Morning all - somehow i was lured into getting up early by DS.........
ginnyknit - thank you for your help on the decopatch - dont worry Im terrible for a bargain and have sat a few hours scouring the internet for the cheapest items although I didnt buy napkins what a great idea - shall give that a go- the letters I sourced from someone on ebay and asked as I was buying a few would they give a discount got them for 1.25 each!!!! - when they are done I will put up a pic xxx
pippa - Im so pleased to hear you had a lovely day - you deserve it xxx
please dont be alarmed by what im going to say but when DOH managed to get me to Ikea a few years ago they took a picture of me pretending to kiss the sign and floor outside the shop and sent it to my Mum on the mobile - I LOVE IKEA - all the storage (I have OCD for storage) all the bits and pieces mmmmm Ive gone quite gooey thinking about it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:and dont forgot the boxes of biscuits and meatballs in the food bit oooooooooooooooo
Right Im over that now - Im just trying a neckwarmer out pattern I found on Lionbrand https://www.lionbrand.com - Casual Cowl Free Pattern L10374 (cant put link as it wont work for some reason) - there is a section for 5 fast last minute gifts that take one ball - do you think these cowls would be suitable for Lou @ LH for the homeless ?????? I know they are being worn by a lady on pic but do men wear them???? - help on this one would be a help - I think my common sense and confidence went off with my mojo lately
Advice on cowl would be great - thanks in advance - I took on board the thoughts on the bits for christmas and you lovely ladies are all right - the dolly has been banished from my thoughts - although I kept the decopatch ideas as they are going to be a) something i wanted to try b) relatively quick and cheap to achieve but will look effective
Update on mojo - big mojo is still AWOL but seems to have sent very small relative which is better than nothing :rotfl:
Hugs to all xx back later xxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
Afternoon :hello:
Another miserable day here thought it was going to brighten up as the sun kept popping in and out, but it seems to have given up now...
f1 - you have made me :rotfl:visions of you paying homage to IKEA, never tried the meatballs but the soup is my fav yummmm. Just had a look at the cowl, yes I think they are ok for the homeless anything that will keep them warm should be ok. I have seen a few men wearing them and if we have a real cold winter there will be more. They are ideal for anyone really if they are deep enough they can be pulled up over the head as well as around the neck.
psso - I have been into L/H looking at the photos of the craft weekend, little J looked so cute in his pumpkin outfit, looks like the whole thing was a roaring sucess
After seeing the cowls I am off to find some suitable yarn and my looms now, I can't do any knitting at the mo but maybe I could loom knit will give it a go...
enjoy yourselves wherever you are and whatever you're doing today

link to the cowl........its gorgeous believe my Dear Wee Sister will have one from Santa (me). Sorry I am missing I really am up past my ears in other folks STUFF.
Managed to get a few things made for my LH SS and with any luck providing the appointments arranged for next week roll up at the right time I will get an opportunity to get
to the shops and find some other lovely bits and bobs to go in my parcel. Washed my jeans the other day with my Driving Licence in the pocket (you have to carry it and your Passport) at all times in France..so it was only a matter o time till something ended up in the wash! Rang DVLA and got them to fax me an attestation of entitlement and I do have an old photo copy of my licence so armed with that and a few copies of bills showing my address a couple of photo's I will go and see if the French prefecture will issue me with a new licence. Oh and the telly blew up last week as well but we got right onto the intraweb and ordered another which arrived within 48 hours, so all in all I am more than happy that the week is over. Will try and get back in tomorrow and get caught up with all the reading I need to do on the forum.
Love and cuddles to you all.

toots...I hunted out some Mosaic chunky (which I think is like an aran with boobley bits in it) then knitted up the 11 st = 4 ins thing they do explain on their pattern how to adjust your needles...I am restricted in that my circular needle is 7's Old Style but I do knit slack. You can knit it on long straight pr of pins and then do stitch it up...

Thanks roamin - I have just been looking at some of the other cowl patterns and I have some 'bobbly' chunky that i think I will try and see how it turns out - some of the patterns actually say'chunky, rug wool, sport etc' so I might be able to use different stuff that I cant use on the squares. they look great and might be in a few stockings from me too!xxPeace will be mine

ooo first in mornin all :hello:
toots - I am not going to read your last post naughty you trying to tempt me again... I spent far too much yesterday
With the cowls unless you want to do a specific one, it doesn't really matter what yarn you use as long as its deep enough and also long enough as it scrunches up and feels all cuddlybut larger size needles are best for the thicker cowls. If you do want a chunky one and haven't the right yarn just use 2 strands of whatever you have, I did one with 1 strand DK and 1 strand aran, I also used 1 strand of 4ply and 1 strand chunky (just to use the 4ply up) and they both came out really good...I do the same with hats and they are always ok, it doesn't matter what size they are as heads don't come in just one size do they, neither do necks come to that.... anyway thats the thing with knitting just have fun experimenting
and before you know where you are you have invented your own pattern :T
f1 - dont feel guilty I just love new patternsI found a lovely chunky acrylic in black/dark grey/light grey with a fleck in which will be perfect for a mans cowl so I will have a go at that this PM.
jean - you will burn yourself out before Christmas at this rate please slow down a bit
Yesterday I had a e'mail from Kemps as well, and errrmmm I went in just for a look you understand... and ordered a load of kits...well at that price you have to don't you? Looks like my dark Winter nights are sorted :rotfl:
off to do my update now
