’d better go and do something constructive!

I hope you all have a good day.

Hello all well we are quiet in here today so i thought I would come and break the silence ;)

kathy - gosh Megan talking - how cute - the family have tentatively been talking about Skyping recently or web cam - we all live in England but further apart than we would like and due to commitments or health dont see one another so whether we will ever get round to doing it i dont know. I can almost touch your anticipation and excitment at your forthcoming trip - its wonderful xx

This morning I have been finishing off some bits - sewn in the ends to some squares - as I think i said before squares are quicker for me so have been knitting those then will sew into strip when required amount done - also sewn up some gloves for christmas present that have been lurking on my table for a week or so - I feel an urge to make some cards but how far that urge will go I dont know

Anyway thats me so will pop back later to see if anyone else has been in - big hugs xxx

 Hellooooo `smeee. No I haven`t disappeared completely.

Been working lots, both day and evening, so making some much needed pennies for Christmas pressies and some squishy stuff for me to play with. No, not plasticine :rotfl:or playdoh. Maybe if I invest (cough, cough) in some new stuff it might encourage Mojo to come home. The stash I have here isn`t very enticing it would appear.

Had to part with loadsa money recently as the old rust bucket needed some work done on it and road tax too, all in the same week .

Shaz, I went through a very tough time with my older son between the ages of 15 - 21 and I landed up putting all his clothes in black bags and calling his father to come and pick them up or they would go in the local skip. It broke my heart to do it (it was on his 21st birthday :() but I couldn`t live like that any more as my own health was suffering. Son didn`t speak to me again for several years, but once he settled down with his girlfriend he realised the heartache he had caused and actually apologised for being a s*** for so long. So there`s hope yet for you and yours.

Chalky - thanks for the pm. I`ll be having another go tonight providing I can stay awake. Been having sleepless nights again lately so am inclined to nod off on the chair.
Oh yes, the `see where you are going` hat is definitely the better one ;) less chance of you falling over something !

Mioliere - getting very excited now eh? Counting the sleeps........:)

re Kemps.- I did have a looksee but didn`t buy :T and when I went back with my card in hand.........the scarf kits I fancied had all gone. Obviously I wasn`t meant to have them.

Pippa S - Hope your DH is progressing and do take care of yourself too. Have some `time out` while he is snoozing and don`t feel you have to be superwoman. Don`t overdo things with your wrist either, it`ll take longer to get better.
BTW Shaz, how is your wrist now ?

Right, I`m off to wake up my little sleeping beauty. He`s been having a snooze as he was tired out when we came home from food shopping and his mummy is away into town to do some santa shopping ;)

    Bye for now.

    Hello just a quickie

psso - I really hope you are not working too hard - please look after yourself! but do understand about the car and christmas etc - oh it is tough isnt it - Im desperately trying to do christmas on a tighter budget but I do feel so stingy and very Scrooge (I hate being like this)
As for kemps you had the same problem as me - the Disney scarves were gone but did buy a couple of the other kits for me and christmas presents

Actually ........... my order came today so I spent a good few minutes having a squish mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - that came quick when I first started ordering from Kemps they used to take a while but now its next day - double mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Few more little jobs achieved since I last came on and now Im trying to finish off 20" baby blanket - corner to corner - it was meant to be a SANDS but it got the better of me and my arms and wrists were hurting with the length of the needles so I cut it down a bit and decided on just a plain white smaller blanket

I suppose I had better start to think about opening up the kitchen
    Take care all
